[Q] headphone jack not working properly - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

so my atrix 4g headphone jack just stopped working properly the other day. first thing i thought i that it could be dirty, so i checked with a flashlight and the jack was clean
right now, the only thing i can hear when having headphones connected is the bass of the songs as a low static distortion while having the phone at maximum volume, if not, i hear nothing.
any ideas what it could be?

Poor connection, either headphones to jack or jack to PCB.
There's already a thread about this.

Its not poor connection, already checked that

HTC Headset microphone going bad?

i have an HTC Headphone set, that i got from a touch diamond, apparently when i was using it earlier the person on the other line was saying that they could hear static but when i used the USB Dongle with a pair of 3.5mm headphones they dont hear the static anymore, then i try to plug the headphones on the usb dongle along with the 3.5mm stereo headphones, i unplugged the stereo headset and left the HTC headphones on there, and the person said they dont hear static but when i take it out and just put the HTC headphones back in to the phone they could hear static
is there something wrong with the microphone on the headset? because i flashed a different ROM and still the same, but the good news is, is that i can hear audio from both ear pieces
plz help me out, thanks
I've had this happen to me before. Don't know why but a simple soft-reset seems to do the trick. BTW have you modified the Audiopara csv file to increase or decrease your volume in anyway? MAYBE that has something to do with it but don't quote me on that.
That stupid flimsy connector is breaking......well the wires inside are. I've been through 2 in 6 months

Atrix speaker ear/speakerphone

Hopefully this is in the right area. I am having an issue with my atrix speaker. My speakerphone stopped working about two weeks ago, I noticed this when listening to music. I was temporarily fixing the issue by twisting my phone a little. Now my earpiece is not working, I also have to twist the phone to get the earpiece to work. Anybody have any solutions?
I've been having weird issues with both the internal and external speaker. Most of the time I have to use speakerphone to answer it.
My solution was to use a bluetooth device.
I can't even use my external speaker because it cuts out. I took apart some of my phone, I can't figure out what the external speaker connects to or how it makes contact. And if I am reading different guides correctly the external speaker and ear speaker aren't connected on the same flex cable. The part you speak into works and so does the headphone jack.

Not the normal headphone jack issues...

I'm having trouble with my headphone jack. Audio only comes out if I start the sound on the speaker and then plug in. If I start with the headphones in I get nothing. Its odd. Running the new AOKP. Has been an issue since before that though. Not the usual static or tight jack problem.

Earphone jack

Hey friends, got this phone for a year now and I'm experiencing problems with my earphone jack. I have to twist the connector for the connection to be better. Any way to fix this? btw I do not have warranty anymore. Sony Singapore only offers 1 yr warranty.

Did you try other headphones.. Than this.. Coz. Sometimes the problem may be from headphones too
This happens to me as well, like when watching a movie.
I figured that dust particles can get stuck in the headphone jack, which makes the audio cut off.
Sometimes my phone wouldn't even detect the headphones and play audio through the speakers.
I clean the jack with a light stream of water everytime this happens, and it works fine.

Earphones only play audio on right

Hey
So been having this problem with my Z5C, where no matter what you put in the audio jack it will play normal volume on the right side, but super quiet on the left. And this is with any AUX, headphone, earphone etc etc.
But to resolve the problem I have to pull the cord out of the phone, about 1/2mm and both sides work fine. It is only when inserted fully this problem occurs.
Which sucks because I commonly bump the cord out with it not being in fully.
Does anyone else have this problem?
