I don't think is sense, is the screen, it is a battery Hog. My sensation does not drain the battery as bad, but the screen is not as bright either.

I found a way to make the phone last a very long time. but you guys wont like it.
I found out the thing that takes the most battery life is the data plan 4g crap.
I made a short cut to turn off mobile data. Its a nice button.
My battery life almost went up 100%
You can still use the cell phone to phone, and still txt. and recieve txt's you just can't recieve txt pictures. but it txt's you a message asking you to click here to download. or some crap. then I turn on the data on the phone(4g) and it auto downloads the picture
If I need to surf the web or some crap i turn on the mobile data and then watch it eat the battery untill I turn that off.

He just turned off data not radio. I do that when I'm at work just because I don't like being connected to a charger. I still get all ky calls , all my texts and all my multi-media messages. The phone knows when to turn on data when it's receiving so it's ok with me. I just turn data on when I want to scan fb, instagram or xda.

hey guys today i am leaving on vacation right after school and we are doing the 20 hour drive to Florida then getting on a cruise there. The cruise is going to mexico and basically the west Caribbean so if i have my fascinate with me and just have it off will i get charged with roaming charges because i will have an influx of text's saturday because my friends will be texting me for my birthday.
I went on a cruise last October and took my Original Droid. I just put turned off mobile data and was fine, though I only use Google Voice for texting. Perhaps someone can speak to what happens to texts specifically.
For what it's worth, GPS does work with out cell signal ... I used My Tracks in Veracruz to make a map of a tour we did. There wasn't any "map" until we got back to the States and I turned data on, but it did store all the GPS location info.
K thanks but I do need to know about texting

I was just in China, data connected twice, in airplane mode the rest of the time. I didn't use it for anything, it was just backround data updating widgets, it cost $3.20 for that.
Keep it in airplane mode and use wifi.
Any other Rezound owners with Mobile Hot Spot seeing 4G dropping out fairly often? I almost never lose 4G LTE signal anywhere in my city, but when I have MHS on, it drops out fairly often.
Just noticed this today in Chicago while using hot spot in airport. I think I'm going to call Verizon about it.

I just called and got transferred almost immediately to level 2 tech support. They checked to make sure everything was configured properly on their end of the network before asking me to go to Manage Applications and clearing data in the Mobile Hotspot app.
I'll see how that goes. Next step they said would be Factory Reset, and then possibly switch out the phone.
The thing is, neither of these might fix it. It could be an issue in the software that requires an update. So if any of you have Mobile Hotspot, pay close attention to see if the 4G LTE connection drops out periodically while using MHS, and if so - dial *611 and complain.
Squeaky Wheel gets the oil!
So that didn't fix it. I so very reluctantly am going to try a Factory Reset. I can't stand the idea of having re-download all my apps and set up GO Launcher again, but this is infuriating.

let us know how it goes. Pretty sad if their MHS is jacking up the data. One more reason to stealth tether once root is obtained.

Yeah I'm going to do the Factory Reset tonight and report back.
Even if I keep the MHS for $30/mo to help ensure unlimited data and no red flags, once we have S-OFF, I definitely might switch to another tethering application if it runs smoother.

I had my laptop tethered one night just checking it out and it was dropping off but I thought it had to do with the screen going to sleep. Does LTE stay on while phone screen is asleep? I know that putting the phone in "sleep mode" is supposed to turn it off during the set hours which makes me think that it's not supposed to happen in the normal course of the day when the screen turns off.
I'm looking into cutting off my dsl if the 4g suffices for my internet connection at home.
I'm traveling for work and there is no 4g signal where I'm at and I had no problem with 3g tethering. No drop outs.

Forgive me if this is only peripheral to your topic.
I can't prove this but I believe mobile hotspot is throttled. If you want to see for yourself, try this. Using mobile hotspot, see if you can stream a 1080 p video from youtube on your laptop. Chances are, it will have to stop to buffer every 30 seconds or so. Now download and install easy tether. Now, open 4 you tube windows with 1080 p videos on each 1 and a run em all at the same time.
The difference is freaking amazing. With wired tether this phone will run FOUR videos in high definition simultaneously. That is true 4 g speeds.
By the way running the speed test app I can pull about 26 down and 18 up. So I'm pretty damn sure mobile hotspot is seriously throttled back. Verizon claims wireless hotspot is 4 g, but I smell fish.

Interesting. When the Youtube buffers every 30 seconds or so, watch the 4G LTE signal. Does it disappear at all? Don't glance away for even a moment! It goes away and comes back quickly.

False alarm. =\ 4G started dropping out again after a while. Especially when clicking from Amazon Instant Video to Netflix and back on my Roku player. They did recommend trying 3G, so I'll try that before bringing the phone in for an exchange. Not excited about forcing them to manufacture another phone, but we need to press this issue, if it is indeed either a software issue or hardware issue. The WiFi and LTE Rx anetenna are right next to each other so that is suspicious!
Anyone else having this issue needs to start calling Verizon! The Tech Rep said he saw no record of this complaint for the Rezound in the system. So they are assuming it is just me.

