Hi Guys!
This is my first time posting here and also my first time using an Android but I'm a bit techie myself. I've jailbroken a lot of iphones but this is my first time rooting. I've read a lot of tutorials about rooting and installing cyanogenmod but it keeps failing. Below are the steps I've done:
1. Root the S3 I9300 (International) using CF-Root.
2. I copied cyanogen mod 9 (stable) and gapps on Internal SD.
3. After going to recovery mode, I've followed every instuctions given, I clicked wipe/factory reset, wipe cache and even wipe dalvik.
4. Then I install/flash cyanogenmod 9. It says insllation complete. then I installed gapps and installation complete.
5. Next step is to reboot, but after rebooting it just gets stuck at Samsung Galaxy S III I9300 boot logo.
I've done that 5 times already and still the same result. I've followed every detail about installing cyanogenmod but I don't know why it doesn't load.
I really need a solution.. Thanks

Hi Guys
Im having some problems trying to install a custom rom into my new Galaxy SIII I9300.
The rom in question is OmegaRom V35
After roooting and all, yesterday i tryed installing the rom with mobile odin, following all the instructions.
The result was the phone rebooted after the instalation seemed to be ok, but got stuck on the booting animation, and never got out of there.
I Had then to inject cwm with odin desktop, wiped data, cache anda dalvik, and then proceed to install the stock rom with desktop odin. All went well and the phone worked great.
I thought that maybe the problem was with mobile odin pro. So today, i went and proceeded to install Omega V35 via CWM. I again put the file on internal sd card, wiped data, cache and dalvik, and the rom started flashing. It all started good but, with no warning, at the mniddle of the installation, when applications were being installed, the phone went automatically and wuickly back to CWM!
Of course the installation wasnt finished, so i was stuck with cwm on reboot. Again made wipe data, cache and Dalvik, tried again to flash Omega V35, and again, the same problem...
In the end, i had to flash the stock rom again.
I searched the forum, but i cant seem to find the problem for this. I followed all the instructions, and had no error messages besides CWM skiping the format of the card, and some message (that i've seen in videos as normal), when wiping Dalvik!
Any clue to what's happening?
A clue read the instructions for the rom .
Installation:Install CWM Recovery with Odin - Get CWM Recovery here
Boot to CWM Recovery using volume up, power button and home key
Backup your device and make sure to keep a copy of the backup to your pc!
Wipe data / factory reset (Not needed if you already have Omega)
Install Omega
(Wipe cache will be done automatically during installation so you can skip this step
Wipe dalvik cache will be done automatically during installation so you can skip this step)

Maybe i didn't expressed myself correctly, but today i followed those instructions twice, and, at each of these tries the
same thing happened. When the flashing was running apparently problemless it simply stoped and went to CWM without rebooting.

Hey guys,
I have a Samsung GT-I9300 (International).
I rooted my phone in order to get cwm recovery.
I placed the CM10.1.zip and the gapps.zip on my extsdcard.
I access cwm and install both via the menu.
Then I did a factory reset ´cause everywhere is written i have to do it to get past the bootscreen.
But apparently it doesn't work.
I tried every possible way to get it up and running.
reset -> flash -> reset
reset -> flash
flash -> reset
flash...
I searched on Google for hours but nothing helped so far.
Hope you guys can helpme =)

follow this guide step by step if problem still occurs contact me
1.Flash rom
2.Flash gapps (if isnt included to rom)

