is there anyone in south florida who's an android expert who'll tinker with my sgp for me? ill pay you...ive been on reading and searching on this form for about 5 hours now and im left with even more questions and more confused. have i said ill pay you?
No offence but this seems a bit dodgy. Most of the stuff available on here is free and there are many people who can answer your questions so you don't need to pay anyone to help you

ok ill run my problem in this thread too, maybe i can get this working. i posted this question/problem in another thread too and i dont know how to reference via link to other thread thru my SGP so forgive me for double posting.
this is what i did, i downloaded dd_03052012.zip from entropy. unzipped it in winrar. then when i tried adding the tar to pda section of odin, it wasn't there (but if i were to open its folder thru win explorer then i would see it) just odin wasn't recognizing it. so i renamed the zimage file with .tar at the end, now odin sees it so i go ahead and add it into pda field and push start (player was in download mode) odin said reset....then after a couple secs it said passed! and then it reboot itself...still stock kernal. please help, I've literally been working on this for twelve hours with a break to go grocery shopping thanks in advance.
(all im trying to accomplish right now is gettin cwm)
Sent from my YP-G70 using xda app-developers app
How to flash .zip releases:
Put it on your sdcard, enter CWM, flash the .zip using CWM
If you do not have CWM, install an older .tar release then flash, or follow the "Any rooted device" instructions above, but extract the zImage from the .zip instead of a .tar

this is from the thread itself. It also says to read the first 3 posts fully before flashing so that might be a good idea

i know..I've read every post on every page in that thread as well as several other threads.
and ive also tried that method u mentioned from the post. but after i installed the initial tar file (so i can have the cwm) my player is still at oem kernel, even tho it said passed in odin. I've checked and unchecked my steps, i dont know what im young wrong. im just trying to make nandroid backup before i do anything else. thanks

1 .Go to the OP (Original Post) of this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445840&highlight=entropy512
2. Download this kernel:
DD_01142012.tarThen, place it on the desktop directory, or an otherwise easily accessible directory, on your computer.
Do not attempt to unzip it or manipulate it in any way!
3. Run ODIN.
4. Now, put your SGP into download mode by holding the volume down + power button until your device turns back on with a yellow construction-like sign.
5. Insert USB cable now, and ensure that ODIN has recognized the device by looking to see if a device is registered in the ID:COM field.
You should see something like this: 0:[COM11]
Now, you're ready to flash the kernel!
6. In the ODIN interface, press the PDA button and navigate to the directory where you saved the kernel you downloaded and double-click to open.
7. Now press START and wait about 20 ~ 30 seconds to finish the flash.
As this is but a kernel, and not a ROM, the flash time will be short!
8. ODIN WILL REBOOT YOUR DEVICE FOR YOU!
9. Now you should have entropy512's kernel on your device.
Good Luck!:good:
P.S. - Once you've flashed the original .tar file, you should have CWM active on your device. From this point forward, you should put entropy512's kernel updates on your SD Card and flash them from CWM and NOT ODIN!
You have to flash the CWM.tar in Odin PRIOR to even TRYING to install the kernel.
Once you have CWM, place the dd_1234567etc.zip AS IS in the root of ext sdcard.
Flash .zip in CWM.
Done.

dude..i LOVE u!! thank u sooo friggin much ur help. i actually did all of that exactly last night but to no avail. but what you did to help me was when you said something like 'download the tar and dont unzip it or manipulate it in any way'...i never unzipped it before either but when i downloaded it, winrar would automatically turn it into a 'winrar' file. so in a sense, my computer was "manipulating" it, so i uninstalled winrar (7zip is better anyways) and voila, everythings kosher. thanks dude. i wouldve never have thought of that if it wasnt for that one piece of instruction.
so i have done entropys updates yet, but when i powered it off to try out cwm (it was still plugged into cpu) it powered off and kept re-cycling the powering off action, until i disconnected it from cpu and everything was fine. i wonder if thats normal. anyhow, i trust the rest of my tinkering will fruitfull...thanks again bro.

