Hello there,
I had installed many apps in my phone.
Let's say I installed 100 apps and there was no any problem.
But strangely, after I install new MODs , new ROMs, etc,
I want to restore all my apps (After wiping data and cache) with titanium backup.
But the installation failed and my phone said, "not enough free space on device"
How could it even possible?
I restore exactly the same apps, the same quantity, and the same data.
How could it no enough free space?
I checked using root explorer, there was still a lot of memory on device.
Any help?
Please?
Thankyou so much.

My software on my droid x2 isn't doing good. From what I have seen something will happen in the background that causes all my system apps to restart, only they never finish restarting which begins to devour my memory and eventually leads to my phone freezing up. Also the ringtones like to change randomly to default (alarms set in third party apps too).
I was hoping rooting and getting rid of bloatware would solve this problem but it is still persisting. I thought I could restore backed up system apps with Titanium Backup so I was removing the apps. I'll leave them "restoring" for 45 minutes with no luck (I tried both just restoring the app and restoring both apps and data). So apparently it doesn't work like that.
My question is if I do a factory reset with my phone in its current condition, will I have an issue?
If u diddnt freeze the apps then you might. Did u back them up before u removed them?

Yes I backed up all of them, but when I go to restore them it doesn't work. It just keeps restoring them eternally. I waited 45 minutes for app only restore and it wasn't done.
If I am just clearing data in the process of a factory reset, can I maybe wipe data manually or with a tool that wipes data?
Anyone know the answer to this? I tried installing from the apk pack of services, but not all of them would install. My phone really needs a factory reset, I'm getting a lot of software related errors.
Could I maybe manually wipe certain apps? If anyone happens to know which built in apps are okay to wipe I would like to know.

Yes you can wipe an apps data. Go to applications in the settings menu and then click on the app you want to clear and select clear data.

Not all the apps in system can be installed via tapping on them. They need to be manually moved to system/app then change permissions. You can copy all over using root explorer

Hey nitro... Glad to see you here! Do your future plans include developing for the X2. I was feeling the dark ROMs you supported on the Fascinate!

Nothing. You will just have a rooted out of the box fresh condition phone.

All you need to do is swap internal and external mount points. My Eclipse ROM has this built in. There is an init.d script that is floating around here that will do it as well.

sorry sir i am novice in this field and dont know about software development or scripting. and dont want to replace or flash my original rom with other. because i also tried to backup my original rom with rom manager, but this **** phone is so weird , no trick works in it, somewhere i read that it is ubifs or something why it didnt work. so can u please mention step by step procedure in easy language so that i can understand how can i increase internal memory.
hi all i've been losing alot of my storage cause of link2sd ..each time i flash a rom and restore my apps via tita backup my old apps are gone ...but link2sd's old app are still being used ...hard to explain ..erm ...
eg . i have 2.88GB space ...in installed a few apps and they are linked the space became 2.82GB ...then i flash a new rom the space is still 2.82GB but the linked app is not usable ...so any solution?
i am pretty sure i am losing about 500mbs..just cause i don't know where the apps are..
Try finding it in /sd-ext/
May be the partition would hav formatted!! Check the /SD-EXT/ once..
Before you wan to swich to new rom make sure u backup all data apps and remove link....if out of space uninstall apps....dont worry you already back up that apps + data....then use link2sd clear your 2nd partition then flash your new rom....

I'm getting an "insufficient storage" error on installing apps from Google Play (even small 6mb apps). I find if i delete several apps and run it again it works (there is apparently 470MB free despite this).
I've seen references to changing settings so that Google Play installs to the SD card but cant figure out which apply here. And also to clearing the cache for applications (in the TWRP app perhaps?).
I've run the jmz script from the Nabi 2 root thread, but I think I'm missing a step or two (although apps do in fact install, which they wouldn't before).
Any thoughts here...
Thanks

Is it possible to just run this command to force google play to use the external sd card via adb?
adb shell pm setInstallLocation 2
*where 0 means default.
I moved the TWRP unrooted backup from sdcard (internal) to sdcard2 (external). That freed up about 1 GB. If you are using Titanium Backup, it's also saving to the internal storage. Set that similarly. Yes, having trouble myself despite about the same free space shown.
Edit: Spelling correction
Edit x2: Also this thread has info on a DirectoryBind tool that will force apps to put their extra data to sdcard2. I'm having trouble at the moment getting that done at the moment (see a later post there).

