well since 4.2 is out then we should have the official 4.2 and we should have as an option to use the beta for the version after 4.2... Just like how i used windows 7 and also duel booted with windows 8 on the same laptop...

Oh my god! I was doing a google search for ICS on Motorola Droid X2 to see if Moto announced anything recently. And all of a sudden, look what I found!

You can spoof the version number in build.prop and you can theme it, probably used the ics theme here...

Over at that ICS Upgrade android life page someone in comments said ICS Confirmed for X2 but would love to know if that was Mr. M as well.

i would wait until at least a beta version. there is no wifi only 1x data. patience grasshopper with the way DH build there may be a beta build very very soon.
Can't wait for this! Watched the Nexus with JB preview videos and I can tell it's gonna be awesome!

I was fortunate to hold onto my Nexus when I got the Maxx. I loaded the JB rom onto it and it really is buttery smooth. I can't wait for it to hit the Razr line.

I believe the source was released last week so they're just in the early process of development. Since it's not a major software jump from ics, it should be easier to test as we already have compatible kernels and radios from ics.

Maybe moto dont care... but my evo was never officially updated past gb... theres just a lot more dev from the xda comunity for it. I believe its still on of the most popular phones out there...

Speed: Supa FAST, Apps: lot of helpful apps incorporated within the OS... Looks: nothing breath-taking but over all very pleasant...
Stability: none at all....
PS: tried it on my wife's Atrix4G and it rocks!!!

Yup...and that too a third version...and runs flawlessly... even the damn alpha is as strong as any of our supposedly "final" builds...awesome features and zapping fast...even on Atrix, a phone it isn't meant to run on...

Dude, have you tried it on the Razr? If not, it doesn't belong here but the Atrix thread. A comparison makes sense only if it is on the Razr AND an Atrix. But I am sure you know that.

Hello everyone
Not new to rooting and romming. Plan on doing a bunch of reading and will make every attempt to refrain from asking repetitive questions. But was hoping i could get a few points in the right direction. I am currently running 3.2.
Is the jump to ICS worth it? My phone device is bionic and ICS basically turned a crappy bionic into a superphone...im hoping for a similar advancement from honeycomb to ICS.
Is there a particular " rom list" short list a few of you fine folks could recommend?
Any pitfalls to watch out for or a good thread I should read. Im going to check out all the stickies before I get going.

Cool, thanks. Is JB buggy? I know it is on the Bionic but that's with a locked bootloader and there is only one (I think) example of 4.1 in that space.

Just spotted this over on androidpolice, the razr and razr maxx are listed as getting jelly bean as an upgrade in the future although no date is specified.

In the motorola update page it says the razr and razr maxx will get jellybean update but no timeframe given. Im assuming late q4 2012 early q1 2013 since the RAZR hd will be getting it before the end of the year
