Hopefully this is in the right area. I am having an issue with my atrix speaker. My speakerphone stopped working about two weeks ago, I noticed this when listening to music. I was temporarily fixing the issue by twisting my phone a little. Now my earpiece is not working, I also have to twist the phone to get the earpiece to work. Anybody have any solutions?
I've been having weird issues with both the internal and external speaker. Most of the time I have to use speakerphone to answer it.
My solution was to use a bluetooth device.
I can't even use my external speaker because it cuts out. I took apart some of my phone, I can't figure out what the external speaker connects to or how it makes contact. And if I am reading different guides correctly the external speaker and ear speaker aren't connected on the same flex cable. The part you speak into works and so does the headphone jack.

So here is my problem.
I have a vanilla I9100, and the phone's media speaker and the phone's non media mic broke at the same time. I was simply playing music off of the media speakers for a really long time which would justify the media speaker being gone, but I have no idea why the primary microphone which is used to talk on the phone is also done.
There are basically 2 speakers and 2 mics.
the mic on the bottom is the speaker which you talk to people with. the speaker on the bottom is the ringer speaker and system notification speaker.
The top module is a rca-jack module that also has a speaker and a mic.
this mic is used for camcorders and such, this mic works, i checked but the speaker on this guy is gone as i can't listen to music and i cannot hear anybody when talking on the phone. Also I can hear stuff when i plug in ear phones into the rca jack.
As of this point I am very confused.
I have been reading the service manual and also tearing apart my phone, These 2 items are completely different modules. I was wondering if any one can give me some insight into this before i go out and purchase unecessary parts for my phone.
Thanks alot in advanced.
Does anyone know how to have call audio come through the headphone jack when plugged into my headphones while allowing the use of the internal mic for my voice?
I am coming for epic touch 4g that used to do it automatically when I had my headphones plugged in, but now people on the other of the call cannot hear my voice through the internal mic. I am guessing the phone thinks I have a headset with a mic, which I don't, so it turn off the internal mic.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

Had the same problem on my Samsung Captivate. I think the headphone jack is slightly different and causes this. I've heard of it being fixed in custom roms though.

Bummer. I went searching through the call settings and did not find anything so this is sounding more like the case..
I actually have the opposite problem and have a headset with a mic, but the voice isn't being transmitted at all.
I can hear them no problem, but they can't hear me. Seems to work fine with the stock earbuds but not with my other headset (which worked fine on my S2).

So with stock ear buds the people can here you through the internal mic? What type of headphones are you using?

Exactly. I'm using my Beats by Dre with the ControlTalk cable. Again, no problems on the S2, just on the Note
Me too
I have the same problem with my Captivate. When I plug in a headphone to listen to music and I receive a call, I cannot take the call using audio output as my headphones and internal phone built in mic for the input.
Has anyone found a solution to that yet ?
--Update.
I'm on Slimbean 4.2.2 and surprisingly it seems to work now.
Hi All,
Seems like my streak's earpiece speaker has given way.
Using earphones/speaker mode it works just fine. However, when trying to place/receive calls using the earpiece speakers, can't hear a single thing.
Tried installing different ROMs to see if it's a software problem as well, but still doesn't work.
Has anyone attempted to (successfully) replace the earpiece speakers before?
I was having a similar problem. The earpiece would intermittently go silent. I couldn't hear anyone, but they could hear me. If I switched to speakerphone or handsfree, I could hear them fine. Someone mentioned here or on Modaco that he had rectified the same issue by just re-seating the earpiece. Apparently the problem was caused by a loose contact. I'm yet to try this since the problem hasn't been occurring too often off late. I'll probably look into it after picking up a new 8GB Class 10 SD card to replace the internal SD card with. I figure that'll save me the trouble of having to open up the phone twice. Kill two birds with one stone!
so my atrix 4g headphone jack just stopped working properly the other day. first thing i thought i that it could be dirty, so i checked with a flashlight and the jack was clean
right now, the only thing i can hear when having headphones connected is the bass of the songs as a low static distortion while having the phone at maximum volume, if not, i hear nothing.
any ideas what it could be?
Poor connection, either headphones to jack or jack to PCB.
There's already a thread about this.
Its not poor connection, already checked that

Hi guys,
I need your advice here. I love the music capability of the v10. So my headphones is plugged in the phone all the time while listening to music. However, I noticed that 30% of the time when I receive/make phone calls the mic would just stop working. If I unplug my headphone and replug it back, about 50% of the time it will work again. The other 50% the phone call would end when I unplug my headphones. During all these scenarios the mic would work under speaker mode.
Is this a software issue?? Coz the mic obviously work flawlessly when the phone is unplugged or when it's on speaker mode. Would reboot the phone solve this problem or should I send this unit back to lg??
Thanks in advanced for your help!
I'm having the exact same problem you are. This happened to me once before and it just sort of fixed itself after a while. Do you see a weird little headphone chord icon at the top of your screen? If you do, it means that your phone thinks that a headset is plugged in when it's not, thus not allowing sound - such as music - to output from your external speaker. Mine doesn't even play music through headphones or allow me to hear anyone while making calls if I don't use speaker phone - the person I'm calling can't even hear me.
This is such a faulty issue - and a rarely known or talked about one at best. I'd take it up to your local carrier store and see what they say.
Mic prpblem even without headphone plug-in.

Thanks for the reply. I think I will contact LG. However, today I hada mic problem without pluggingin my headphones
Now I know the phone's mic works ~80% of the time. When it works, it works flawlessly. So, do you guys think this might be a software problem??
