Last week i bought an M-TECH aTab7... it's a chinese tablet, imported from china to hungary.
I got some info from that, it's in the zip file, on pictures.
WHAT I KNOW FROM IT:
CPU: Cortex A8(?) 1.2ghz
RAM: 512MB DDR3
Storage: 1gb for the android, and 5.3gb "external" +2gb microsd
800x480 (Can play hd?!)
I need a custom rom and a recovery for this Tablet. I'm looking forward to a reply!

You are going to have to get started and googling, unless something else has the tablet, they won't be able to do much but google anyways.

Hi there,
As I am developing my first apps for Android, I've run into an issue that bothers me. When trying to logcat (via terminal or Eclipse), this is the output I get:

I've googled, but found solution only for Huawei devices (getting into service menu and activating logging) but it doesn't work with my P500. Everything (deploying , debugging) works just fine. BTW I am using NightlyFourE V4.1 ROM (that's Cyanogenmod 2.3.7) and linux workstation. Any help appreciated!

Look for a tweak the same as that on the /system/etc/init.d folder
rm -r dev/log/main
or something similar to that and delete it..

i was looking around to see which gapps are compatible with the NT but couldn't find an answer. i was thinking about inverting some of the CM7 gapps but wanted to see if someone had done it on a different device first.
anybody know which mdpi gapps should work with ours?
thanks!

There's a Stock build with gapps built-in that works well enough.
I'm looking to see if someone has inverted them already for another device that is compatible with the nt, so that i wouldn't have to do so.

My preferred method is to just do everything within the cm build directory. The only thing that needs modification is init.rc, so copy the sense init.rc to system/core/rootdir of the cm directory. Then build and get the boot.img from the zip. It takes awhile, but it's the most reliable method for Galaxy S devices (on others, you can easily just use kitchens). In other news, if someone could please test and logcat this Sense 2.1 ROM, I would appreciate it http://darkierawr.com/Android/Users/xboxfanj/FascinateSensemediafix.zip

You could also save yourself some time by running "make bootimage"!
I've tried a lot of the available ROMs (including the new JB ones), but this combination is just awesome:
Firmware MediaPad ICS 4.0.3 HWMOD C232B005
[KERNEL][AOSP][ICS 4.0.3][09/12/12] Mediapad EX (Don't flash modules)
New Qualcomm JellyBean Driver / Libraries
lagfree Governor
Overclock to 1,67 GHz
I'm pretty sure that the new Qualcomm Drivers tip the scales. Overall this combination gives you a fully working and outstanding smooth mediapad.
Have fun and press the thanks button if this helped you.

Amazing testing, I am now on after_silence's CM10. Would the JB drivers with the same adb commands work with his CM10? Only thing not really working is the wifi MAC thing on that rom.
I'm pretty sure that the cm10 Rom already contains the new drivers. I believe I've read that flashing these files won't work with cm based Roms (maybe look at thread where the driver download is located).
Gesendet von meinem LT18i mit Tapatalk 2
Normally I have no problem with ADB, but for some reason I am unable to push the system files for the JB Adreno Drivers. I've attached a screenshot of my command window, but basically it's saying the file doesn't exist or I don't have permissions. I tried moving the file to a drive that wasn't hosting my Win8 OS, and ran the command with the new local file location but I got the same error.
I also tried to use Root Explorer and ES File Explorer to simply copy the files, but Root Explorer causes a hot reboot, and ES FIle Explorer freezes the tablet completely.
I've rooted a ton of devices in my day including that P.O.S. Notion Ink Adam, but this Huawei tablet is turning out to be a whole different beast in and of itself.
Any ideas on what to do now?
EDIT/UPDATE: took out the " / " after local system folder in adb command and all is golden.
I highly advice against flashing the Jellybean Adreno libraries on a ICS flavored ROM!
I've tried it and now the screen remains black. ADB works fine still though, so I can restore things to the way they were.
Still... stay away from mixing Jellybean flavored stuff into ICS!

h25p did say that very likely CM10 would already have the JB fixes, so perhaps the adb pushed driver is borking the one in CM10? If you are successful again I will try.

When I tried to do that with Root Explorer, it froze my tablet completely. And ES File Explorer (with root activated) caused my tablet to hot reboot every time I tried. ADB is going to be your only route I believe.

Root is done. No custom recovery and roms yet. (NOTE: TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK)
I didn't understand it but is there any possibility of one click root or supersu?
Xposed works on it?
I do not feel Custom ROM is needed at this moment, however I feel if someone can make TWRP quickly. Without having custom recovery you can not flash custom rom.

It really is useless, because there are barely any stable roms, if not none at all, and secondly after using a nexus for so long and ****ing up my battery with a tonne of kernels and roms and what not, just stick to this, if you really want a stock android feel, why not try a theme ?

