I've been having some difficulties trying to install different ROMS onto my I5500, the firmware I previously had on there kept making my phone become constantly unresponsive making it unusable. I tried to install CyanogenMod 7 and it gets to the screen where it says Android then it keeps rebooting and loops. I have also tried installing a Europa version of Android 2.2 and it gets stuck on the Samsung screen, can anyone please give me advice on how to restore my phone so I can use a UK Stock ROM that is compatible with my phone and one that doesn't constantly crash.

Install the latest cyanogenmod ROM using the clockworkmod recovery and do a data wipe in the recovery before booting it...
Do a data wipe when switching between different ROMs..

Recently, I rooted my phone with unrevoked. At random times when turning on my Aria, at the Htc logo screen, my battery will vibrate multiple times before Cyanogen 7 android logo appears. I changed out my battery, unrooted then rooted again only to have this problem. I'm using the lasted Google gapps posted on XDA and don't think it's that. I tried stable and nightly r roms with no change. I believe it's possible that a bug in Unrevoked, Clockwork mod could be at fault. Again, this is at random times when turning on my phone. If anyone knows something are at times experienced this, please post it here.
I don't know what causes it exactly, maybe DT's apps2sd. But I have this too.

This is not a problem with Unrevoked or Clockwork. It means the ROM you have installed has something weird going on that causes it to restart a few times before booting normally. This has happened to me also when using CM7, but only after I had installed a different kernel. It never happened to me with the original default kernel, and it's also never happened with any other ROM (CM6 or any of the Sense ROMs).
Just curious, but can you tell us exactly which ROM you're using, and whether you installed a custom kernel on top of it?

I was using RC4, 7.0.3 and trying some of the latest nightly roms. This isn't my first Aria phone that I rooted. My first one didn't have this problem but I forgot which Google gapps version that was used at the time. If it were the gapps, the phone would go in a endless loop at the Cyanogen android boot screen but I'm having this multiple vibrate problem like it keeps rebooting at random on the HTC boot screen when turning on the phone. I changed out my battery for a new one which didn't fix it. At this moment, I unrooted and flashed the original stock rom and no problems are popping up. I believe it's a unknown bug in Clockwork.

Well, I suppose it could be. You might want to try formatting boot and system partitions before installing the ROM to see if that clears it up. We already know Clockwork doesn't clear the system partition properly when installing ROMs that use Edify scripts.
Hey Guys.
So I have a Tab 10.1, bought by me in the UK, tho I believe the model I have is a French one (bought it from Expansys) as that's the language it started up in.
I have tried to root my tab, using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239185/
However, no matter what rom I try to install, my screen ends up flickering with lots of lines across it, after about 5 mintues, rendering it useless. I have tried to install a stock rom, and unroot using Odin. I downloaded Root Checker from the market and it says I am now not rooted. I am currently running a stock 3.1 Rom.
But I don't know what to do now. Whatever rom I seem to choose to flash I still get the flickering issue.
I also got the flickering in CWM, but got it working using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27830023&postcount=41
but it didn't stop the flickering when I installed a new rom.
Can someone help, pleaseeeeeeee? :fingers-crossed:
Ok, I seem to have fixed the screen flickering.
I did this by flashing the file P7510XABKMN_P7510UEKMM_HOME.tar.md5 (which was in a file I found called sgt10.1_root_unroot) through Odin.
I'm not sure how to root and/or flash now as I don't want the same problems again.
I have no CWM because when I boot into recovery I have no option to install zip from SD card.
My About Section tells me:
Model Number GT-P7510
Android 3.2
Build No. HTJ85B.UEKMM P7510UEKMM
So I am guessing I have managed to get a stock rom back on the device, which has solved the flickering isses.
I have no Superuser and so am not rooted.
My aim is to install Tasker 14.
Does anyone know the reason why I got the flickering from Clockwork, and how I can flash without getting it?
Going to go to bed now since I've rescued its functionality! I'll get back on trying to flash it tomorrow.
Thanks
So I managed to root and install CWM again, flickering seemed to not exist.
I then tried to flash Task 14 and have the screen flickering again.
I flashed the bootloader file before I did any of this, as of these instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27830023&postcount=41
Hope u have got the solution now

Had same problem Look at this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1691875
Thanks for your reply.
Weirdly, the AOKP, CM9, and my current rom Overcome all work on my tablet, without the screen issues. The only time I get the screen scrambling is when install Task 14 (tried both fat and slim versions). This is on a clean install.
No idea why this is. But I'm happy the screen issues are sorted and I'm now running the modified honeycomb rom that is Overcome. Just got to wait for the Camera drivers for ICS
Cheers