Easy teether is for wired USB internet. Mobile hot spot is for wireless connections. I would highly recommend easytether , it works flawlessly with no problems whatsoever. Here are screen caps of the problem that everyone is having. Verizon is blaming HTC for it saying they don't show any problems on their side. Funny however, my Thunderbolt did it, my Droid Charge at times used to do it and now the Resound. I'm suspecting it has something to do with the app. I did a factory reset, trade sim cards, two tickets for the engineer coming back with no problems, a call from HtC saying phone was defective, a new Rezound with a new sim card and STILL it looses connection.

So... using a usb tether are you using your data plan and not your mhs plan?
And in order to have phone on charger and usb tethered you'd need a splitter then, would this affect the data rate if there is charging going on? Any reason why this can't be done? Trying to figure out how to use my unlimited mhs in place of my dsl and drop dsl. As long as it's reliable and they don't kill my connection with throttling I might do it.

If you have unlimited MHS, then you should have already gotten in on the unlimited data glitch. No splitter. Wired tethering uses data. Phone charges while (wired) tethering. You'll get FAR faster speeds too. (But you can bet they know you're doing it.)
I have noticed when using the MHS to connect to my epic 4g touch that if I leave my rezound ON, I wont lose the connection. But as soon as I turn the screen off the rezound, itll lose connection...

Anyways, great news (sort of). HTC contacted me today and told me they are looking into it since they've been getting calls about this issue. Looks like it is a big problem. They will call me back from 48 hrs up to 10 business days. Glad to see this is getting recognized! Lets keep pressuring VZW/HTC on getting this issue resolved.
This never was a problem for me for years but now, for some unknown reason, it is. I am signed into Google Talk on both my Evo LTE and my laptop. I will converse with someone on the laptop and normally whenever I start replying the phone shuts up for the duration of the conversation unless there is a long break w/o messages. It will notify me again and I'm fine with this. I just had a conversation on my laptop and this phone sounded the notification and vibrated EACH time I received another message even though I was actively sending replies via the laptop. This is frustrating. How can I solve this?
I'm doing this same thing right now. I do not get the extra notifications. Probably just a fluke. Sign out and back in...open the chat on the phone so it's active....reboot....try any/all of the above.
I do the same thing everyday, and no extra notifications.
My problem doesn't appear to end there. If I'm on a Talk conversation on my phone it still sounds the notification for EVERY received message even though the conversation window is still open. This is quite annoying.
Check ur settings for g chat on the pc, there might be something there

Thanks for the advice but I already checked all the settings both from a PC as well as the phone. Nothing affected this. The weird part is it appears to have fixed itself today for some unknown reason. Just as mysteriously as it arrived... it left. Hopefully it stays gone.
I have noticed the same glitch. My only take is that the LTE keeps us signed in to gChat whereas the Evo and other Android phones allowed you to turn gChat on the phone off.

This is a temporary fix that I'm aware of but something is broken because it's not supposed to word this way.
On may 5th I was throttled because I went over 5GB. My cycle started may 10th and it never went back to the 4G speed. I can connect to the 4G network, shows 4G, but the data speed is 0.05Kbps... I removed the SIM card, power cycled it, switch back and forth 2G and 4G and nothing.
I've been throttled before with my Amaze 4G and it would go back to normal 4G speeds the day of the new cycle. It's the first time it has gotten stuck in 2G speeds.
I hope it's not a phone issue. This phone is extremely rare to come by in Puerto Rico.
It's not the phone, check your tmobile account

Yea, you have exactly the same problem I had. I suggest you call and demand for a discount on your account for this month, since you're paying for a service you're not receiving. It was a hassle for me. CS wouldn't help me because I couldn't proof to them that I was throttled when their system showed I wasn't.
I actually had to go into a corporate tmo store, explain and show them my problem. Then I asked the rep if she can call herself and let them know my problem and that she was proof. From there, I demanded a discount.

i'm SO sick of having phone issues. i would give anything to go back to 2G and T9.
my galaxy s4 - brand "new" (refurbished from asurion) - loses its data connection whenever it ****ing feels like it. i don't notice it till i send a text and NOTHING will happen until it fails. to fix it i toggle data, or airplane mode, or lose my **** completely and yell at it. this still takes about a minute to kick in after the toggle, and sometimes the phone needs a reboot before it fixes. when it does respond to the fix, it lasts for ten minutes, fifteen minutes, however long it ****ing feels like it, then starts over again.

i imagine this is an issue with the radio. would a rom have different settings for the radio to keep the connection persistent?
any ideas? the phone is practically right out of the box. all i want is a consistently working device (or at least one that just sends sms and mms consistently without issue), and i have literally never had an android phone that did this.
would appreciate any advice
