apps, CM9 doesnt include all sony's bloatware so thats why its smaller. (but be not mistaken, you still have to download 80mb of google apps)

Hi guys can u help me in getting an answer
What is the difference of odexed roms and deodexed roms ?
How can we deodex xperia neo v?
How can i check whtr my rom is odexed or deodexed?
All stock roms are odexed, while custom roms state whether it is deodexed or not on the development page.
Odex roms usually boot up faster, but boot quite slowly after clearing dalvik cache.
Pls search before asking, I can find a ton of answers on Google

Not really. Show me .odex files in stock Sony rom, except framework(which got odexed only on ICS, in GB it wasn't odexed)

even if you meant on ICS only, it's not entirely odexed rom, but just small part, (some of)framework files.

FB app behavior on ODEXED rom
Hey xda-ians...
I have been testing a hell lotta roms on my Neo V including odexed and deodexed....and have come to a conclusion that on odexed rom the FB app acts weirdly like no timeline, missing posts and news feed and moreover if i open FB on the stock browser it is same as in the app unless i switch to the desktop version of FB...
while all this works fine on deodexed roms...
Can anyone sort out y is it so????

I have seen many ICS stock version floating around, when I upgraded from GB I was offered 6.1.1.B.1.10. Just out of curiosity is there any more stable/efficient version available?
It would appear GB is far better than ics on the U

I'm considering downgrading my Gf's U to Gingerbread. She's complaining her phone is slow and the Phone and Messaging Apps open up with a big delay. I've flashed a custom ICS rom last weekend.
Are there any custom Kernels voor Gingerbread on the Xperia U, though?

Ram usage is around 280mb on my XU without any app installed even after I tried 4.1.2 v4 unofficial
I tried bloatware uninstall, hard factory reset also but still same result
Do anyone has some kind of solution or should I refer to Sony service centre to bring back ram issue back to normal after unrooting and locking bootloader???
Please suggest as when I first put official ics ram usage was around 180mb
Thats normal.
Try this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2414390
Also, try using greenify.
But this was not situation before

Even in official ICS I dont know what I installed, changed or removed, but all of a sudden ram usage jumped 100 mb without any more app installed with same configuration
I just want to undo that and want my smooth running phone which it used to be:crying:

Hope It doesnt contain bugs I faced before :crying:
But most of the apps available now are upward compatible from 4.0(For example:Xposed Framework,Nova Launcher, almost all the holo themed apps)......
You may face some issues there..
Hello, everyone. I just bought an old Xperia mini and it is very slow (lagging so much) and I think an upgrade to Kitkat could help it faster but I am not sure about it and do not want to waste the time if it is not really worth it (newbie). So, could you help me with these answer?
1. How approximately fast (percent?) is the Kitkat custom room (carbon rom, pacman...) vs. 4.0.4 Sony xperia mini stock room?
2. How big is the custom room (typically) in comparison to the Sony stock room (My phone always notified me that there is not enough space to install apps despite the fact that I moved most of apps to SD card)
3. (Do not know it is suitable to ask) Which Kitkat custom room is the smallest size? I do not need to customize and my need is very basic.
4. Could I return to Sony stock rom (4.0.4) later if I want?
Thank you

1. it will blast you away. never thought it could be that good (Sony ics is very laggy:silly
2. ROM storage & data (app) storage are to diffrent partition a smalller rom doesent means really u will hav more space for apps, but:
a) never had space probelms with any LX build in apps (& yuo said your needs are basic)
b) u can use mount2sd or app2sd to put apps on SD to gain more space
3. if you say ur needs are basic use LX CM10.1 it has all the basic stuff & works great (better than kitkat bcuz there are many other problems due to lack of proper drivers.) mostly al other roms (PAC & carbon etc) are built on top of it or using as base.
4. yes you can flash a stock ICS ftf file via flashtool. software will be like out of the box.
give your phione some new life & try LX (or based) ROM. its the best at the moment

its just something i would advice to you. you said you have simple needs & all fw (CM -10.1, -10.2, -11) look quite same, only KK CM11 is a bit more with eyecandy. also its the stablest one (best battery & best working drivers from all LX's) at the end its your choice
CM10.1 - stablest & best working
CM 10.2 - somewhere between those two
CM11 - newest
