I received the OEM extended battery cover on the 21st. The cover fits pretty well. All the buttons work. Today I finally received the extended battery from Hong Kong. It took 2 weeks. The first thing I did was the obvious, place the aftermarket extended battery in the phone and put on the OEM extended battery cover on. Sad to report that it doesn't fit. The after market extended battery is too thick. It missed it by about 1.5mm.
The aftermarket battery is twice as thick as the OEM. i'v opened an extended battery before. Inside are 2 normal sized battery stacked. So I'm imagine this one is the same. The fact that the OEM extended battery is rated at 2150mah and is thinner than the aftermarket dual cell extended battery lead me to believe that the OEM extended battery is a supersized single cell battery. No other aftermarket extended battery will fit the OEM extended battery cover.
The aftermarket extended battery cover is about 2mm thicker than the OEM extended battery cover. When I installed the aftermarket battery cover for the first time, the vol down is pushed in. up on initial boot, it placed the phone into bootloader. I had to take the cover out and reseat the vol control rocker button. Afterwards everything worked fine.
I was looking into purchasing an extended battery down the road, and I've heard rumblings that the ROM must have support for extended batteries. Would there be any trouble with detected charge points after a few charging cycles?
I am using the samsung extended battery and a co-worker of mine just purchased the sedio both of us are on MIUI with no issues and very good battery life. I think I can squeeze 3 days of normal usage out of mine. Biggest issue is retraining battery after installing a new rom, it just won't die.

expensive for an extra 100mah. i know mugen has a good reputation, but i took my chances and ordered the cheapo 1600 andida battery from obostore.
I dont think this battery will give me much of a boost in battery life.

good experience is good in terms of duration but the downside of it is that hot and when it reaches 67 degrees Celsius the phone is turned off ... you have to wait to cool and turn it on because at that temperature you off again ..

I usually stay away from AceSoft batteries but I did a little work for a friend and he gave me a battery and door that he ordered from ebay. It is an AceSoft 5600mah extended battery. It was at 99% charge so I topped it off at 100 and put it in. So far I would say I have used it moderately. Some internet, some gaming, several phone calls and texting. It has been in for over 21 hours and still have almost 50% charge left. I have attached 2 usage photos.

I will try to post a picture of the battery and the battery door tomorrow. I can tell you that it looks to be the same size as the hyperion 5000mah battery and the battery door is the same.
Any review about this battery?
I tested some aftermarket batt. for the Alpha (Ebay), all of them were the same size as the oem battery but showed no increase in battery life. They are just good as a backup battery.