What you mentioned is a known bug. It is kernel related. You cannot charge via USB plugged into a computer. Although, can charge via USB plugged into a wall.
In order to get to CWM mode (aka recovery mode) follow these steps:
1. Press and hold Power + Volume UP
2. The device will reboot and you'll see the Samsung logo. Don't let go yet!
3. The device will reboot once again. When you see the Samsung logo, let go of only the power button.
4. You should now be in recovery mode.
This is how I do it on my SGP 5.0 Korean model. The USA model may be different, and you may be able to skip STEP 3.
Ok sweet...well ive literally been playin around with this player since we spoke last. Im makin it tailored to my liking, however, theres one big and one small problem im having. The small one which isnt really anything is that when the players off and i plug it into wall charger the battery screen pops up but it doesnt display any juice in it - so im not even sure its charging in off mode, but it charges while its on no problem. Big problem is that when i have my earplugs plugged in, the player randomly owers the volume all the way to mute by itself and after i raise vol again it lowers it back down. But once i unplug earphones then the vol behaves again. I dont think its the earphones cuz theyre bose and i doubt they would make a faulty product (although its possible i suppose). Other than those two problems, everythings perfect. Any ideas? Tried doing a search on volume bug to no avail. Thanks!

A couple of questions:
1. What ROM are you using? *
2. What app are you using to listen to music? **
*The reason I ask is because the charging issue could be a ROM issue. I am running Supermaster34's CM9 build on my SGP 5.0 Korean model and if I charge my device while powered off I can see the juice registering in the battery. It could also be a kernel issue. Since I have a Korean model, I use an entirely different kernel, which could provide an entirely different outcome.
**As for the volume issue, I thought that it could be software related. Be sure there is not a automatic volume minimizer setting within the app itself. It could also be kernel or ROM related.
I am not an expert on kernel or ROM issues, but there are definitely people in this forum that could give you a proper developer's response. But, go ahead and answer those questions and I'll see what I can help you with.

Not necessarily. GB doesn't manage ram too well IMO so games still tend to lag at times. ICS has better ram management, its still not perfect, but most games run pretty smoothly

If you're not too adamant about using the camera on your device, I'd say Supermaster34's CM9 build is a great way to go. He even put together a Bluetooth patch, so really the only things that aren't working on CM9 for the SGP 5.0 are the camera and hardware acceleration.
Like I mentioned earlier, that's the ROM I use, and I don't have any volume or RAM issues. In most instances, CM9 runs quite smooth for me, except for a couple widgets that really need hardware acceleration to be optimal (and, I stress the word optimal).
Better yet, we have some amazing developers in the SGP forum that are working tirelessly to get CM10 (Jelly Bean) working on our devices, along with a 3.x kernel for hardware acceleration and addressing other bug issues.
Worst case scenario, you could use stock ROM rooted for optimal performance.
Sorry to throw my two cents in but if you want to keep your camera, format the file system to ext4. If your fimilar to quadrent benchmark, this is my score after the ext4 file system tweak. I compared it to my dad's SGP 5 with the same rom and he got under 1300 so this tweak is a must have.

ive new with android as far as the mechanics of the software(s) and stuff so i dont understand the differences of each, the pros/cons of each, and/or which one is tailored to my life. theres so much info on these forums and i just get caught up reading about one thing, then i see something in that post that i want to search on, so i search for info on that and before i know it, my firefox is filled with tabs up the wazooo..lol....and then i forget what i initially was searching for. i guess im just gonna have to keep flashing roms until i find one i like the best? is that what you did in the beginning? is it good to keep flashing roms like that?...im now using chip rom and i love it so far, but i guess i cant say i like it the best cuz i dont know what to compare it to =/ ...or even WHAT im trying to compare, i guess the speed, interface, if it makes any features less functional on device...?