I really do not need a custom rom for the phone. My rooting purpose was different. It just need a custom kernel like TWRP, rest you can get mod from J7, A7, S6, S6 Edge and use them.

I agree with you, xposed would be great, and also having a nightly of Marshmallow would be too! I really feel sad that we will get the update only in March! That really blows.
If not TWRP, I wouldn't mind settling for CWM either.
And would like to use AK kernel, or even hellscore.

Thanks mate for your hard work.
One request to you.
pls add samsung galaxy A8 ( A800I) . As far as my knowledge goes (may be wrong) , in India the "F" variant is not available right now. I didn`t get the "F" variant in local market and even in Samsung distributors. Instead of "F", here is the "I' (Samsung Exynos 5433) with price arround Rs. 25,990 (approx.) (All 3 colors).
Thank you once again.

hi
I have already posted this as a separate thread but it did not get any response and I need few answers before I proceed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/chef-central/android/advice-porting-indian-rom-to-chinese-t3397736
I purchased a Samsung Galaxy A8 A8000 from China. I did not like its ROM since it lacked Google Apps and other stuff. So i decided to port system apps (apps+priv-app) from an indian rom. I am totall new to ROM stuff and to linux as well but i decided to go with virtual box and learn few things along the way.
For this,
first i extracted indian rom, it contained following
boot.img, cache.img, hidden.img, modem.bin, recovery.img, sboot.bin and system.img
then i extracted chinese rom, it contained different files as below
aboot.mbn, boot.img, cache.img.ext4, hyp.mbn, modem.bin, NON-HLOS.bin, recovery.img, rpm.mbn, sbl1.mbn, sec.dat, system.img.ext4 and tz.mbn
Since i donot want to mess with partitions and modem and other stuff so i decided to port only apps from indian rom and built an odin flashable tar file
For this i navigated various forum, i even dont exactly remember all but i am thankful to all who wrote useful stuff that helped me decide what to do, well most important of these were

first of all i converted indian rom system.img to system.raw using following command in linux virtualbox ubuntu 15.04
simg2img indsystem.img indsystem.raw
then i mounted this raw image using this command
mkdir indsystem
mount -o loop indsystem.raw indsystem/
then i converted chinese rom system.img to system.raw using same command as above
simg2img chcsystem.img chcsystem.raw
then i mounted this chinese raw image using this command
mkdir chcsystem
mount -o loop chcsystem.raw chcsystem/
then i created a system_new.img.ext4 file of 3.1GB size with this command
dd if=/dev/zero of=system_new.img.ext4 bs=4k count=775000
then i formated new image with ext4
mkfs.ext4 system_new.img.ext4
then probably i override the file system check and then mounted new ext4 image
tune2fs -c0 -i0 system_new.img.ext4
mkdir system_new
mount -o loop system_new.img.ext4 system_new
here i had a problem, i could not copy files from both indian and raw mounted images to my new ext4 image since i did not have permission to copy to the destination folder. then i made use of superuser access
sudo chown -R bethany /DATA/SHARE
sudo chmod -R ugo+rw /DATA/SHARE
gksu nautilus /path/to/image/folder
then i had full access and copied chinese rom to my new ext4 image.
cp -v -r -p chcsystem/* system_new/
then i deleted app, priv-app, font, framework, media, etc/permissions/allfiles-starting-with-android.-and-com.-and-allshare_library.xml from ext4 image.
then i manually copied these folders and permission files from indian system raw image file to my new ext4 image file
next i copy /system/lib/libandroid_runtime.so from chinese rom to the system/lib/ directory of indian rom and then deleted lib folder from chinese rom and replaced it with indian rom
then i sync files with "sync" command
then unmounted all partitions.
I then replaced system.img.ext4 file in my original rom with one that i have just made.
Now i need to compile these files back into flashable tar files with md5sum check with
tar -H ustar -c image_1 image_2 > your_odin_package.tar
md5sum -t your_odin_package.tar >> your_odin_package.tar
mv your_odin_package.tar your_odin_package.tar.md5
1. but before i do so I need some advance developer to please help me out and give some confidence as to the approach that i have used. is that correct.
2. Secondly, if someone can tell me tar ball flashing order for my rom since i heard it is important while compiling odin flashable tar file.
aboot.mbn, boot.img, cache.img.ext4, hyp.mbn, modem.bin, NON-HLOS.bin, recovery.img, rpm.mbn, sbl1.mbn, sec.dat, system.img.ext4 and tz.mbn
3. Also Is it possible that i convert system.img.ext4 into flashable odin tar file with above commands and flash only system image with Odin without messing with anyother settings.
Thank you
