(I searched, but with ~1700 hits, and no answer in the first dozen or so I checked ...)
Is there no place (even deep in the file system) where I can set the association between a file type and an app.?
(Yes, I know I can choose a default when the choice is presented, or clear that choice later if I want a different one.)
Not my question. Question is, where do I go to say <you stupid PDA> USE *THIS* app for -this- file type?
[Points to the answer in another thread, these are not calendar files but honest to goodness .xyz files.]

I set Tascal Search as the default FIND when cooking my ROM. In retrospect this was a mistake, however, I don't want to burn another ROM and go through the pain again so...
1. Can anyone tell me the file name of the Pocket PC FIND App so I can create a shortcut to it?
2. Tell me how to reset the default FIND function to point back to the original FIND app?

For the last 4-5 days I've been flooding the grey matter with the plethera of info from the site
I've searched (and read) and searched some more on several things that I just can't seem to find a "direct" answer to. If these questions have been answered in another post, please forgive me as I may have missed it in the 30-some IE windows I have open at any given time...
My questions are specfic to Sprint (I think):
Preface: I took the offical "stock" Sprint package and deconstructed it in order to remove the junk that I didn't want and use it as a base.
1) What EXACTLY is PPST.exe? I read that some say it is a must for Sprint users while others say it is not but no where have I found EXACTLY what it is. In the stock package I see PPST.EXE and ___PPPST.cab.
2) After deconstructing RUU_signed.nbh, I found some files that I can't seem to find explaination of... Unknown.nb, ExtROM.nb and OS.nb.extra
3) Do I need to include ExtROM.nb when I run NBHGEN.exe?
4) I think I read somewhere that I have to do something with OS.nb.extra when creating OS.nbh but for the life of me I can not find the thread.
5) Boot.rgu - I read that I need to extract this from the original ROM. I used XIP extractor (as suggested in the thread I read) but all it does is give me an XIP file (which I have no idea what to do with). I read threads on XIP but it seems like the newer tools already have this step baked in? In any event, how the heck do I extract Boot.rgu?
6) Lastly, I patched together what info I could and did what I believed to be the correct steps and have sucessfuly been able to build a custom ROM and flash with it. The ONLY problem I seem to be having is that when I go to Settings-->Phone to change ringers, it will not let me exit. I tap the 'x' and nothing. I have to tap Start-->Today and when I go back, my changes have not been saved.
-EDIT-
For #6 above, I believe the problem is with the Ring Tone setting. By pressing "x", the Ring Tone keep switching back to its default tone. If I tap Start-->Today to exit, all the setting will save correctly EXCEPT Ring Tone. Also, if I use Sounds and Notifications, same symptom. Everything saves correctly but the screen simply switches back to the the default Ring Tone and will not save or exit.
-EDIT-
For #4 above, I figured out what to do with OS.nb.extra. Lack of sleep had me mis-reading some instructions.
-EDIT-
For #3 above, I downloaded TFAT_Image_Editor and looked inside the ExtraROM.nb -- everyting makes A LOT more sense now about the file. Great tool for editing the ExtraROM.nb file!
HELP!
TIA!

Dear community !
After an extensive search and playing around with the registry I have to admit I didnĀ“t find a solution to my sepcific problem:
I am on Stock ROM 1.66/1921/WM 6.5
My problem:
When I wish to attach a photo/pdf/doc to my email the popup screen starts to screen my entire 32 GB mSD for files immediately without giving me the chance to select a folder FIRST BEFORE search starts.
Of course this now takes always some 5-8 minutes until the entire mSD card is scanned and ONLY THEN I can choose the MY Documents folder on the mSD
Does anyone know a tweak to make the popup WAIT UNTIL I choose a specific folder to scan ?
Might the tweak be in the registry, in an XML-file or somewhere else ?
(Or am I so stupid not find the answer which might have been given already on this ? )
EDIT: e.g. for album there is tweak to exclude certain folders or include only certain folders but nothing comparable for e-mail
BUMP .............
cheers folks,
even though i tried out searching the forums i did not find a adequate solution for my problem.
i'm running villainrom v1.4 on my samsung galaxy s2 (gt-i9100) and just installed call recording from the vrt-section.
call recording itself works fine (great job, pulser!!).
my problem is:
the language on my phone is set to german. since installinig the call recording tweak the telephonecall site (active call - dialing etc.) is in english language.
this leads me to two questions:
1. is it possible to re-adjust the language to german on the mentioned site while running this tweak?
and if this is not possible
2. how can i remove this single tweak (without removing the others?)
after reading reading reading and reading in the villain-tweak-section it appears that i would need to make some steps to kinda uninstall this tweak. what are the correct ones? as far as i know by now is something like this:
1. mount as rw
2. /sdcard/VRTweaks/backup/???????????
3. copy file
4. rename file
5. overwrite existing file in /system/???????/??????
so what files do i need to replace with which ones? is it one of phone_util.apk.bak, phone_util.odex.bak, phone.apk.bak? do i have to replace just one or all of them? and where is the correct file to not mess my phone up?
really appreciating your help!!
Sorry for double posting..
I didnt find a solution yet after 1day full of reading hete and in other forums..
I just think thaz i want to remove the call recording tweak and i need some advice to do so, please.
Thanks a lot
Greetings Comm
I would like to change the Bluetooth default folder from internal to external memory. Unfortunately I couldn't find any instructions on how to do so..
Besides this solution: "Automatic File Mover" (<- App Store), but honestly I would prefer a direct change of the default folder.
Thank you & best regards,

Weird..
I have asked the same question two years ago when Android 2.x was still something new. Now we have Android 4.x - and there is still now customisation for something simple like this?
