10 days ago I upgraded my SGS3 to JB via Kies. Since day one I was having problems with poweramp player. In every song I could hear one or more short pauses. It was really annoying! I tried different "audio buffer size" settings but it didn't solve my problem, so I thought there was something wrong with poweramp. I switched to playerpro, but it did not help. I tried winamp and even stock player but still I had random hiccups. I was so desperate to fix it and decided to do factory reset. It did not help either!
I thought there was something wrong with my branded rom, so I flashed BTU JB version. Still hiccups. I moved all my music files to internal sdcard, disabled music FX, bluetooth share and bluetooth test processes but still no success. Yesterday I gave up and switched back to ICS. Problem solved!
Do you guys have any clue what could cause this? I know I am not the only one who have/had this problem, but have not seen any solution.
Hope you can understand my poor English.
I had this with dlj1, solved with dlj4

The one I tried was I9300XXDLJ4. As mentioned earlier it did not solve my problem.
Never seen this problem on multiple roms ..
Might pay to wipe phone and install clean .

I did wipe data, cache and dalvik cache before flash 4.11 BTU. What else can I do?
I hate having uncommon problems .
this is cause by the memory leak bug. I used supercharger and everything was gone. frequent lock-ups, music hiccups, etc
Thanks bordikun! Instead of playing with scripts I will try latest Omega rom. I see that V6 SuperCharger is included.
bordikun, may I know what settings do you use for Supercharger? I installed Omega 32.1, my phone is 100% Supercharged but I still experience hiccups. I don't have any other problems with the phone, it is like a rocket now . Apart this little, but very annoying audio problem.

So I just recently started having this annoying bug in Google Music on my phone where after each song, the media volume resets to max for the next song. Anyone know why this may be happening or have any similar experience with a bug similar to this?
I'm having the same issue. I think it might be related to my updating from AOKP ICS to CM10/JellyBean without wiping. But everything else is working just beautifully and all my stuff is still there, so I don't want to wipe and am hoping for a different fix for this issue. But so far deleting data, un-/re-installing the app aso. didn't help. Any hints appreciated.
Same issue here. I have recently installed RR JB 3.0.6 running Siyah kernel. Not enough posts to post in that section yet, so I'll start off here
Ok now I need an expert. I bought this device a week ago or so. First thing did was an update to JB and then root. After that I removed some system apps (just bloatware nothing important), and disabled some apps to run at startup with es taskmanager (did the same things for a year with my s2 every time I flashed a new rom). The next day I started to notice lagging music when the screen was off. With lagging I mean clittering or so...it plays normalny for few seconds then clitters and plays normaly again but this is repeating the whole song. Weird thing is that it only does it when the display is off...when I turn on the display it starts playing normaly every sound no matter how long does it play (like it should be). I'm really upset for this because I paid big money for that phone and I can't listen to music on it. I also tried different players, no success. No matter if I use the phone speaker, external speaker or earphones, when the display goes off it starts bugging so it's not with the app and I don't think it's with the device as it can play properly with screen on. Did a factory reset, wiped cache, dalvik cache, reflash, I also tried different JB samsung based roms (I need the apps from sammy also I like them more than AOKP or moded roms). Then I found out about JB 4.1.2 leak on sammobile, did a wipe and flashed it, everything was good so I thought the problem is gone but after 3 days it came back! So annoying please help me fix this There is a link where some users posted too about this problem so I'm not alone and it's not a faulty device. samsunggalaxys3forum.com/forum/samsung-galaxy-s3-audio/1035-s3-audio-problem.html (copy it to browser, it didn't allow me to post the full link) ...thanks for any advices.
Seems like a lot of people are experiencing this issue, especially since the JB upgrades.
I am currently running the FoxHound 1.7 ROM as well as JKay framework 14.7, although I am not sure if either have anything to do with the problem.
While listening to music, when the screen shuts off (either manually or due to inactivity), the music will start skipping with varying frequency. Sometimes this doesn't happen at all, sometimes it happens so much that it renders listening impossible.
I have played with the equalizer settings and it makes no difference. I have also installed a plethora of music players, and it happens in all of them.
Please help - it is absolutely ruining an otherwise amazing phone experience, as I listen to music a LOT on my phone.

