Rooted Tablet S now no Play Store - Sony Tablet S

I have rooted my sony tablet s ( Android 4.03 release 1a) using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460 after rooting all my apps were wiped which is no big deal but Play Store has also been removed. I downloaded an apk and installed but this runs and then says its stopped working. If i go into settings- aps and uninstall playstore updates it says that it will revert to the factory version but am then back in the same situation with Play Store not installed at all.
(In fact in settings-aps a large number of my apps are listed as installed when in fact they are not).
Any help much appreciated.

In fact it seems that the root didn't work just deleted the apps etc. Would still like to root so any advice appreciated.

Just do a factory reset and play store should be back.

Thanks, Playstore back working now to get it rooted!

You would lose your root. Use condi to install a play store which include more apps
Sent from my GT-I5800 using xda app-developers app

That is not correct. After a factory reset, you still have root. I think it is a good thing to do a factory reset, after rooting or update.

Regarding loss of root access after performing a Factory Reset, I believe both of you are correct. I believe it depends on which rooting method was used.
If Condi's ALLinONE tool was used to directly root a tablet's OS (i.e., Main Menu's selection 1), then root access will be lost when a Factory Reset is performed because the rooting changes to the tablet's OS were not saved (flashed) in the tablet's System ROM.
And even though I have not used the newer rooting method originally posted by WonderEkin, I believe if it was used, then root access will be lost for the same reason. Of course, I could be mistaken.
However, if Condi's ALLinONE tool was used to pre-root and install a tablet's OS (Main Menu's selection 3, then next menu's selection 1), then root access will not be lost when a factory reset is performed because the rooting changes to the tablet's OS were saved (flashed) in the tablet's System ROM.
I have used the pre-root/install method twice on two different tablet's and have performed a Factory Reset on both tablets several times, and neither tablet has ever lost root access.

So i tried doing a factory reset however it did not install anything i had removed, I then tried downgrading which didn't work either, so in short have i lost google play forever, does anyone have a base JB i can use to re install everything.
Please help been tinkering for hours now to no avail.

You don't say if you are unlocked and have a recovery?
Doing a factory reset will not bring back deleted apps as it only wipes the cache etc.
Re installing should have brought them apps back but I don't know how you are tying to re install.. Can you give a little bit more information on what I have asked please.

You will not be able to just install it. You will have to copy it into system/app folder using a file manager that has root support like es file explorer or root explorer.
Here is the file from the new JB update.

I'm really not sure what you deleted all together but try this.
GO to settings-apps and go to "all"
Scroll down to Google play services and google play store and force stop both and clear data and cache for both.

Any reason why you can't unlock the device and install a recovery so you can install custom roms? or are you trying to keep your warranty intact ?
I'm also not sure why you can't just do part 3 of the instructions you followed in the original post to put jellybean back on again. ( then again you have edited so many files this might not be advisable.)

[Q] Can't access Google play

I own a MI-BOOK MI3 tab. I'm able to surf the internet using browser but, couldn't login into gtalk app, youtube app, googleplay app, can't signin or sync the device with google and, I tried factory reset couple of time changed modem settings, reset modem settings no chance whatsoever and also login with another gmail account which was created for this purpose. Also when I login into play.google.com browser it shows all the apps that or wiped after factory reset as "INSTALLED". What do I do? Also how can I upgrade to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean? I followed your tutorial and gained root access to my tab. Using this post I did so [[[ forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994711 ]]].
Please help me out.
Also if I factory reset again will the root feature enable will be gone? Do I have to root again after one more factory reset if done? What about Android 4.2 Jelly Bean upgrade? Can I root again using same method if I get it to upgrade? Can I change the play.google.com settings showing apps as installed even though they were lost after factory reset? If I upgrade to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and do another factory reset will it reset to new installed Android 4.2 Jelly Bean or will it go back to earlier version of Android? What will happen to apps that came with tab by default? Will the apps that came with the tab be lost after upgrade?

[Q] Play store not working even after factory reset.

Hey all,
This is on my SGP511. To get root access recently, I downgraded to an earlier version of android. Then I used EasyRoot to get root access, backed up TA, then installed XZDualrecovery, supersu, busybox, Nandroid backup, and installed the newest firmware with root.
During downgrade of android, I noticed that Play store didnt work and so I thought it would fix on it's own after I installed the latest firmware. I have also noticed Gmail does not work as well, but I do have internet connection. I tried different fixes, culminating in a factory reset.
Even after factory reset, I dont have connection to Gmail and Play Store. I dont know what to do now to get it working.

First off, I would do the following;
1. Check your Google account in "Settings" and ensure it is properly configured. You could probably Delete that account, then add it again.
2. Or, you can delete your cach in the apps themselves. Go to "Settings/Apps", select the app, and delete the cach and/or data.
Then try it.
If the App isn't listed in Settings/Apps, then it needs to be installed. If you are trying the apps while on a 3g internet connection, it may not work (connect). This happens sometimes even with me.

If you had systemless root with SuperSU i think you lose root when you do a factory reset (factory reset doesn't wipe system files)
Both Tabs have same SuperSU. Sony Tablet S have never loose Root by Factoring Reset. After Factory Reset. Reinstall SuperSu from Playstore and Ready. Root Work Perfectly.
Have now tested. Make SuperSU to System App with SD2Link App on my Xperiza Z4. After Facroy Reset the SuperSU app is not gone. The Root rights are gone,
SuperSU App say. "Missing SuperSu Files. Can not Installing. Is a Problem"
I See Root are more as the SuperSu App and Kernel.
apparently is different Methods for Root by the two tabs.

