[Q] Jumping screen problem (After the bootloader fix) - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey.
I have Samsung Tab 10.1 GT-P7510(Wifi version I think), after updating it to official ICS, instaling CWM via Odin, the screen in recovery mode is jumping.
Searched the forum, found the bootloader fix, the recovery stopped jumping, I rooted the devise, flashed new ROM (Revolution something), and every time the screen is turning off it is starting to jump again, the only way of fixing it is to restart the devise until the screen deems again, or instal the stock ROM to fix it permamently, but it sucks.
The only solution that I found on the forum was the bootloader I already installed.
Can any one help a noob pls?
Thank you

I have the same problem and still suffering from it i did not found any material to fix it. Lets see may be some one will help us...

It is what is stopping me from rooting my ICS Stock version. CWM load results in rolling recovery screen and fixing that with bootloader results in rolling wake-up screen. Have reloaded HC 3.2 and run the ICS update again to fix it. This has been covered in quite a few other threads, but none of them is fixing Stock ICS rooting... CM10 or equivalent ROMs will remove that problem, but I am still under warranty, and if something happens...

Hey guys, FYI I I had the Rolling problems Recovery and wake! but I recieved my P7510 back from samsung repair, I bricked it....and it came back with factory installed ICS on it I swore I was not going to Root or try ROMs for awhile!
Three days later I had flashed;
Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) 2.2.2.1 - GT-P7510 HERE via Odin.
Toldo's "Stock ICS roms, rooted, deodexed, zipaligned UELPL" for GT-P7510 aka the WiFi tab from HERE. With no rolling Recovery or from wake!
Then I decided to flash via TWRP, Toldo's JellyBeanRom ICS v7 from HERE then flashed Yoda's Kernel v2.2 from HERE No Rolling anything I love how my Tab is running now!
I have not tried CWM as of yet but try out TWRP, I didn't get any rolling with just TWRP and Factory installed ICS and if you want a good Stock Rooted ICS HERE!
It's just 2 flashes a way it will take less time than troubleshooting and waiting for an answer!

I had the same problem you are having when I first tried installing pershoot's recovery and bootloader for CM10.
Here is how I fixed it:
1. Flash recovery via odin. When tab reboots hold volume down to boot into download mode.
2. Flash bootloader via odin, When tab reboots hold volume down to enter recovery.
3. Wipe cache and davlik, flash ROM.
During this process my tab would get the rolling screen during the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 screen and wouldn't stop after each step if I didn't hold down volume key during reboot.
Now I am on CM10 with no rolling screen and no SOD.
Hope this helps.

FYI... I flashed the bootloader and the recovery through the PDA slot on odin.

Exactly the same problem here, I tried countless ways but none is working, currently downloading the UK version ICS to see if the same problem will occur or not
EDIT: Same problem as before

What is cousing this problem? Not every one have this but it is pretty common, is it the soft or the hardware?
Trying all the solutions now...

The recovery process described here:
http://www.androidauthority.com/gal...kmod-recovery-5-5-0-4-custom-recovery-102580/
Should install 5.5.0.4, which works for me. Assuming, of course, that you're device is a P7510.

The thing is , i get flickers only when i press "lock" or that the screen shuts itself off , after that, if i try pressing on the screen , it flickers. Not sure if everyone is that problem.

Yes, I have the same problem so I guess everyone does, anyway I'm getting used to rebooting it whenever I need to use it
Anyone tried another recovery program other than CMW here?

Go to http://droidbasement.com/galaxy/roms/cm10/p4wifi/
Download and unzip 4.0.4 booatloader ZIP.
Download recovery.tar.md5
I had to play with it a few times to get it to work but I flashed both of them via the PDA slot in odin. I also didn't change the file name in anyway before I flashed them.
This is what i used to fix my rolling screen which rendered my tablet useless, I still get a flicker from time to time when using the tablet in general. I believe this is a problem with the rom and not with the bootloader or recovery.

Found a solution, not the best, but it is working for me.
The problem was in the bootloader, it was trashing the ROMs, so I installed 5.5.4.0 memoriezed the path to the .zip in the recovery mod, flashed stock ICS, flashed recovery, placed the ROM.zip in the general directory on the tablet, booted to recovery.
It was rolling, the path is
Volume Up (Right) - Instal zip
Power - Enter
Power - Choose zip from internat sd card
Volume Down (Left) - ***Go Back***
Volume Down (Left) - is the last file\dir in the list, if you plase only the rom there, you cant miss.
Power (Enter aka install this)
Volume down x5 times to go from no to yes
Power (Enter) Wait to install to complete a few minets, you will see the color change in the flickering ><
Volume Down (Left) - Go Back
Power - Enter
Power - Reboot Now
The new rom installed, working (For me atleast), the recovery is still broken, but if you leave only one .zip file there you can use this path every time.
This is for desperate ppl like me, that none of the solutions above worked for them. It workes on CWM 5.8.X.X too
Hope I helped.
Still waiting for a normal fix