Have you tried wipe cache/dalvik and re-flash?Also have you searched your ROM's and JKAY's forums to check if there are other people with the same problem?Let me know if you find anything..
Haven't tried wiping dalvik and cache. If i wipe both and then restore from a backup, would it help?
Will ask on the jkay thread, although I reallydon't think it is that. Plenty people running stock roms complaining about the same issue.

No need to restore anything..just get into cwm recovery wipe cache and then advanced-->wipe dalvik cache and reboot your phone..If this doesnt solve the issue try to reflash your ROM..
Ever since I got my Amaze, I've been having strange audio playback problems. I'll outline them below.
1) Every few tracks, Pandora will skip a song and advance to the next one with no user input. Even happens on ads.
2) Google Play Music will report "Music playback error" every 4-5 tracks and stop playing. Happens whether streaming or played locally.
3) Every 2-3 music videos, audio in MX Player will cut out for a second or so. When seeking to a particular time in a video, audio will get out of sync or become horribly garbled.
No apparent problems with phone calls, but I don't call many people. I've tried the stock ROM, SpeedROM 7.8/8.0 and the 1/4 build of CM10. The problem remains. Anyone have any ideas? At this point I'm seriously considering bringing my HD2 out of retirement, even though it's held together with duct tape and spit. It doesn't skip, and sounds even better than the Amaze.
ive had issues with the recent MX player "updates".. but overall have you tried fixing permissions and clearing cache to see if it might fix your problem.. or uninstalling the apps or clearning the data.. because it sounds like something somewhere is corrupted.. (maybe...) i'm not too sure as to i've never encountered these problems before.. but it never hurts to try.. (and when you flash rom's do you do a *(full)* wipe before you flash them)? and also do you restore these apps with data using any backup apps like titanium etc? because that might be another cause for the issue.. as to some data from some rom's don't transfer well to new ones.. which is why they give the warning that restoring data might be harmful and cause apps to malfunction

Each time I've installed a new ROM, I've wiped dalvik, cache, data and system. Not sure what else is safe to wipe - I don't think wiping boot is such a great idea. I never restore data to a clean install, mostly because all my data is in the cloud or on my SD card. At this point I'm theorizing that the hardware audio decoder in my phone is squirrelly, though I'm not 100% positive about that.
try flashing this then flashing your rom and see if it helps.. you can fix permissions after you successfully back up your rom, just remember to make sure to do a backup always before flashing a rom

No joy. Ran the super wipe script, then it took me about 4 attempts to load SpeedROM 8.0. Finally got it reloaded, and the skipping is still there. Tried fixing permissions, too. Any other suggestions? I wonder if there's any way to cook a software decoder into the ROM...
EDIT: The skipping is still present in Pandora, but MX Player does seem to be doing better. It could've just been the CM10 ROM. Also getting lots of DSP Manager crashes in SuperROM.
ive never really used dsp.. and i just noticed too that sometimes my pandora randomly skips songs.. or maybe the volume rockers are controls when the screen is off.. not sure
Hi all,
[ROM][AOSP][4.4.2][KOT49H] SuperNexus 4.0 - I9100 - Build 1 [25-12-13]
I'm using this ROM and I have some annoying issue with spotify.
Sometimes it plays normally etc, but sometimes it stops, like the application is not able to play music. Moreover, If I won't restart the phone, the phone will get warm and the battery will drop really really fast (in batery usage i see that spotify is repsonsible).
Once I restart the phone everything works OK, I can listen to spotify agian, device is not getting warm, etc..
I have no idea what is the issue, but i had never had it with different ROM. Is it well know issue, is there any fix for that?
Best regards,
fobofobya
Kitkat 4.4 has this soundbug . Guess all roms are more or less affected. There are tricks to help (something with how you format your sd card) that could help. Search different forums to get more info. Have not tried myself so cant help. Good luck