My friend, that's what we all do around here. Flash as many ROMs as you like. Just be sure to always keep a backup in CWM recovery! Also, take care to flash ROMs that are meant for your device. Always read the OP of any ROM's thread to make sure there is no technical detail overlooked.
Be cautious, but have fun.:good:
cool..well im going to tryout supermasters rom right now...wish me luck. and forgive me if this is a dumb question but are all launchers compatible with all roms? or just the launchers that are packaged with it?

Hey all, Android + Thunderbolt + XDA Noob in the house (nice video)
I tried to download perfect storm and then gingeritis, only to see that anything linked through themilk.com seems to have gone down! Been down since last night.
I'm rooted, backed up, using clockwock, looking for a stable Rom. Have tried GB debloated and froyo debloated, was more impressed with froyo due to the lack of bugginess. In GB for example, I could not mount the SD card into windows because , apparently, it required different drivers which i was not able to find. Perfect storm caught my eye as a very efficient Froyo that is compatible with MR2 (which i upgraded, because i wanted the option to switch to CDMA only when im at work, which is literally 30 meters out of 4g range) .
But.. everyone is telling me to go with gingivitis because it is a polished GB. If i can mount my drive properly on GB that would be cool... i also noticed GB stock was simply not as smooth... though people claim OCing the processor to 1.4 helps that. Being a PC overclocker i worry about the extra voltage and heat that might result, but to be honest ive done no Thunderbolt overclock research yet.
So...the question is you need the drivers? I'm still on froyo and cm7 so I'm not much of a help here.

It doesn't require different drivers, when you plug it in and can choose "charge only/disk drive/internet pass through" select pass through, wait about 5-10 seconds, then choose disk drive mode.
I was also wondering if people had Perfect storm 1.5 and gingivitis 1.0 mirrored somewhere.

No, we are not allowed to mirror a developer's roms without their permission. I'm sure chingy knows and he'll fix it ASAP
I'm seeing more and more people comment about it but I'm not really sure who the program is really designed for, primarily.
I'm pretty set with my combo in my sig right now. Just trying to see if it's worth a purchase.

Main advantage is autorooting of nonrooted images, and on-device flashing of sparse ext4 images.
Beyond that, it doesn't offer much beyond dd

You can flash kernels/roms right from your phone, and it wont give you the yellow triangle and your meter wont change. Its pretty slick, I suggest reading up on it and trying it out.
Thanks guys, I'm gonna go dig through the official thread and see what else I can find out about it. Appreciate it.
the counter thing is nice but in my mind.. the best part about it is that it can do virtually everything you can do with real odin. it is convenient for one, and two it used to be a pain to flash a kernel (if you look at the code to do it in CWM you'll see, it has tons of stuff to do, now i guess you could say that it doesnt matter becuase the end user just presses one button, but the other thing it offers is compatibility with most roms. CWM can sometimes screw up and not work 100% with all roms.
I used it to go from CM7 to the newest leaked rom with ease. I ONLY wanted to load the newest leak so I could pull out the modem.bin file after from it and package it up as a CM7 compatible modem. I did use the lite version to do this and had to root it to do that. But it worked so well and easy. So for 1. I wanted to help the dev out since I feel the paid version which does even more (like ever root so I don't have to connect back up to a PC to root a otherwise unrooted rom). 2. I think it is one of the best quality apps and in importance for now and in the future I see it for me being ranked right up there with Tibu. 3. It is only $2.69 so that is a very small price to pay specially since I do most of my flashing away from a PC.

Does Mobile Odin work with ROMs in zip format as you would use with CWM or only in tar? Kind of agree that for less than $3 it's nice to support the dev if this is going to be that convenient to use and so basic to our needs.

Mobile Odin won't let you select the zip files, so one would assume it's not coded to read them. You can however, extract the components from the zip file and load them separately into mobile odin. And anyway, if it's a zip, why not just use CWM?

