Ok just put on cm10 last night, like it, but using the kernel that came with download. Is there a quick charge kernel out there for the cm10? I'm using evervolv with incredikernel in my htc incredible and use the app incredicontrol, is there an app for the Samsung cm10?

The only alternative kernel for us is Devil Kernel, which does in fact have fast charge. I personally have had stability issues (random reboots, phone shutting off, etc) with using Devil and CM10 but your results may vary. Be sure to clear cache and davlik cache before flashing a new kernel.
Download Devil from here: http://rootaxbox.no-ip.org/derteufel/

Actually if you disable "Deep idle" [Or maybe "deep sleep"?] [but, not devil idle--keep that enabled] on CM10 [ParanoidAndroid 2.21] I have no sod, or rebooting.

I have always had both disabled. This issue seems to be a lot less frequent with the new version of the kernel, 1.7.4

Yes, I have it on Permanent, and I have no SOD.. I also have min/max freq for screen on/off disabled [forget exactly why I disabled, if you get sod with devil idle, try disabling it], and Deep Idle off [deep idle = sod for me, last I checked]
OK so if this will workgood and charge fast will the battery actually last longer or better than the cm10 stock one?

Everything was fine for awhile...I used to flash many roms and never had this issue. I thought it might have been one rom but then realized that it happened with a few roms...didn't matter which one I flashed. The screen will freeze or the phone will freeze while charging and I need to do a battery pull to get it up again. Does anyone have any clue why this is suddenly happing to me?

simply installed a rom...no overclock...
It happens even if I select Normal and interactivex in speedtweak.sh which wasn't an issue before.
Dunno if this is of any help, but I too was experiencing frequent lockups. I am running rooted stock. The fix I found was wiping the dalvik cache. As soon as I did this I was lockup free. Good luck, and I hope this helps.

Hi there!
My system is:
Cm7 last stable version
Franco kernel 19.2 cfs + zram
Since 2 nights my phone turns automatically of. I don't no what happen because I'm sleeping.
I have no Problems or bugs all over the day.
How can i solve this problem or how can i see what's the reason for the shutdown?
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
maybe its because you ran out of battery?
go to settings>about phone>battery use and click on the graph to see if there is a sudden drop in battery life

Also, what is your overclock setting? If the phone had a kernel panic, it would shut down or reboot and you would've never noticed.
The CPU Max is 729, and this work very well since 3 or 4 weeks. I put the CPU speed next night down to 600.
I load the battery full when I'm cooking at 7pm, after that i unplug the phone. This works all the time pretty good.
The mysterious thing is, that i don't change anything. And why only at night?
But first of all i will check it out next night, and will report it.
Thanks!

Also, to stay on the topic, try to install some app like Watchdog, which will show exactly which app is eating up your battery.

The battery is not empty or get drained, the battery-level is (after new boot) at 95%. Is there any way to log a kernelpanic? When i use the phone at the day, i never have problems like rebooting or a shutdown. What does happen at night? Is the a function in android to clean up at night like a pc?
All right now, it was a kernel panic. I've flashed the Franco with vsync now and have no problems yet.
But one question will have never an answer: why only at night?

Yup my phone updated, if I install custom Kernel, when I unroot it and stock ROM can I still get back to my official Kernel version? And can I still get my warranty?
+1, sometimes it gets quite hot, sometimes not. Either has something to do with rooting or stock kernel is bad. Reboot fixes it temporarily here...
Of course it gets warm when you're doing things with the phone, it's what processors (and pretty much everything else in the world) does when doing work.
It's not a bug, nor a problem, just a thing that happens to everything.
High temperature means the CPU is working.
If you're surfing the WEB, it's quite normal with todays heavy usage of Javascript and animations on webpages. Custom kernels can reduce it somewhat by not going to full CPU speed (1.4GHz) directly, but this will naturally reduce the phone's "instant" performance.
I wouldn't say it gets heating up or hot. Just feel warmer. That's all. Nothing to worry about.

So basically ever since I flashed cm10 I've been having weird issues with my battery. it takes forever to charge like 2 hours to get to 20‰ and it will not go past that.to make it worse if the phone dies the notification light blinks and the phone will not turn on for like a half an hour I understand that its still not a stable release but other people are not having these issues and the rom itself is BOSS
My phone is on with the new pain in a the a$$ hboot and I used GUI flasher to flash the kernel before I flashed the ROM I am irc 9/5 build

I wonder if this isn't some explicit form of kernel panic, maybe there some small relevant change in the kernel that is creating a conflict from with in the rom in regards to charging the battery or what if the rom has significant changes in it that are confusing the kernel and causing a malfunction in the charging process, what if its causing some weird from of bug that is directly related to polling the battery, maybe its overheating because the flux capacitor is out of juice!! In all my adventures flashing roms and kernels and what have you I have never seen any error specifcally stating kernel panic or kernel break and not likely to see one anytime soon due to the fact that the general idea is if it boots its fine. dear god i need to sober up....have you tried just flashing the kernel of a previous nightly incase there are changes that didnt take?

ROTFL yea maybe it is the flux capacitor.... I've had CM on every phone I've had that it was available for but this issue is just getting to me BC I haven't really seen anyone complain about it any if the recent builds. I never thought to flash a kernel from recent builds but wouldnt that give me some of the issues that where already remedied? And the recovery I'm running is the update twrp

The only time to wipe stats is a 100% clean start, other then that it does nothing to improve battery life

You can use Tasker to do this, Evo. State->display off->mobile data off.

Did you try flashing a different kernel or dirty flashing the rom.
Your sig says your probably on hyperdrive. This is odd behavior for a touch wiz rom. I have seen this on AOSP.
I would almost bet something has gotten stomped on.
Does this happen regardless of toggling airplane mode, or rebooting, or changing mobile network settings?

I am on Hyperdrive - says that a few posts up, too.
I'm on stock optimized kernel on HD - and have ran that kernel since it's been available. I'm not one for switching around kernels - too buggy for me
What I've done is set Tasker to always keep mobile data on when at cell near work. This works and doesn't appear to have much of a detrimental effect on my battery life.

Stock Optimized does run nice on HD.
Honestly I'd dirty flash the rom.
If it didn't clear up, I'd nandroid, back up apps and reflash.
Like you the best I can tell this is not normal behavior on HD so I'd say it has to do with your setup, how it flashed, what you installed, the tweaks that were done, etc...
But you also have a work around in place. I know sometimes for myself I cease to care about what the problem is or what has caused it if I have a viable work around.
I'd say your call all the way on this one.
Or heck if your a flashaholic like me, nandroid and flash something else to see if it happens there too. Eclipse TW 2.0 and Dirty Unicorns are my favorites right now, both running really solid, with exceptional battery life. DU if you like ultra customization like hyperdrive and like aosp as well. I like me some Hyperdrive as well, but those are the 2 that have my attention @ the moment.
Sorry not more help, but that is just one of those weird bugs you could chase forever.