[Q] Stuck on bootloop.. Can´t enter recovery

So.. I was using my phone normally .. but suddenly my phone went very very slow and then I turned off... I was running Unnamed rom.
But here is the deal , the phone didnt woke up! I mean , The phone got stucked into a boot loop , So I treid to enter into recovery with no luck!... Then I managed to go into download mode without any problem.
So after that I restored the phone to stock (One click root odin) . BUT the phone is still showing the Galaxy S Screen Boot loop.
HELP!
I´ve tried many things.. 2 Laptops and PC´s , ports , etc.. I also removed the sim card and the micro sd , but that didnt do anything.
So , any suggestion?
PS: Sorry 4 my english
I'm going to assume that you flashed UCKH7, either the stock without root, or the stock with root one click downloader. If you flashed something different than one of these, let me know.
Since you flashed the stock package successfully, you should now be able to get into 3e recovery by holding vol+ vol- and power buttons. Once in 3e recovery, you should do a wipe data/factory reset and your phone should then boot normally.
If you are unable to get into 3e recovery, then there is some sort of unusual problem, so post back here and we'll try to find out what it is.

If you can't get into recovery using the three button technique then there is something seriously wrong with your phone.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Yes... I'm thinking possible hardware issue. But since you can still get download mode, I'd try flashing the full stock package which you can get from the Download Repository. The one you already flashed did not contain the bootloaders and other stuff. If that doesn't clear it up, then I'm thinking repair or replace.
Noob question.. Where I can find the download repository?
thanks

[Q] Flashed RazoDroid.. Stuck at Ace logo!

First time i rooted my phone, flashed CWM, everything was fine.. Then I flashed RazoDroid and after that phone is stuck at boot logo of ace and isn't booting forward.
I tried going to downloading and recovery mode but I am not able to access any of the two. Tried the volume+home+power button combo but nothing works!
Any suggestions for unbricking my phone or bringing it to senses???
Recovery is power + home. (correct me if i am wrong)
If you are unable to do anything there is a guide to flash stock rom.
Have a look to it.

You all newbies just create new threads before searching
XDA should make a rule about this thread making
It would be better than 10 post rule

So I will help by saying if you can not find a way to fix your installation then unbricking tutorial can be found in the stickies at the top and are easy to follow just double check every step. This will involve returning to stock firmware found here or at Samfireware.com. to get into 'download' or 'odin' mode you are best to turn phone off completely, then hold power button and BOTH volume buttons down, then when it warns you not to flash firmwares press vol up to say its ok, then your in download mode.
Once at stock again (and your happy to do it again) try to follow the tutorial again. Were you using the latest CWM version of Raef's kernel as that can only work on EXT4 file system, as standard our 'i' device is RFS file system so the E3 version is the way to go.
.....but then I have been a n00b and not looked at the RazoDroid thread to see what file system it installs on or even if it comes with a custom kernel or not. If it does not include a kernel flashing (using Odin) the latest odin version of Raef's kernel may fix it.
Links to kernels are in the dev forum where you found the rom ^^

[GT-P7500] Won't BOOTUP at all! Even after flashing Firmware through ODIN

=======
Please Note : After a LOT of searching on XDA Forums and various different ones Google told me and after trying every possible way. I am making this thread.
=======
Hello Members,
Well, about a week back my friend gives me a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 [GT-P7500] (WiFi+3G) and challenges me to fix it.
So, I bring it home try to boot up, well it does not! Long power press din't work, after reading some posts on other threads here I was able to get it to boot by using the Long Power Press and tapping the screen and then I see the Galaxy Tab logo but it won't go any further its stuck over there.
After that I went for the download mode to see i can do anything with ODIN3 I was able to boot into Download Mode, I Downloaded all the required files, such as ODIN3 , Stock Firmware for GT-P7500 and I successfully completed the ODIN process but IT IS STILL STUCK ON BOOT LOGO and No matter any recovery i flash through ODIN i cannot get into Recovery not even stock. I have tried CWM, STOCK various different ones too but no avail.
So , What I can access? :
1) Download Mode
2) APX (POWER + VOL UP)
Anyway to FIX this and put a Custom or STOCK ROM to get the TAB working again?
Thanks,
Seriously??? No one??
I tried flashing the Stock Honeycomb version today.. same thing it will complete the ODIN process but when it auto reboots its stuck on boot logo and no stock recovery access please help!