I don't think I can give a better synopsis that that. I loaded Ethereal and it was ridiculously fast, but I had crash issues(probably because I butchered/reflashed my bootloader/kernel/rom within days of getting it). IcyFusion is my daily driver rom and because of it my Samsung Galaxy Player has become my $0 a month smart phone. The only thing I needed to do to IcyFusion was download setCPU(sleep function lowers cpu so much that almost all media players stutter when the screen is off).
Either rom will make you completely dismiss stock as a complete waste of time. If you have any hiccups consider it an opportunity to learn a bit about your device and what it can do.

The only problem I ever had with Ethereal was that it lagged way to much using Go Launcher EX. I had to change to Holo Launcher because of that. IcyFusion is great an all however, it was very hard for me to set up a Groove IP and Google Voice account, because it kept asking for a number lol. Performance I'd go with Ethereal, Battery Life I'd also go with Ethereal. But if you want more of the true ICS feel. Go with IcyFusion even though it is no slouch in performance either. Klin said he got 2300 @1ghz, but I only got 1700 with EXT =(. So I don't know. I may change back to it at some point.

for SOME reason... after I flashed the TerraSilent kernel to install these ROMS... my apps cant open.. like I see them.. but when I click them it says "Application not installed on phone" and it also shows an SD card on the apps. What also happened was that after I flashed the kernel, whenever I try to flash a ROM with ODIN, it says "USB not recognized" which didnt happen before I flashed TerraSilent. And I also want a stable ROM where the camera works...
to sum things up, I cant flash any ROMS that you need ODIN with AND I want a stable ROM to download.

I'm going to take a wild stab at this and say that you didn't flash TerraSilent as "PDA" in Odin. Unless something with your device goes horrifically wrong you shouldn't have to use "BOOTLOADER" or "PIT". To my knowledge we never use "PHONE" or "CSC" in Odin because of the nature of our devices(not being phones and all that). If you want to wait for a more knowledgeable person to respond they should have some more insight for you.
The camera works in IcyFusion and Ethereal. As far as I know everything works in both of those roms and this is from using IcyFusion for hours a day every single day.
Again, it sounds like you might want to retrace your steps, figure out what you did that deviated from Soultaker's instructions(or you can go to the Development section, find the TerraSilent/IcyFusion/Ethereal threads and see the unabridged instructions) then perhaps reflash the correct files in the correct sections. Flashing the TerraSilent kernel and these two roms will not break anything unless you've got a loose USB cord or a sketchy USB port and even then it takes a few seconds to find a new cable/port and flash them again.

lol... but in reality I DID click PDA when flashing the kernel.. but thanks I will go back and retrace my steps and try to figure out what happened.
I agree on this as well, I was happy with only two different roms and only one kernal stayed the whole time- which was terrasilent.
The two roms were of course the ethereal rom and icyfusion rom. While ethereal is fast and great with battery life, it's extremely unstable when it comes to apps. Alot of apps just did not work like bandroid or Dead Space, and some apps only partially worked like my juice defender and weather apps would not pick up my gps for "location learning". Switched to Icy Fusion and all the apps I throw at it work. Juice Defender and my weather apps picked up my GPS immediately to an annoyance. While each person has their opinions of launchers, I found to really like the Holo Launcher in Icy Fusion alot more function, appealing, and eat less ram than the Go Launcher in Ethereal. While you of course can use any type of launcher you like, the "baked in" ones I found to be very different from each other and was a deciding factor.
It also doesn't help that Klin and hanthsolo have very different opinions in regards to sound quality. While some praise Beats Audio, it's really only a software mixer. Voodoo on the other hand has made a name for itself as it's a fantastic Hardware mixer that takes advantage of the Wolfson DAC inside the Galaxy Player 4.0. I'm much part of the field that would highly prefer a driver that improves the hardware inside the device instead of a software component that supposedly improves audio. Some can't avoid using the beats software mixer as it's the only way they can improve their audio like the Galaxy Player 5.0 users (who have the Yamaha DAC).
My point of my last paragraph is that In my opinion, the sole deciding factor if you like good audio quality is to go for a rom that caters to the Hardware mixer like Voodoo - Icy Fusion is the Rom that does this. If you so wish to do a combo with the beats software mixer, you have the OPTION to do so. Hanthesolo had an opinion that beats is the only way to go and forced it in his rom, not taking advantage of the Wolfson DAC in our Galaxy Player 4.0 at all. Installing the voodoo driver after caused weird bugs to come out of using the ethereal rom, like sometimes it just wouldn't enable unless you launched the driver app.
Hopefully with hanthesolo doing the 4.04 rom right now, he at least reads threads like these and just includes Voodoo Control inside that rom automatically by default since it takes advantage of the SGP 4.0 and he give us the OPTION to install beats if the user so wishes.
P.S. Beats Audio btw has a tendency to break video files and other things, so I highly do not recommend the ethereal rom because of this. Love hanthesolo's work, especially since he has a hand in the 4.04 rom for us, just can't recommend the ethereal rom from my experience. First post btw, long time lingerer (rooted Asus Transformer Prime with S Rom), just finally registered and posted here after using both roms (bricking once).

