I've been testing the nightlies for a while and this is one of the best aosp roms I've ever used. I hope to see the wimax implemented any time soon.
Thanks for keeping eye on the Evo3D drew.

excellent ROMs... but even better people, especially Drew! He's helped me with his ROMs and other ROMs when I got stuck, no questions asked. A really nice guy and a talented dev! Can't wait to try this out!

It's seriously a relief to see so much work being put into AOSP on our phones, whether it be from you, Agraben, Mazda, or any one of the other cool devs on the scene. So excited to see what comes of this!
On topic - since it's not explicitly noted (its listed under "Not working or buggy")- has anyone figured out if the camera/video is simply buggy or completely not working in this particular ROM?
Help!
OK, I know this ROM is AOSP based from the OP, but it doesn't seem to have anything to do with CyanogenMod JB (CM10). Please confirm or correct the following definitions:
1. AOSP: Original Android source from Google.
2. CyanogenMod (aka CM10): One branch of enhanced AOSP
3. AOKP: Another branch of enhanced AOSP
4. Evervolv: Yet another branch of enhanced AOSP (?)
5. Codename(Android): One last branch of enhanced AOSP
6. MIUI: Custom UI and utilities added to CM10
7. ParanoidAndroid: Tablet UI and other interface features added to CM10
8. ParanoidKangdroid (aka PacMan): ParanoidAndroid added to a mix of AOKP and CM10
9. Others?
Here's an XDA post comparing AOKP and CM10, but i can't seem to find any guides or other references that compare all the different AOSP versions.
I understand AOSP branches sometimes use mods and utilities from the other versions, especially CM10, which makes all this very confusing. Somewhere I saw that ports of AOKP may actually be based on CM10 if there is no native AOKP ROM for that device.
HTC Sense 3.0, 3.6, 4.0 and 4.1 is starting to look simple compared to the AOSP world.
Does anyone have any good references for understanding what the differences between these AOSP branches and enhancements are? Maybe a thread defining all the AOSP versions in the General Forum makes sense?

You have the general idea correct. You're over thinking things though. There are far too many different versions to compare them all to each other, and what you're mentioning are just the major players in AOSP development.
The only way to explain anything better than you you already have is to try all of the ones you have access to.

Many people would like to use AOSP ICS instead of TW ICS.
I think it would be nice to have a port, and Nexus S is made by Samsung, so I hope it's not that difficult.
Is any developer interested?
You must be new around here. I suggest you look around, as usual, there are some devs who are releasing custom Samsung ROM's, and there are others, like teamhacksung who are working on AOSP ROM's.

CM is not AOSP. It's based on AOSP and then loads of stuff added to it. Personally, I prefer to start with AOSP and build up from there, rather than taking some other development group's idea of what I should have on my phone.
Not knocking the great work the CM team do, obviously. It's just not for me. I agree with the OP - AOSP FTW!

Yes, you are right. Options are always good and there are always different opinions and needs.
But do more people who used stock ROMs before want to have stock ICS? I think it has so much more features: handling contacts, widget resizing...

Developers, please help! , this could help take multitasking on android tablets to a whole new level!
Would like to see this myself!
Thats really really cool, hope the developers here will do a build with ICS with that fantastic experiment!
CyanogenMod team is working in building it into CM9.
Think it's only compatible with ics and gingerbread when ics is more common on devices I think more cooks will add it. I can't believe their is not more interest from dev on this. Cm9 and Thor, are building this into their rom.
Not an APP. This has to be built into the ROM itself. I have been searching for the "user built ROMS" on Onskreen's website but with no luck. CMteam is adding it to CM9 but a flashable zip to drop the right files into the right places would be increadible. This would give most people the option to use what ROM they want and then flash the "Cornerstone into said ROM. I am excited about this.
Including this into the ROMs might make Google decide to pull ROMs out of access to the Android Market I've read.
Not sure if and how this would all pan out.
edit: if CM would include this as an optional package that would remove the risk of excluding ROMs to the market, nice find mtjnkee
work in progress? or already an app ready?
I thunk it'll still a work in progress.

Yes but when I made the original post he hadn't included it yet.
Any roms for the a500 with this built in yet. Available now?
I think that once more devices start to implement ICS then we will see a much faster development time for these sort of OS enhancements

So IMHO they're more on building an own solution to this, taking Cornerstone as an origin.
If anyone has a Touchpad laying around there is an CM9 Kang ROM with Cornerstone baked in over in the Touchpad development section.

This might be a silly question, but what exactly are the differences between the three Jellybean ROMs I see in the dev section (Paranoid, CM10, AOKP)?
None of these seem to have any kind of "feature log" or changelog.
Anyone have any insights?

I'm not trying to be a ****, but you kind of didn't answer my question in any way.
a) What's wrong with AOKP?
b) I know Paranoid is JB, that's why I mentioned it. Are you saying it's stock JB? Kinda confused on the wording here.
c) Obviously, you're a fan of CM10 (aka CMX). What makes it so good compared to the other two? I see the thread for it has more posts (and thus seems to be more popular), but why?
Again, I'm not trying to be difficult. Just hoping to get an answer without having to flash 3 different ROMs.
Each ROM has different features.
CM isnt just straight AOSP

As much as I am grateful that people are paying attention to this thread and attempting to answer, this is the 2nd non-answer I've received so far.
I know each ROM has different features, that's why I made this thread.
I know CM isn't just straight AOSP.
My issue is that unlike most of the Sense ROMs, these JB ROMs have no feature list at all, and don't even cite any sort of changelog. Thus, I can't make an informed decision on which ROM to flash.

