You sure you're using
fastboot flash boot boot.img
to flash the boot image?
Have tried counter strike 2.2? I I am so on with amon recovery and I have no issues
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
Like scy said, you have to extract boot.img from the Rom zip and flash it in fastboot

If youre having the same problem I am, then none of this will work sorry. The problem seems to be the kernel, it installs but phone bootloops. The only kernel that works from me is zhp pilot' s 360. Give that a shot. I've given out on flashing any other roms than sense 3.6. This all started after I ruu to global firmware and flashed cm 9...

Probably really dumb...but how long are you waiting ? Most roms can take a minute to boot the first time ,which seems forever sometimes. I usually just put it down and do something else until its done.

Also some roms put a ph98img on Sd card, but you have to boot to bootloader after flashing Rom.

Make sure you launch your custom recovery through the command fastboot boot recovery.img Before trying to flash your roms boot.img
If you have permanently flashed a custom recovery to your phone, it cannot write to the /boot partition.
Also, after flashing rom from amon ra, reboot to bootloader, then use fastboot to flash the boot.img. After that, then you can boot to your home screen.

I don't think you can can you? But I wouldn't worry, it'll come in time. I have a lot of faith, especially with how fast everything else is happening. The phone has only been out 2 weeks today and we have perm-root and recovery both fully working. Now just to get some ROMs going and hopefully full dual-core support.
You should be able to do it through recovery in the form of an update.zip file.

Can you please be kind enough to test this for me... Will the entire Rom flash if its renamed to update.zip including the kernel...?

That depends on the rom that's being flashed. Make a custom kernel in the form of a boot.img and I'll try to test it by recovery.
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda premium
With the htc unlocked method you might have to flash kernels by booting recovery from fastboot because it has the proper permissions

The kernels I have used have also included system material as well as the boot.img - will that limit what can be done?

So the kernels would have to be a separate zip from the Rom?

Not necessarily. Many developers include a custom kernel with their roms.
I think I just messed up. I was following the direction to put the original stock on the device as advised but when I locked the phone it stuck on the HBOOT / Bootloader screen.
How can I fix this??

Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA
if you are looking to flash bamf, I think you have to root it first. Unless you are flashing stock rom, you must have your device root first.

Yea it has been disabled on the Rom I'm running, I was just curious if it would cause problems if I took the update. I'm still learning the ins and outs of rooting. But I understand what your saying, I've seen some time that the ota push was not disabled.

I believe it will fail at the bootloader stage when it encounters a non-stock recovery.
I'm running stock n all I did was flash stock recovery via boot loader then download n install the ota, then flash cwm recovery via bootloader then flash the su zip then boom rooted ota

Is your bootloader locked? Do you have a custom recovery installed? You must have a locked bootloader and not have flashed a custom recovery.. In other words bone stock

Im having an odd problem that I have never seen before. Im trying to flash Newts OnE XxX rom and looking for some help. When trying to flash the rom in recovery after about 5-10 secs. I get a massage saying the instal had failed. Any ideas as to what could be causing this and a way to get the rom to instal? I am s-off using teamwin recovery.

Thanks that did the trick. Never had a recovery give me an issue before when trying to flash anything. Sill have my fingers crossed for 4ext.
No problem. It's been my experience that Amon RA is the best recovery for HTC phones. I've pretty much used it exclusively since the droid eris.
