[Q] kernel help - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am using the rootbox 4.1.2 rom on gt-i9100 and I am now on siyah
I wanna change to other kernels but could anyone gimme some suggestions?

Why do you want to change to other kernels? Siyah is a great kernel, with great stability.

I use rootbox 1.8 with dreamkernel 2.7.
So try a version of dreamkernel.

[Q] CM9 & Siyah

Hello!
I was wondering if anyone here uses CM9 with siyah kerenl 4.1.5, and if it causes any bugs? Just when i had stock ICS with siyah I'd get SOD and I dont want that on CM9. Just i really love the BLN. Thanks in advance

[Q] how to install resurrection remix 3.1.3 with siyah?

Hi.
I like the siyah kernel. However if I try to update my ROM from 3.1.2 to 3.1.3 and choose custom... it gives me 2 kernels to choose from... not syrah.
How do I keep my kernel???

Simple.
After installing rom just go back into recovery and flash Siyah.
I think you shouldn't flash siyah kernel its not working good with 4.2.1 ROMs better flash largest version of dorinmax kernel it's a moded version of siyah and better that's why it isn't included and I think you try rootbox rom RR 3.1.3 is buggy there are official version of rootbox and nightlies

There is a vsync patched version of Siyah that apparently works fine with 4.2.1, however there is limitations on features of kernel.

[Q] Is there a kernel that works on the stock ROM or another stock based ROM?

I'm using a stock based ROM (I think), it's the simplicity one, my question is, is there a kernel I can flash so I can overclock or underclock the CPU? Also, will I have any bugs if I change the kernel?
Thanks in advance.
No kernel for our device can overclock till now, but all of them can however underclock.
Except the CM specific kernels, all kernels in our section will work on simplicity or any other stock based ROM.
For bugs, you'll have to check the OP of the kernel you want to install. There are hardly any bugs btw.

If siyah kernel is stock based then it should be compatible. Try to make a backup to be sure and then flash the kernel, else just reflash neatrom
ok thank you for the reply... :good:

Here is a better answer. YES! Use siyah kernel 6 beta5 for neatrom (stock based). However, I'd advise that you should try a different kernel such as the included Apollo kernel since siyah kernel has stopped development and you will have to use dorimanx kernel for a more updated kernel. So I'd use Apollo kernel.