That's like.. not even fully correct.
Please make sure you know what you're talking about before you answer questions, as not knowing the answer will only cause more confusion.
To OP,
Paranoid: Paranoid Android is an AOSP JB ROM that focuses on the fusion of phone mode and tablet mode. Typically putting a phone into tablet mode would be cool, but some features of tablet mode just don't work that well on a phone. So they've worked on making the tablet mode experience work better on a phone. You can read more about it here.
AOKP: AOKP (Android Open Kang Project) is a highly customized AOSP build that is somewhat similar to CM in that it has a lot of tweaks available to it. AOKP actually has a bit more customization than CM, allowing you to center the clock, add the day of the week to the clock, weather in your notification menu, and a few other neat tricks. You can read more about it here.
CM10: CyanogenMod is the most popular custom Android ROM around, with a very large user base. It supports many different devices. We just recently received official support, meaning we will get official releases and nightlies on a daily basis. This is a plus for CM, because we don't have official support for AOKP and Paranoid, which means we might not always get the newest updates. While it has less ability for customization than AOKP, CM is still a very solid AOSP ROM. You can read more about it here.
All three are great ROMs, and at this point they have mostly the same bugs. I would personally suggest CM10 because the development for it is a bit more active and I've noticed better battery life and less buggyness while running that over AOKP.

SoraX did a great job of explaining the main goals/differences between the ROMS>
The reason there isnt a changelog is because at this point the developers are more focused on getting things working 100%. Its the nature of the beast.

Anyone know for sure what does and doesn't work on the stable cm-7.2.0-fascinatemtd.zip build?
Just trying to get something non-stock that can run Ingress well enough.
Any other suggestions for ROMS? Keeping as much memory free as possible is key as well as working GPS obviously.

the paranoid android builds have included twrp and is a really nice rom.
you can flash their kernel to any of these roms to obtain that on any other ROM
All the roms here for the fassy are really all good ones, and very personal preference.
hard to go wrong with any of them...
Proven Decision methods::::
flip a coin,,, draw straws,,, eenie meenie minie moe,,,magic 8-ball,,,Close eyes and point,,,
best thing to do is read, read, read, then read what each are all about, and of you have the time test them ALL out yourself, thats the only way to know for sure what fits your style best,,, go ahead and get titanium backup (pro $$,, worth it for rom jumping) learn how to use it and have some jellybean fun...
here is my very short overview of all the main ROMs, in no particular order:::
slim bean and pac-man are new to the scene and are slightly less proven at this point, but the maintainer seems to be on top of things.
slim - very un-bloated, yet high on features/options
pac-man - combination of best from AOSPA + AOKP + CM10.1, self explanatory
CyanogenMod 10.1 - straight from the awesome ability of JT1134, for the fascinate, we all wouldn't be as far along without him and the people/teams he has helped
[ROM] [AOSPA] PARANOIDANDROID -- per app dip settings, pie controls, very well built decent features/options
Baked Blackbean - very well built with lots of features/options
HellyBean - most Kernel/Overclocking options built in, very well built with lots of features/options
aokp 4.2.2 (unofficial) - very well built with lots of features/options
[CM10.1][JELLYBRO] - - very well built with lots of options
[JB] [4.2.2] Avatar ROM - lots of themes, well built
GeeWiz 4.3 - very well built -- proprietary Samsung RFS file system-- not compatible with other Roms/Kernels,, very fast well functioning
.

just to add onto the euroskank cm10.1 builds; they're cm10.1 through and through, but with cherry picks. so in the official nightlies, the rom won't have these added till later. they have to be merged/added.

I've been a fan of this site for a while, and I just created an account tonight.
I noticed that the ICS kernel source was released by HTC today. I am looking forward to having a nice ICS AOSP rom with working video. Thank you DEVS!
With the ICS kernel source, are we limited to ICS versions of android? Can the kernel source be modified to work with Jelly Bean? Maybe CM10.1?

From what I understand it's being worked on, maybe not actively right now but it seems to be a strong possibility.
HTC released their kernel version 3.0.16. That will out-of-the-box support Ice Cream Sandwich. Jelly Bean needs 3.0.31 (or higher). I think what the kernel developers now need to do is back port the necessary bits and pieces to HTC's version to make it compatible.

Already have one patched up to around 3.0.80, just gotta finish adding in the new board files, LTE drivers and defconfig.
As we all know though, older kernels can also be made to run versions they aren't intended for as well.
Also already have CM10.1 running pretty darn well...

Cyanogenmod 10.1 official support?
I'm curious. Once the devs are able to get the kernel ready for cyanogenmod 10.1, has anyone thought about submitting that kernel to cyanogenmod for official Thunderbolt cyanogenmod builds?
From the posting linked below, cyanogenmod requires a tested kernel and a developer or group of developers that will maintain the kernel for official support. Is cyanogenmod official support a possibility with the kernel the DEVs are working on?

Thanks for the info!

I can't speak for everyone, but let's get "that" kernel worked out first.
It's now possible, but still not exactly a simple task.
Having already knocked out a custom Sense ICS kernel from the source was done without much hassle already.
And Jelly Bean has come pretty far for the Bolt already, but making a fully functional Jelly Bean kernel from HTC's ICS source may take a bit more dilligence.
So I would just say let's take it one step at a time.
Official builds would require dedication on a dev or multiple devs parts to continue updating and supporting it.
There aren't a lot of candidates left, that may still have enough personal interest in doing so when that time comes.
Basically, that's just not something that can be predicted at this point, as there are still uncertainties surrounding such a thing, from several different aspects/angles.
It would of course be great to see the old Bolt be added to the list of devices which are officially supported.
Who knows what else the future may hold for this faithful beast that keeps getting surprises, even if long overdue.
