I currently have a 3.8 battery in my release day rezound. It has pretty crappy life and I was wondering, is it worth it to buy a 3.7 battery? What are your experiences if you switched?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2
I've got both and I can't tell the difference between the two when using them. The only difference is the 3.7 fully charges in my battery charger, but the 3.8 only charges to like 80% just like in our early ICS days.

Take it to Verizon and have them switch it out.. they should do it no pro lem the 3.8 actually don't work right with ICS..
Something to do with the way the system reads the battery stats.

The 3.8v vs 3.7v thing doesn't matter anymore with ICS. It's been fixed for a looong time. Like I said, the only difference is with my external battery charger.
Edit: But yeah, if the battery performance is degrading see if they'll swap it out.

I use an external charger as well the one I had before was an OEM rezound charger it didn't fully charge my 3.8 either. the one I have now is actually made for digital cameras but it works great and fully charges my batteries in about two to three hours..you can find em at Wal-Mart by the sd cards and digital cameras. It's universal.. I charge about four different batteries everyday.. drill, two different phones, my daughters play phonn (old android with a broken charging port)

yep what ^^ they said. you're still under the umbrella of 1 year warranty so take it to them.
I've had 3.8 since the get-go. I've never over heated or had bad battery life with any of the firmware. I am currently S-Off, have the most current version of ICS, and am using a custom ROM.
I get approx. 13 hours with 2+ hours of display time and moderate use.

Yea, I've tried all those apps, task killers, battery savers. Battery life is my least concern now since I have batteries.
My problem is connections. In high 4G areas I'm usually only getting 3g and I get a lot of no data connections.

Dayum. How do you charge all those?
Just a suggestion, see how your battery life fares if you keep your screen brightness under 25% (if you can).
I use two wall chargers. I average 3-4 batteries a day which works out well for me. I've tried the lowest setting I could possibly go with still seeing the screen, didn't seem to help much believe it or not.
Since I've gotten the backup batteries I just have it on auto brightness now.
Aside from the battery life, I'm more concerned now about the limited 4G I get and no data at all at times.
I would also think even though the battery cover is built well, I think it will wear out from all the removals.

I worry about same thing removing frequently. I found this supposedly oem but from Hong Kong. But if you look at images has contacts like the original back. Ordered and will have it in about another week or so.

I guess it is original equipment though, so may actually be worth it to have one as a backup. Thanks for link

How did it go with Lingosbox.com? How many days did the item arrive and did you encounter any problem with them?
I have these batteries from a Sensation. They seem to FIT the Amaze, but will they hurt the phone in any way if I use them? Can anyone confirm?
Thanks in advance!
CHICHITEC 1900 mAh Batteries for Sensation
From what I read it should not just as some people were using the Evo 3D batteries in the sensation and it was fine.

I was trying to give the standard battery one more day before I bail on it.... I guess it's worth trying, right....? Eek!
I sent an email to the CHICHITEC people actually and was sort of waiting to hear from them.
Oh OK. I put my anker battery in and within an hour the battery % went down 17%...not looking good. How well does the stock battery work for you?

Also someone on different post stated the amaze battery was 3.8v vs. Sensation 3.7v. I wonder if it makes any kind of a difference. (Anker 3.7v as well)

My stock battery has been astonishingly good today - 25% in 6 hrs 15 min. Granted I'm on Wi-Fi and it's only been moderate use, but that's pretty darn good. All my sync and notifications are running in the background and GPS is on.
Guess I'll get brave with the CHICHITEC next week? Or see how I do with a heavier use day tomorrow?
I use my 2 anker batteries that I had for my sensation on the amaze and works like a charm...
the only thing that concerns me is that the amaze battery is 3.8v and the sensations anker battery is 3.7v Wonder if that matters or not... so far so good tho...
So I have two standard batteries for my Rezound and one is 3.8 and one is 3.7 Is one "better" than the other and if so why or why not?

General consensus is that the 3.7 is better. I've used both in my phone and have not noticed a difference.

I thought if you had a 3.8 Verizon would ship you a 3.7?
My 3.8 gave me bad battery life, heat, and that was just sitting stock in standby/sleep. So Verizon gave me a 3.7. Even my extended battery is 3.7. Phone hardly ever gets warm and charges a lot better.

I see the best results on my oem 3.8

we all know that the battery life is crap on the amaze. It's no surprise. What I've been wondering since is why? why is it such a battery hog. In terms of CPU and ram, it's only slightly higher than the sensation and the sensation has a great battery life. I know the sensation and Amaze are completely different phones and hardware is completely different, but what makes the amaze have such a bad battery life? anyone ever able to figure this out?

Might be the kernel, extra horsepower, less optimizations than the sensation?
I always assumed it was the absolutely stunning screen that did it.

It's the display, it uses too much power and heats up too quickly, which uses more energy than it should, that's just imo though.

The display for sure since we're rockin' that qHD, now had it been a Super Amoled - it'll make a big difference in terms of power usage. I've set my display to the lowest (helps out battery drainage most of the time) and i've also downloaded JuiceDefender (works great).

with the emerging on aosp roms, we can tweak the voltage that certain parts of hardware get. you never know, this phone might have had a code problem like the gs3 where they accidentally set the voltage too high and the phones battery died like crazy

You need a real charger. Not a micro usb. Either that or you need a new battery. Roms are not the cause of bad battery.

Get a new battery first let it calibrate itself after a few recharge decharge cycles and then report back. The amaze has some bad batteries that HTC will replace and or T-Mobile also.