Have you tried flashing just a new recovery? You need to get into recovery so you can wipe data/factory reset.
On a lot of samsung devices, you have to uncheck auto reboot, and take the battery out after its done flashing. This has something to do with Samsung's security. Is there any way to do this on a galaxy tab? If so it might make it work. If not, you could try holding the power button after its done flashing (with auto reboot unchecked) until it forces a shutdown. If that doesn't work, you could try and let it run out of battery after its done flashing.

Did you ever get this working? I have a SCH-i905 and have experienced the EXACT same issue.
having same isue but i can get into recovery.. after flash im stuck on boot.. even trough odin it's a no go..
i have no idea what to do now as all firmware i can find are hosted on hotfile and that site is closed down.
if anyone has an idea i an willing to try it
At first find ODIN, install Android SDK and adb on PC.
Try to flash latest original 4.0.4 ICS from sam site.
Download and install clockworkmod recovery through ODIN, you can download it from clockworkmod[dot]org website.
Voila! You now can flash all custom roms from SGT Android Development forum!!!
---------- Post added at 04:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:03 PM ----------
P.S. Don't forget to make a FULL WIPE in CM before install a new ROM! Full wipe is recommended always before installing new rom!!!
you can try to open (android system recovery) after install custom rom and then do a wipe data/factory reset
steps
1- power off the tap
2- click on (volume up button + power button )
3 - choose data/factory reset
4-yes
5- reboot your tap
this work for me you can try it
same issue
I have exactly the same problem I have the tablet GT-P7500UWVVTR but impossible to find the original firmware with this tablet. I tried to flash with a firmware with ICS because my build stop at honeycomb and after doing that impossible to going back it stop at the startup with galaxy tab 10.1.
I don't have the original firmware.
All the firmware with p7500 (D or W or R) doesn't work
I can only access to the Odin download mode
When I tried to enter the reset factory it reboot the tab but never enter in the menu
Could anyone have the stock firmware for the GT-P7500UWVVTR after I will root the tablet and install a custom rom to hace ICS
Thanks in advance everyone

Strange Bootloop

I'm encoutering this issue with a Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 (Intl).
The phone randomly got into a bootloop by itself, and since then I could never boot it up. I managed to miraculously boot it once or twice, but then after awhile it went back into bootloop. I can get into download mode/recovery, but the problem is in recovery I am UNABLE TO SELECT anything. Tried power button/home button to select, I can't. Volume buttons work fine.
Here's what I've tried (in no particular order):
Installed Philz CWM touch to do the wipe
Flashed CM10.1.3 / CM10.2
Flashed CWM 6.0.2.9 as recommended on the CM thread (The buttons work fine with this)
Flashed Stock ROM (I9100DXLSD Singapore Stardhub)
Flashed Siyah Kernel and tried to wipe
Another problem is that everytime I flashed CM, the recovery gets overwritten by CWM 6.0.3.8 regardless of the type of recovery I am using at that point. When this happens I am UNABLE TO SELECT anything. Appreciate if anyone has any ideas. Thanks!
Urgently need help here. Nobody? D:
Try to use the odin to flash the kernel use dorimanx (9.xx is for aokp, cm... and the 8.xx is for stock sammy) flash that and do a full wipe with it, download a ROM and go to mount and storage in cwm and mount usb so that you can put the ROM on the phone. Now go to mounts and storage again and format system, (dont reboot after format system, AFTER YOU FLASH THE ROM REBOOT), then flash it.
Ask if you need something more!

Thank you for the response.
I tried the method but it doesn't seem to work. I managed to boot the phone though, strange way of doing it. All I had to do, was hold the the power button until about 3 seconds into the boot animation (the spinning Cyanogenmod, or the one with the Samsung signature tone), and the phone will boot up.
Once again CM went ahead and overwrote my recovery, bringing it back to the recovery that I cannot use. I'd like to know how I can replace this recovery with a touch one. Flashing say Philz touch recovery using Odin will render the phone unable to boot. Even flashing CWM 6.0.2.9 as recommended by the CM team (the one that prevents MMC-SUPERBRICK) will not allow me to boot the phone.
Also ROM Manager wouldn't let me flash a touch recovery unless I give them some money. Any other method to flash a touch recovery?
The Philz kernel is for sammy roms only I think. Did you do a wipe with a script https://db.tt/42o0ebwz . Just run it in cwm and you can try and flash the kernel through cwm again. Report back.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Yes you're right it's for Sammy ROMs I missed that part out, my bad.
BTW what do I do with the script? I've never used it before.
You flash it before flashing a new ROM. It basically removes parts of the phone that they maybe can make some isues with the ROM that you are flashing.