5.Wipe dalvik cache
6.Reboot (first start may take several minutes so be patient)
(its always possible that rom just isnt booting so try some other rom if this guide doesnt help)
press thanks if i helped
god damn it!
nothing works...
flashing kernel via Odin works 1 out of 10 times...
flashing rom works not at all
the whole day I'm trying to get CM on my phone -.-
I once flashed my kernel and everything worked perfectly, but no it just an enormous ****storm
and on top of it I freakin deleted my backup and now I can't even get back my old system
hell of a day
from where do I start flashing the rom if I do it a second time?
just "overflash" the old one or start from stock?
EDIT:// HOLY KAMOLY!
It justed worked! I just restarted it for the 42624726th time and now it works like a charm =)
I hope if I update it any time soon I don't have to pray to the almighty flying spaghetti-monster again
there shouldnt be any problem updating cyanogenmod just remember latest cyanogenmod is experimental and you should not flash any kernel anyway feel free to ask if your having problems
What recovery are you using?
Details help.
I installed the following on my S2:
ClockWorkMod: GT-I9100_JB_ClockworkMod-Recovery_6.0.2.9
CyanogenMod : cm-10.1-20130715-NIGHTLY-i9100
Android: ICS
Upon reboot the device just sits there with the logo spinning. been going for about 30mins at this point. If I hold the keys for recovery, then it gets there, and it can get into Odin, so I can restore my stock firmware, but I want to run CyanogenMod.
I have wiped the cache, but it still sits there.
What am I doing wrong?
Did you follow the instructions to the letter?
Wipped before and after?
Checked with CM thread?
Where did you put the CM zip, internal or extrenal?
Sent from...this is not even my S2
you have to do a factory reset.Wipe cache isn't enough.

Lack of reading.
Hi Guys,
I've rooted my S3, and installed PhilZ Touch 5. Then I clear Data/Factory & Cache along with Delvik. I then proceed to install the custom rom from a zip.
It all installs fine, and says it has done so. But when it reboots, it gets stuck on the GalaxyS3 logo, with a little red Exclimatin mark in the top left corner and stays on that screen until I remove battery or reboot into download or recovery mode...
It seems I just can't load the newley installed roms. I've tried multipul, Archidroid, LiquidSmoot, pureLook HD, etc..
Has anyone run into this problem?
Its an Australian S3, so its the International i9300 btw.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Also, is there a way to completely wipe the phone and start from scratch, as I keep seeing ArchiDroid folders in the SD.
To start completely new you can use mega wipe. It will delete anything but the ext sdcard, hence be careful.

Thanks, I'm thinking a MegaWipe would be the best bet, and then start fresh with a custom rom. I need to read more first so I don't screw up the phone..
just to update. the problem was solved with a mega wipe, i installed a new rom, and everything booted normally .
thanksssss
same problem i think except the red exclamation on the corner
Mr. John. i have the same problem now. You removed the battery after being stucked at the logo of samsung right? i wonder, were you able to go back to the home screen after removing the battery? thanks

No, if the phone won't boot after installing a new rom then no amount of battery pulling is going to make it boot.
Flash the super wipe .zip from recovery, assuming you've followed the instructions from your rom chef correctly.
survived the stucked screen

I already escaped the stuck screen. thankfully i have a nandroid back up (and i can still access the recovery mode). i was able to recover my old phone status.
thank you!
I was able to boot into recover & download mode, I was able to flash via odin any custom recovery and boot into it, I was able to wipe the cache/settings & delvik via recovery and then install any rom I liked, I could however not boot into any new/custom rom.
I then ran the MEGAWIPE.Zip in Philz, which I believe wiped some framework or something that was left behind stopping new roms to boot. I then installed a New rom, and it booted right away. No trouble what so ever...
hello xda,
i tried to insatll CM 11 on two SGS3 GT-I9300 and after installation first boot to CM, for any reason if i restarted the phone or power it off the device will power up showing the first Screen of Galaxy S3 model then will go in deep black screen like the phone missed the CM boot file.
Here is the procedure i used to follow, please bare with me and tell me where i did mistake
1- Rooting the device using CF-Auto Root (Optional as i think since there is no KNOX in 4.3 version)
2- Flashing TWRP Recovery using Odin
3- Using TWRP to flash both CM11 stable version and GAPPs
4- Reboot (CM works like charms!!!)
5- Any reboot happen, phone will power up showing the SGS3 Logo then goes in deep black screen!!
please give a hand and help me guys.

Do a clean install. Do factory reset, wipe cache & dalvik cache, wipe System and Data. Flash the ROM and Gapps again.
