Hello everyone. My xperia neo fell down and the screen is broken, not the digitizer (i think)
I disambled the whole phone, and i have some doubts. When i only plug the display and turn on the phone, the screen turn on, i can see the screen light. But when i plug the digitizer and the buttons and turn on the phone, the screen doesnt turn on , no light.
Its this a display problem? if i buy a new one it will works? or all the phone is broken?
Where can i buy a new one? Looking for a good seller.

probably u damaged yr board or the connection cable. thats why u never should do sth if u not know what u are EXACTLY doing.
we cant really help here, bcuz to do this we would dissassemble the device & take a look. bring it to a tech shop, bcuz like said sth with the HW is surely damaged. sry

Hello everyone.
I have a problem with my smartphone Sony Xperia Z2. I dropped it and the display broke. I bought a new display. When I connect he went crazy. He began to open the application, clicking like 10 fingers working on it simultaneously. Because I thought that the display is faulty, I've exchanged for a new one. But now even bigger problem. When I turn on him, he does not show anything on the screen except the backlight. Do you know what the problem is and whether anyone had a similar problem? So, when the smartphone turns on, lights up only the backlight but nothing on the screen showing a. At first, there is a lot of vertical lines on display, and once he just fade out, and from that moment display is blank only backlight working. I try to update software, but nothing change. Restarting, and turning off also nothing.
Please help me solve this, for me very frustrating problem.
anyone?

Did you ever get this resolved?
I had this issue after a screen replacement for a shattered screen. I was sure I had damaged something in the process (ribbon flex cable, motherboard, etc). Turns out the replacement screen was faulty. A new working screen solved the issue.
Hi,
Trying to fix a Z2 for a friend. She dropped it, smashed the screen. You could still see the LCD, but the digitizer was fubar. Ordered a new screen assembly, but after the replacement only the LED backlights work - no LCD at all. To test, I reinstalled what was left of the old screen, and no LCD, just backlight, so I don't think it's the new screen. So then I ordered a new main ribbon cable and replaced it. Same result: no LCD, just backlight. You can hear the phone on when it's on, the phone "responds" when you touch the screen, you just can't see anything. I upgraded to the latest software update tonight using PC Companion, but no change.
So, the only thing left is the motherboard, right? I know there is a fuse on the motherboard that, when it fails, it kills the backlight and leaves you with only the LCD. I have the opposite problem. I'm hoping maybe there is something like that for the LCD??
Thanks in advance,
Heath
I have same issues with you and also try ten new lcd all show backlight only..what your solution??
Have you tried to connect it via a MHL cable to TV ?
I have Xperia z3. When I turning on phone Lcd light on but screen blank. I can heat sound and so on. Digitizer when pressing is working as I hear nose. But screen still blank. | tried few screens but still same. What it can be????
Please help.....
This is the Z3v forum not the Z3 forum.
I would say a screen failure though.
Verizon has open enrollment right now so you can enroll in a insurance plan and get another phone, if yours is out of warranty.
Your Display is dead - Had the same problem.
Everything worked fine just my screen wouldn't show me anything. Ultimately I replaced the display by myself because I didn't have any warranty and now it's working again.
You could try to send it back to your vendor or order a new screen (70-100€) from ebay and replace it yourself.
Good luck!
Hello,
I guess I have the same problem:
I got a Z3 one year ago.
But spontaneously the screen just stayed black.
I can boot the phone, the backlight is working. I wait a little bit but the screen is still black.
BUT I can touch and select camera and take a photo. I know, because I can hear the sound of camera. I can open the dial pad and dial a number, I can hear the different sounds.
The phone is original, have never been opened, no other software.
I already tried with "Xperia Companion" to install latest updates and repair the phone. Nothing worked.

Did a screen replacement solved your problem?
A feedback how the problem was solved would be great because I don't wanna buy an expensive screen if anything else is broken in phone.
Hey guys, recently I had my Z2 sent to a service shop because it wasn't turning on or charging. The guy at the shop said that it was the battery fault and he changed it, but he also told me that the screen was not working( flickering, ghost touches, unable to work on it). So he put my old battery on and when I went home the phone actually turned on and booted up, but still I had the screen problem. So whenever I touch the screen it doesn't respond and it touches by itself. Tried putting it on rice for 20 hours, dried with a hairdryer and assembled dissamssebled the screen jacks, still the problems wasn't fix. Do I really need to change the whole LCD or is this a problem that can be fixed?

Yes, you have to change the screen, or more precisely, the digitializer.
But since the LCD and the digitialier come in one-piece, you have to change it as a whole, but at a much lower price, as your screen can be sold again and recycle the good LCD panel.

So replacing the LCD would fix the problem right? That's great then because I found an LCD with a very low price (20$), completely new on ebay and I sucessfuly dissassembled the old LCD out of the phone. I'm gonna buy it as soon as possible. Thanks man.