Alright I'll give it shot and report back. Gotta get some work done atm thanks a lot for your help so far!
With regards to recovery it's not that important since the phone works now more or less.

Sorry for taking awhile to reply. The wipe script doesn't seem to work, but it's alright.
Now I've got another question. Is there any way to add a power menu tile to quick settings so I can access the power menu to shut down the phone since the power button doesn't respond on mine. (I can turn on the phone, but it doesn't respond to anything else) I can't find any threads that provide such a mod, and can't be sure if AOKP has it 'cause I can't find a list of features for quick settings.
Something like what you see here. Can't seem to find any hint of him sharing it anywhere.
Apps that provide power menu functionality seems to freeze the phone upon shutdown, so they don't work. I'm trying to see if I can shut down the phone with the "official" shut down menu.

[Q] Boot loop

Hi guys,
Yesterday I finally got to instal a new ROM onto my phone. I've done this before so my phone was already rooted and had the bootloader unlocked. I decided t ogo with Cyanogenmod10. My build was 4.1.B.0.587. I used the tutorial on cyanogenmod wiki and done everything as was said, step by step. I wasn't sure if ClockworkMod would be installed with the rom, so I donwload x-tools and isntalled it form there. Once thaat was done I proceeded to installiion. Everything went fine up until getting into CWM. I am now stuck in a boot loop, constaltly showing the xpera free project logo, then the screen goes dark and this all over and over again. So I searched the net and forums, but couldn't find any one with this problem. Most people either get into CWM and from there can't get further, or they turned the phone on adn after using some application theirs system crashes, but nobody seems to have problems with CWM. I can't get anywhere from here and have no idea what to do. If somebody could please help me, I would be very gratefull! Thanks

Hmmm...CWM is already available as built-in inside the custom kernel...no need to install recovery using x-tools anymore...just flash the kernel (boot.img) using flashtool...

you have to wait until the LED appears then you can press volume down (you can also try volume up or power button) to enter recovery....but i suggest you flash stock rom back first and make sure that your phone can boot fine...then flash custom kernel and flash CM10 in recovery...

Hmmm...i said flash stock ROM not stock kernel...if you phone boot fine using stock kernel then you flash fxp kernel (custom kernel) and boot into CWM...no need to flash CWM separately cause CWM is already inside custom kernel...

WTF... So I charged my phone first so I reach the recommended 85%... Meanwhile I redownloaded the CM10 if it wasn't a bad downnload or something, from the original website. Once that was done, I turned my phone off, turned flashtool on a connected my phone in fastboot mode. I then flashed the kernel with boot.img from CM, unplugged and turned the phone off, waitign for the logo, pressed the volume down button many times and ntohing. I tried multiple times, different buttons too. Still the same. What can I be doing wrong?

When I have the phone flashed with stock kernel I can get into the CMW recovery. Trying to install CM with the stock kernel is i guess not a good idea right?
EDIT: So I tried downloading CW9 if that wouldn't make a difference, but it's the same story. Once I boot the phone it just keeps looping from the logo to black screen, no LED lights up, nothing. What if I did a factory reset either from CWM or in the normally booted? Could that help in anyway?

Hmmmm...how many times did i have to tell you, you need to FLASH STOCK ROM first...stock rom has stock kernel inside it...flashing STOCK rom will factory reset your phone...it should make your phone like new...after your phone boot normally then you can flash custom kernel (fxp kernel) and boot into recovery using that kernel...then only then you can flash CM10 into your phone....

Hi guys,
Yesterday I finally got to instal a new ROM onto my phone. Thanks
John

probably bcuz u used CWM located in phone storage & deleted it. happens.
to shorten here all, i advice u to use allways kernels (built in) recovery. (forget about xparts its onlx for locked bl ppl)
also if u want to go for a cm (10+) build try LX from here bcuz FXP is NO longer supported! they kleave us. also its very outdated/old/bad
if u flash (any) kernel CWM is inbuilt, so just reflash the kernel using fastboot (cmd commands) , then on power on press the vol up button moretimes!! to enter CWM (must work) i really advice u to use some LX build. (dont forget to wipe partitions bfore flash)

Okay guys, I'm really confused right now. I just couldn't manage to boot into CWM with CM, I tried many versions, none worked. I then applied the exact same steps onto LX and it worked perfectly, I was in CWM after pressing the volume down butto na few times. Now it's been almost a month since I did this and I wanted to change to a differet version again, so I wanted to try CM again, but it's the same thing, I can't get to CWM. Any ideas?
Thanks