I think he took out the Beats audio mod in the last ver of his rom. I use Voodoo Control and have absolutely no problem with it. The market even updated it to the lastest and it works even better. I use DSP manager as well and still have no problem. Well it does have a weird bug in which when you choose your preset, it is supposed to show it on the graph but doesn't. But I believe you are right about it being unstable with some apps though. Mine sometimes freezes or just out right crashes and it sucks. But I think that has to do more with ram (that's why I switched to Holo Launcher too lol). I'm going to end up flashing back to IcyFusion probably today to see if I can get an improvement in the quadrant score. I think it may be sometime I'm doing wrong.

? It's free though? Voodoo Control Plus is what cost moneys...
I would provide a link (forum won't let me post links yet, new user and all) but just check out the google play store and search voodoo, just grab the free version and if you like you can buy the Plus version to support the dev.
Yes, I do read these kinds if threads, it's nice to read some unopinoinated reviews of my ROM .
I did take out the voodoo APP in my ROM, as I was having issues getting it to work, but it can easily be optained from the market. I also may have taken out/fixed beats in the last version, so that it plays nicely with most things. Voodoo is integrated into the kernel itself, and beats mods the audio files in the ROM, so they shouldn't conflict with each other.
I personally find my ROM to be a bit less stable than stock, but most of the time it ran well, and pretty darn fast, IMO. For people who are having GPS issues, I have set GPS.conf (?) to search for satellites in the US/north america region, so you will have to mod /etc/GPS.conf to fix that. Of course, it's been a while since I have even looked at that ROM, so my recollection is a bit sketchy .

I agree, ethereal was fast/had better battery strengths (like 100mhz music) and switching back to icy fusion proved that while it (icy fusion) works better with apps (this is what i kinda meant about stability), your ethereal rom didn't eat ram like crazy like icy fusion. Right now, I'm trying to find ways to get more swap from terrasilent's kernal (or at least enable it since it's supposedly disabled) but I'm very new when it comes to scripts. zCache was easy to enable but freezes my device. I did mention though that the two best roms to get are yours and klins most recent work. Looking forward to the 4.04 rom though, I really want to jump to it but need at least your milestones you mentioned crossed first (stability aside). Voodoo please btw if you can get it working right!
P.S. hanthesolo, do you happen to have the script file to enable swap (or if you have time can you walk me through enabling the swap or upping the swap)? I keep trying with scriptmanager and the file is kicking out a very small footprint (bytes instead of kb), I don't think it's enabling. I had to resort to buying the Ram Expander app in the play store to use my 64gb [class 6] card as ram but it's having jittery results for me sometimes. I'd rather use the kernal assets than rely on a app.
I was using a ram bootser app (green paint brush looking app) but eventually the ram would just top off no matter what! Why is this like this btw - why does the ram fill up so badly on these roms? Maybe I'm just not use to low ram androids, tablet has 1gb so i never even worry about it ! I really hope the ics rom you are making with your team is friendly with the ram or has a high swap rate... You can pm me if this seems a bit too offtopic with my request in the above paragraph.