Backup location?
Noob question, but where (which directory) is that backup file in the internal memory?
Not having the device with me, I recall it was something like /mnt/sdcard/Titanium Backup or something similar. You can check within TB's settings and change the directory to store to, basically by adding the numeral two after sdcard, like /mnt/sdcard2/Titanium Backup.

Backup
I am sorry, I was refering to the backup created when using the steps on the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1905674
I did not us the Titanium Backup.
If you mean the stock unrooted image, that would be inside the TWRP folder, under another folder which is based off your nabi's serial number, I recall.

Edit: Corrected a word spelling prediction messed up for me.
help with insufficient storage errors
I rooted my son's nabi 2 a couple of months ago and everything seemed to work fine. It has now started to show that it is running out of space and giving me the insufficient storage error when I try to install an app. I deleted several apps which showed up as significant room available (about 450 mb) , but I still cannot install any apps (even small ones). Should I unroot it and try again (what's the procedure for that) and/or how can I get the apps over to a sd card.
Thanks much in advance for any help.
Re: Nabi 2 Tablet Google Play error "insufficient storage" on installing apps?
Mine is the same way. I juggle what apps to remove so I can fit new ones in. I don't think you need to start over.
Make sure you don't have TWRP backups on /mnt/sdcard. If you use Titanium Backup, make sure to set it's backup directory to sdcard2. It goes to sdcard by default. Move/remove the Lori B... videos on sdcard. I found huge thumbnail files inside DCIM/thumbs, hundreds of MB. Delete those.
Some apps consume a huge data space. My First Trainz Set downloads >400 MB even with the low space warning in and not able to load other apps. Deleting data from certain apps like that can get you a quick shot at getting another app in.

My moms phone is giving her an insufficient storage message when trying to update apps. She is unrooted stock and I live nowhere near her to have a fix of it myself.
She just nights a 16gb card for it too and moved Hey pics and music onto it but still giving the same message.
All my Google efforts just showed threads regarding rooted phones with root only solutions, so is there a fix for this.?
backup your personal data and try wiping data and cache from stock recovery.

Did you say update apps?
Try backup current apps, and then uninstall this "update app ", install newer version of this "update app "
But kinda hard to back it up without root access...

I can't quite understand what your asking, but it sounds like you are running out of space, is that right?
If you are having issues with strange files that you don't know what they are taking up lots of space, I would recommend using TitaniumBackup to backup all your applications with data, then do a data factory reset, then VERY SELECTIVELY restore applications with data, ONLY restore the application data that you are 100% sure about, like games you're playing, contacts storage, SMS storage, things like that. Don't be afraid to restore apps 1 at a time checking each time that you aren't getting a rediculous amount of space being taken up.
Sometimes when things get messy a factory reset is the best thing you can do.
Hope this helps.

Only thing I could find anywhere about it was a random thread from the Baidu forum, which Chinese translated to English via Google makes for an interesting read: http://tieba.baidu.com/p/2336554174 and someone else on XDA that asked the same question but no one answered. Seems like from the Baidu thread that they deleted the files and the phone didn't break. The files inside the /data/core folder were gone after factory reset, and no one was sure what app or part of the system created the files or what they were for.
thank you very much for your reply...i moved those files in other location to see if anything is wrong.... after using some minutes i rebooted my device... the core files didn't respawn... i just freed 387 mb form phone storage..... once again... thank you sir!!!:good:
