Is their an update is the question .
jje
It won't even find my phone when I hook it upto kies just says can't connect....sorry I'm just a noob this with teach me for tampering with things I know nothing about .. when your parents told you not to touch.. you better not dam well touch lol
I think bvlh1 was the modem as that as listed as orange/T-Mobile......knowing orange I doubt they have ever updated the firmware, if that is the case I can post you a link to original firmware they released, and flashing that should get you kies functionality and in turn, if there is an update, you will/should be able to update.

Did this work.. I'm in exactly the same boat??

Gyroscope 'offset file missing' ??

Hi
noticing today that my camera quick start didnt work, i was wondering if anyone has had this issue before?
i have a blue S3, rooted and i cannot say that i noticed this before.
Once i go to calibrate i get this message: Unable to find Offset file. Try again
anyone knows what that means? i dont know where to look and what files are those. Do i need to reflash? I have a second S3 which i could copy a file if mine are corrupt...
thanks
vas
I'm hoping this is a software issue. Reflashing stock firmware didn't fix it. But if it was a hardware issue, would I be getting a message?
Don't think this is a hardware issue definately looks like the 4.2.1 update broke something with the camara gyroscope open feature. I didn't get the error message you are seeing however my GS3 worked with the feature on the 4.1.1 version FW most likely Samsung just missed this in trying to get the 4.2 update out before the end of the year.
But I'm only on stock kernel and 4.1.2 at the moment.!
Anyone?
wipe phone flash older firmware and test .
jje
So you mean hard reset and flash with 4.1.1 ?
How come my other s3 didn't have this issue?
Has this come up again on 4.1.2 ?

That's why I'm asking. What's the point going back to 4.1.1? If this was more common on 4.1.2 then others would/should have similar problems.
I did a hard reset on 4.1.2 and same thing again.

Check if your gyroscope is still recognized by the phone: dial *#0*#->Sensor and play with the gyroscope tests.
If the folder /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/lsm330dlc_gyro is not present on your phone, then I would guess that the kernel isn't picking up your gyroscope.
Is there a way to replace that folder?
Like from a copy paste or push feature?

Full wipe and reinstall:
Does that mean, Odin or mobile odin, stock firmware and kernel as before, then hard reset ? Or something else?
In the above order or different?