I was actually just looking at his thread and he said that beats mod is still installed lol. Then I read that it broke Flac so now I'm switching back to IcyFusion since I have some flac files, and don't feel like converting them lol. Actually I think Ethereal came with Voodoo Control (Voodoo Sound now), and all I did was extract the apk file and then installed it to the player. It also isn't a paid app only the plus ver is. You have to side load the apk file though since it doesn't show up in the market.

Yeah, RAM really is the achilles heel of this device, as we have the bare minimum to keep things running well (341 MB is user-availible), out of which only ~150 is actually usable for apps, as GB takes up the rest, which made that a MAJOR focus in my ROM. Hopefully now that we have ICS and with it it's awesome RAM management, we will not have as hard of a time keeping things balanced.
Believe me, I had tried every way possible to run modern/intensive games on it, but our ram physically limits us from actually running these games. I tried mass effect infiltrator a while ago, and I had to create a 100MB swapfile for it to run, and it ended taking up 100% of hard ram, and over 60% of the swapfile! Ran a lot better than I hoped though.
To run Zram, all you need to do is create a script (don't forget #!/system/bin/sh at the beginning), and enter these commands into the script:
Code:
mkswap /dev/block/zram0
swapon /dev/block/zram0
To create a swapfile I forget the exact command, but you can easily look it up or use a swap app from the market .

I guess after the 4.0.4 ROM gets a bit more stable.. it will be the best one to flash.

The camera will probably be the last thing we fix, but we are quickly approaching a usable release. Believe me, we're working collectively about 100-150 hours a week so that you guys can have ICS on your neglected players. Just give us some time, and believe me, we will get there.

No ETA's, but probably sometime next week, as I am planning on having HW acceleration fixed by the next release.
Hello,
This is my firs thread/post in the forum, I have been following this site since I got my Motorola Atrix, and I thanks in advance to all devs who makes possible for us to toy with our phones.
I created this post just to show and tell you guys how Ice Cream Sandwich/Android 4.0 behaves on this phone. I think the Motorola Atrix is a well known phone that has been a little underrated by Motorola.
First, the pics: (since it's my first post, the forum rules won't let me post them directly here)
About phone

The experience:
Before ICS/Android 4.0 I used CyanogenMod 7/Android 2.3, just for reference. ICS on an Atrix right now, it's almost usable. The problem is the memory, because it takes a long time to open an app the first time, but once it's on memory, it runs perfectly. I'm talking about apps like YouTube, Gmail, Google Plus, Weather EX, etc; I don't think it would be possible to watch a movie in MKV format with say, MX Player, and in case it would be possible, it could take several minutes to load. I think it's not only lack of memory of the Atrix, but the memory management and swapping it's probably not optimized at all.
In resume, I'll leave ICS in my phone one or two days more just to toy with it, it seems to be very stable, although everything will take a lot of time the first time it runs, I didn't experienced any hangups, freezes, or loss of data.
I think it's very slow because
1- the limitation of hardware of the phone, specially the memory, the CPU and Tegra GPU seems to be good enough to run everything fast enough)
2- the build (you need to install a new Linux btw, which has a newer kernel) is not optimized for the phone.
If these points would be fixed, I think the Atrix could easily run ICS.
Hope this helps other Motorola Atrix owners who wants to try the actual Ice Cream Sandwich/Android 4.0 right now.
Edit: I forgot to add that the battery usage is really badly optimized, or, because the phone is working at 120% when you use it, it naturally discharges faster.

