Well, I've finally given up on the hopes of getting an official ICS/JB update on my MoPho and I think I'm going to get the LG Optimus G with my upgrade.
Anyone else planning on bailing in the near future?
Yeah I'm just waiting for the galaxy note 2 to drop for Verizon then I'm gone

CM10 keeps me running nicely, so I'll probably stick around till at least the next Nexus phone is announced. Though with the way things have been going, there might not be LTE specific versions for us and since we aren't GSM, kind of sucks.

I would say it all depends on how well the development is coming along on the d3.
I've been on the Fassy since it launched and there hasn't been anything to pull me off it yet. I don't live in an LTE area yet so I'm just waiting to see what the Prime offers. Quite honestly even that might not get me to use my upgrade. Frankly by the time I get LTE in my town the SGS3 will be out.
I'd advise anyone eyeing an upgrade to wait this month out and see what the new Razr HD and Prime offer then decide
^^^what he said. But I do live in an lte area. I see no "need" personally for lte, 3g serves my data needs.
good day.
I am interested in trading my nexus for an unlocked note. I plan on using T-mobiles 4g on the note. The GPS is horrible on my nexus and the reason Im trading for the note is because I've read that it is great with gps. That's pretty much the only reason. What are your opinions, how is GPS on ur note? Let me know everything that u think. And I do plan on rooting the note.
Edit : I plan on running cm7 due to the responses here. I've read that it does great when it comes to GPS but I understand that its a hit or miss when it comes to GPS

GPS is hit or miss. Why not keep the nexus also? I'm starting to consider getting a gnex for when I don't want to lug this thing around, plus the updates. I've had this phone since release and have been waiting for ics for the source for the kernel got over clock and find myself waiting for jb ports now. GPS with ics radios is so so.

After the ICS update I can't get a hard lock without wifi on... Really sucks and there are a few more peeps with the same issue. It definitely was a winner with GB, but with ICS it's not (though I'm running stock ICS). If the price is right I say go for it, maybe you'll have better luck with Tmob 4G than I'm having with ATT LTE.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this, there are several of us who would be greatly appreciative.

I updated to stock jellybean. Deoxed and rooted of course. And GPS is working amazingly now. Like never before. I took it for a test run around my city and its just amazing now.

I am curious what smartphones have Photon 4G users have moved on to. I am still using the Photon 4G right now but as soon as Sprint releases the LG G2, I am gone.

I picked up the sprint galaxy nexus for 180 with 3 batteries and 4 cases. I had to send it in to Samsung though because the screen had some discoloration but i'm not complaining, I got a brand new screen
Moved on to Nexus 4 in Jan 2013. Donated my Motorola Electrify to a no-so-geek friend. He's happy!
I've always been with Sprint and I was happy with them. But I switched to Verizon for the first time solely for the Droid Maxx. Great phone and it really does have 2 day battery life

I'm switching back to Verizon in Nov. and am either going with the Moto X (probably) or the Droid Maxx. Maybe go with the Moto X after VZW gets the motomaker, and buy the dev edition of the Maxx.
I have moved on to the GS4 on VZW. Tired of Moto's broken promises and Sprint doesn't have service where I live now. Had to relocate for work.
On a side note it took a day to block the OTA, root, flash CWM, and install a buttery smooth release of CM 10.2. It's nice to be able to run CyanogenMod and have everything work properly.
I use the s4 and 5s but the 5s is too small and the g2 is really good too

Still stuck with PHOTON. But it will Nexus 5 as it releases.

With the latest update, it is very obvious that our evo lte is nearing the end of its supported lifespan (both sprint and dev community). Many of us who purchased the evo lte on the release date aren't eligible for an upgrade until 1/1/2014 which is really only a few months away. I usually try to keep my phones for a full 24 months so I want to go with a tri band lte phone and it seems that there are a few options. I am curious to find out what everyone is waiting for... At this point, I think I am holding out for the Nexus 5 although I have never owned a LG device so I am a bit apprehensive. Samsung mega is too big and I don't really want to wait until March/April for the GS5. Does anyone have any thoughts? Did I miss anything? How is the mod community for Samsung? LG?
Note 3(not tri-band)
LG G2 (October 11th - Preorder - Oct 25 release)
HTC One Max
LG Nexus 5 (Last week of October?)
Samsung Mega
Samsung GS5 (Q1).
Sorry to start yet another thread on this but I wasn't able to find anything recent or useful.
HTC One Max
Note 3 and ATT here I come.
The one max or if they make a cdma nexus. Note 3 international ed.

The nexus 5 radio does support the LTE 800 band which is exclusive to Sprint. While that isn't confirmation, it does make me hopeful.

the only thing preventing me from going to verizon & ATT is the data caps. I keep thinking what's the point of LTE if there's a cap? also having to actively think about whether i'm going over is not something i want to do. i'm looking more at tmobile, hopefully they are okay in illinois.
Probably the Nexus 5. But since I don't have an upgrade until May, I'll stick this one out with 4.3 and Sense 5 and wait for what HTC has to offer in 2014.
I'm waiting to see what htc will release next year

I'm going nexus 5 and ditching Sprint as soon as it comes out. For me, I've been wanting a nexus for the google supported updates, and a carrier free phone. The Sprint network is basically becoming a joke for me, with many places in Stl having no data connection at all. I hope the n5 is as affordable as the n4, and with the snapdragon 800, 1080p, 2gb specs it appears it will be top of the line this time. For the network, I will either join up on a shared tmo plan or get straight talk att.

Xiaomi sold out of 100,000 Mi3's in less than 90 seconds yesterday.
They sold out of 3000 MiTV's in less than 2 minutes also..
The Mi3 is too sick.
I hope Hugo brings Xiaomi over here soon.

regarding upgrading:
I decided on the NEXUS 5 after playing with my new-to-me e4glte for a week now. Great upgrade from my Evo3d. Sprint wanted $149 on upgrade, or $449 for the Nexus5. Wtf? its $349 from google??!?!
So I pulled a smooth move and bought a 32gig Iphone 5c for $199... then walked right down to gamestop and promptly got $448 plus 30% extra (bought a used game for a dollar) = $582. So minus my $199 purch price and I netted enough to pay cash for my Nex5 straight from google. SUCK IT SPRINT!
I'm all sort of excited to have a nexus finally. And I love that I can use the NEx5 on most carriers later. AND it will support "spark" from sprint
Friday im out of my verizon contract. Getting me a ATT g2. How stable are roms for this phone? I'm coming from the lg spectrum. I'm not used to this much development