Hello first of all I would like to thank all the great developers for the great ROMs out there.
Second I would like to warn everyone that this is a "first world problem rant" that I'm about to write up with a legit frustration I have.
I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy S4 from ATT and the only reason I got this phone over any other Android phone is the great camera and the screen.
I absolutely hate TouchWiz. It's bloated, slow and painfully ugly (to me). For this reason I decided to try out Flashing roms.
For the last couple of weeks (months maybe?) I have been using Cyanogenmod 10.1 stable with not many problems. Mostly camera issues but no biggie.
My frustration is the following: CyanogenMod has had two stable updates for my phone to go from 10.1 to 10.2 and, though it flashes perfectly, every time I reboot the phone the phone gets stuck on the "Samsung Custom (lock)" screen and I am forced to go into TWRP and reflash 10.1+Gapp from my SD carfd.. This happens EVERY TIME. With CM10.1 I can restart the phone just fine by the way. It's 10.2 and other Roms that make get stuck on the Samsung Custom (lock) screen.
So i decided to try out Gummy ROM because Kit Kat
I put the ROM in my SD card, Formated, Wiped and Installed. Worked like a charm until the camera wasnt working that well. I read the forums and said to restart to fix the camera.. Guess what?...AGAIN....Stuck on Samsung Custom (lock) screen.
My frustrations is that pretty much EVERY Rom that I have tried minus CM10.1 has done this to me and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
I have tried battery pulls, waiting 30 seconds, wiped dalvik, cache, etc. Fixed Permissions....everything and I have to reflash the ROMs almost 99% of the time unless I use CM10.1. I am tired of reading forums to fix this so here I am asking for your help.
NOTE: Most, if not all of these ROMs are designed for ATT.
/endrant
I have no idea what else to do so any help would be great.
INFO:
Current ROM: Gummy 1.1-11-21-13-UNOFFICIAL
Android 4.4
Baseband version
I3377UCUAMDL
Kernel Version
3.4 g0-Elite-Kernel-ga719cb
Build Number:
KRT16S
Google Apps:
Gapps-Kk-20131113.Zip
TWRP Version
I have no idea and I'm not about to restart phone and go through the pain of reflashing the ROM again as I just did. I will punch so many babies if I have to do this again!'
Thanks for listening.
I had the same problem and switched to Philz Touch instead of TWRP, I like TWRP a lot more and most people say its more stable, but that's what fixed it for me.

I have read, on CM's site somewhere I believe, they recommend using CWM for a recovery. I use 6.0.4.4 and have no issues with getting stuck at the boot logo. There was an issue with that but CM addressed it in one of the nightlies about two weeks ago.
I had that issue when I had a newer twrp recovery I have the .2 whatever one and I havnt had it since.
Hello,
Yesterday I have tried installing a new ROM to my old Galaxy S3 I9300, to make it more useful, since my main phone is dead. Stock 4.3 just works like ****. Battery drains in literary one hour from 100% to 0%, when connected to my brand new JBL speaker music played trough YouTube freezes, but video is still rolling , apps like Snapchat cause phone to glitch and even freeze when battery is below 50% and so on. I believe one thing I can try is to give this phone a somewhat fresh ROM. I have quite some experience with installing aftermarket ROMs from other phones, but in 5 hours of straight frustration, I couldn't figure out how to do this on the Galaxy S3
This is what I did:
1. Successfully rooted the phone trough my PC using Kingo Root, downloaded Resurrection remix 5.5.9 & Gapps 5.1 and put both zips to SD card
2. Installed latest version of CWM custom recovery
3. Nandroid backup
4. Wiped data and formated cache
5. Wiped dalvik cache
6. Installed Resurrection and gapps from SD card
7. reboot the phone
And then I expected to boot up into the new android, but when the Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 startup logo appears, it just keeps flashing for 5 seconds, in 1 second intervals, nothing happens. It is not even an bootloop it just doesent even start booting up? What the hell am I doing wrong?
Then I wiped data again and restored backup, I was able to boot up back to annoying android 4.3 and at least keep the phone useful.
Another issue I have with this phone, which can hopefully be fixed with new ROM, my phone detects SIM card, I type the PIN, register on my operator's network, but then a notification pops up saying: selected network (my network name) is not available.
I can't make calls nor use the mobile internet..
I will really appreciate all the help
Rule #1, if your phone is too slow buy a new one. You can't polish a turd.

Yes you can.
Try flashing another ROM like lineageos or latest cyanogenmod 11 (really fast and stable ROM)
I suggest starting over by flashing the latest stock ROM with Odin, flashing TWRP with Odin, and install all ROMs/zips using TWRP.
Root is not required to install TWRP when flashing TWRP with Odin.