1- It's a dev leak ICS. Not official, not final, so all debugs are active
2- You might have to apply the Mem fix if you don't have all
The memory is slow ? Well it has LPDDR2 RAM, I don't think this matters. The issues you encountered are due to the lack of optimization of the kernel (Not enough time ? Maybe they didn't even try to optimize it...). This is a dev kernel, not a nightly, beta or stable release. It's not even finished.
This leak was the best thing that have happened on Atrix.
Now, all the drivers can be exported and finally we can have CM9 and even CM10 working good as in the Galaxy S.
Thansk to the one who leaked, to epinter and now, just have hope.

So yeah, so far so good the ROM worked fine, but the lack of installing side apps kind of made me upset.

Mine is installing everything without no problem.
I mdofied what was installed from the leak, so as not to wipe out my clockwork touch recovery.
Just made my own version of the script.
I live in the US but my Atrix was purchased from Newegg and came international (Italian). Immediately after flashing the leak img files along with my clockwork recovery.img, the script of course reboots the phone. I then go straight into the recovery and flash both the SuperUser and Ramfix zip files, then I let the phone boot up all the way. These files are also posted in the DEV forum.
This dramatically increase the first boot time, and because of the memory issue, is very fast and responsive during initial google setup.
I have yet to try WebTop 3.0, as all i have at work is my lapdock, my HDMI cradle and cables are at home. Attempting lapdock use fails as the screen resolution is not coded correctly, it shows up on the phone, but only about half of the image shows on the lapdock.
The only other Issues I have experienced is the USB audio in my motorola atrix cardock does not work, need to plug aux into the headphone jack.
There was also a post over in DEV saying the phone hard locked on an incoming call, requiring pulling the battery. This is true. I tested this twice. Then on a whim I changed the default ringtone from draco to pegasus. Now it works no prolem. I have also tried 2 other ringtones that escape me at the moment, so I beleive all you have to do is change the default ringtone.
My phone does not get hot. It did reboot once while copying files from internal to external sdcard. Other than that is has been rock solid.
Just some info for anyone trying it.
Flash method:
Download and unzip the leak - Link over in the DEV forums
I use linux and fastboot. But windows and moto-fastboot will probably give same results.
I edited my install script as you see here:
Code:
cat flash-ics.sh
#!/bin/bash
echo "Erasing recovery..."
fastboot erase recovery
sleep 2
echo "Erasing system..."
fastboot erase system
sleep 2
echo "Erasing userdata..."
fastboot erase userdata
sleep 2
echo "Erasing webtop..."
fastboot erase webtop
sleep 2
echo "Erasing preinstall..."
fastboot erase preinstall
sleep 2
echo "Flashing recovery..."
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img <> a note here, I copied the supplied motorola recovery to old-recovery and renamed my clockwork one
sleep 2
echo "Flashing boot image..."
fastboot flash boot boot.img
sleep 2
echo "Flashing preinstall..."
fastboot flash preinstall preinstall.img
sleep 2
echo "Flashing radio..."
fastboot flash radio radio.img
sleep 2
echo "Flashing system..."
fastboot flash system system.img
sleep 2
echo "Flashing Webtop 3.0..."
fastboot flash webtop vendor.img
sleep 2
echo "Rebooting phone..."
sleep 2
fastboot reboot
Those are the only things I am running.
Hope this helps someone.
Regards.

Overall how would you say the new mods are working? Since the unofficial ics it seems we have seen 3 or 4 new mods and each have a few nonfunctioning items. Do the updates include pieces of the leak? I'd like to know before i dive into modifying my atrix for the first time. Thanks in advance for your patience. I ask because i dont know whether to expect a brand new awesome perfect mod or a very good update to an existing one, maybe a CM.