Ok,
Under SuperSU -> parameters-> System, is the "Install SuperSU in /system" is grayed on the two tablet ?
Which OS version have you on the two tablet ?
I have another tablet "Acer A3-A20FHD KK 4.4.2" with the same version of SuperSU v2.76 but SuperSU is installed in /system so I think it depends on the version of the OS

This ist not Helpfull
I have make the App to a System App. This not work. It must be more as the App to make the Xperia Root rights.
Or ist System Mode not the same as make SuperSu to a System App?
make as System app or Install as System App the same or?
I don't undastand the purpose of theme. Of course, all apps removed after factory reset, but such things as supersu, xposed, remained in the system. Wanna get back root back? Install SuperSU apk or flash it through twrp, you may also reflash kernel. That's all.

Me too i don't understand because i never make a factory reset on this tablet. And reinstall SuperSu is not a problem for me
But on MM SuperSU is not installed in /system (systemless root) it's installed in /su/bin so it doesn't survive to factory reset.

Kingroot stuck as system apps

I rooted my phone using kingroot before and after removing al root authorization i found that kingroot has been installed as system app
also whenever i open the kingroot app it restarts my phone
how could i completely remove it
there's also the problem of the phone not able to connect to google play store (no connection, cannot login account)
my phone is NTT Docomo Sony Xperia SO-O4E
tried factory reset twice, deleting cached apps data, still doesnt work
a basic rundown on how it all happened :
-uninstall some bloatware from phone
-phone starts to restart randomly
-deleted cached apps data, no more random restart
-remove kingroot root auth and uninstall
-found out that phone cannot connect to play store, also kingroot has installed itself as system app

If your bootloader is already unlocked, the easiest way would be to restart the phone in fastboot mode, then boot (you don't need to flash it) TWRP and install SuperSU from a flashrecovery zipfile. This will remove kingroot app and running processes (mind you, there may be some dead kingroot traces left over on the filesystem - if you want to remove these too, you'll have to do so from a shell with root permissions). I haven't tried this with the Sony Xperia ZR/NTT Docomo Sony Xperia A (SO-04E), but it seems to work with most phones that are supported by TWRP. I wrote a short guide on how to do this (it's for a different device but these steps should be mostly generic if you have the necessary prerequisites in place).
Another good thing about SuperSU is that if you don't wish to keep root, it will remove itself cleanly and completely from your system (you'll find the unroot option in the apps settings). If however you would like to keep root, then SuperSU is an app that doesn't spy on you and doesn't phone home (I did a thorough check of the shell script used to install SuperSU and a rough check of the SuperSU apk using strings and wireshark only yesterday and as far as I could tell, it doesn't attempt to do anything malicious or touch files that it doesn't need to touch for its purpose, nor did it start a single internet connection by itself). The automatic NVISO analysis at https://apkscan.nviso.be/report/show/99a7841aa3eeaefa69f767602b0c454c confirms this too. Just saying this in case you decided to move away from root due to spyware concerns.
TWRP is an open source project. Their Homepage is https://twrp.me/
The TWRP image files for your device arel located here https://dl.twrp.me/dogo/
SuperSU homepage is https://www.chainfire.eu/ , the latest flashrecovery zipfile can be found here http://www.supersu.com/download
Both projects also have their own sections here on xda.
SuperSU also has it's own sections here on xda.

Was this problem related to the rooting process in any way?
Does your internet access work otherwise?
What happens exactly when you start google play?
hi, thank you for the reply
the phone has only been rooted once with kingroot app, which i have removed (both the supposed app and the root auth), but kingroot app installed itself as system app without my permission and whenever i open the app my phone reboots
i'll try looking for ways to flash the phone
as for the play store, it always show the no connection screen even though i can browse the internet without any problem
i tried following the steps from google help page but it doesnt seem to do anything
i'm thinking that the hosts.txt file cause this so im trying to delete it, but i found no other way to delete it without rerooting my phone
i tried factory reset twice but it doesnt seem to help either
thanks before and sorry for the late reply
EDIT : i dont think i can unlock the bootloader officially so i need an exploit

In that case, you will have to root first. Once having gained root access you can unlock the bootloader. To root, you can either use the kingroot app you used before (not much to loose, since you already installed it and its spyware the first time, and you will later be able to remove it with SuperSU). Or you can try towelroot, although if your smartphone has seen firmware updates, that will propably no longer work. There may be other, more current options - search trough the Xperia ZR Section.
Once you have root, you can use adb and fastboot to boot the latest TWRP for Sony Xperia ZR, then install the latest SuperSU recovery flashable zip. Using that you can completely remove Kingroot even as a system app and afterwards remove SuperSU itself, which will cleanly uninstall itself via Settings.
Code:
as for the play store, it always show the no connection screen even though i can browse the internet without any problem
i tried following the steps from google help page but it doesnt seem to do anything
i'm thinking that the hosts.txt file cause this so im trying to delete it, but i found no other way to delete it without rerooting my phone
i tried factory reset twice but it doesnt seem to help either
I would try the above first, see if the playstore works again after you SuperSU has completely removed Kingroot (reboot), and if it doesn't take a look at the hosts file. Then uninstall SuperSU when you don't need root anymore...
I can help along with adb/fastboot commands, but you need to root your device first (and install the necessary drivers for your phone on your computer).
Good luck!