So.... Loaded ArtICS 1.0 5 days ago, initially had some issues. Ramfix, removing the sd card and easy battery saver made a huge difference.
It is extremely stable for my, more than cm7.
Still outstanding :
-Stock camera, flash timing off, installed pro capture and works amazing.
-High battery consumption still high, getting 9hrs with medium usage.
-Reboots when sleep with sd card
-Uninstalling winamp huge improvement, stability wise, no idea why.
-Delayed screen illumination after sleep, this is only random, can see outline of objects on lock screen but if I wait 5 seconds the screen lights up.
-Stock music app fc constantly, kinda irrelevant, poweramp works flawlessly.
The only apps that wouldn't work is Motor Trend but who cares.
I was planning on making some tweaks to build.prop but i allow access via superuser to build prop editor and I get a message that it has no root access, need a little help! Nevermind, solved it.
Also, anyone figure out the sd/reboot issue? I read something about file allocation size being incorrect, anyone have any news or know how to modify this?
Cheers
Guys.... Really try a batt saver app..... I get through the day without charging, seems to make the rom more stable too.

awesome thanks a lot i appreciate the responses. I definitely need my battery to last at least 10-12 hours.. i bought a extended 3500 mhz on ebay for cheap so hoping that will do the trick.. no luck on those ICS roms unfortunately.. loved the look and the way they run just not cutting it with 6-8 hours on extended

You'll find the latest .9 radio in this thread (found in the Thunderbolt Android Development topic):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048128&page=20
And radios are flashed via the bootloader (when you reboot in recovery you will see an option called "Bootloader". Select that one. It will take you into a pretty crude-looking program that requires the use of the volume up and down toggle to go up and down in the menu and the Power button as the "enter" key. Download the desired radio(s) and save them to the root directory of your phone's SD card. Rename the file pg05img.zip. Note, it has to be exactly that file name, as the Bootloader looks for that file to flash. Choose Bootloader, then hit the Power button. The screen will ask you whether you want to update your radio? Hit the Power button to choose "yes". The screen will tell you to not do anything while its updating your radio. It will take a few minutes, and then when its complete it will prompt you to reboot the phone (by hitting the Power button).
Once the phone has rebooted and you have given it a few minutes to settle in, it is important to either delete the new pg05img.zip file, or at least rename it or move it off the SD root directory (else when you go back into the bootloader you will create a bootloop or other problems.
btw, hopefully you have already changed over to a free app called 4EXT (found on the Play Store) which you should be using for making backups (Nandroids) as well as flashing ROMs and kernels (not radios, as described above). Very user-friendly way of managing your phone flashing (touch screen, very good UI).
If for what ever reason you have any problems flashing the radio, you can always use a micro SD card reader to move, delete, rename, and/or copy new radios onto the SD card root directory. Any place that sells computers will have one for less than $10. Just in case...
Hope this helps and good luck.
Sorry to butt in but I have a question. When I put a new pmg file on the root and boot into revolutionary. It automatically finds the pmg and tells me to press vol up to start the install, or down to not do it. First time I ever tried this I was installing radios for santods nusense. His provided instructions were lacking so I found a sticky here on xda that said how to do it along with a bunch of other things. Those instructions are more like yours, I was very surprised and nervous when the process didn't work as it said and it autodetected that file. So question is...what am I missing?
Edit: sorry let me be more specific. I hold the volume down button when i turn the phone on, up pops he revo screen, up pops a prompt to press vol up to install the new radio. I never have to "choose bootloader", it asks about the radios as soon as revolutionary is on the screen.

I believe everything you have described is normal. There are two ways to boot into the Recovery bootloader... one is by choosing it from the Reboot menu in the ROM, the other is by holding down the Volume Down button then hitting Power (this way allows you to go right into the Bootloader when you are not able to get into your ROM). Then when you choose Bootloader from the list (it may be selection already highlighted) and pressing Power to select (as directed on the screen) it should automatically see your new radio on the SD card root directory. It will prompt you to confirm you want to update the radio (I think by hitting Volume Up to begin the install).
Hope this helps.

No prob, my pleasure. Folks on this and other bulletin boards have always been very helpful to me, so I am hopeful that I can pay forward the favors. Glad everything is working well with the new radio and enjoy Thundershed.
I'm really leaning to T-shed but what are the biggest differences between Aosp and Sense?
