Why merge all 2012 Xperia Phones in a single section?? - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Why merge so many 2012 Xperia phones in one XDA section??
Its creates a lot of confusion ..
Even Optimus One have its own section.. Clean and simple..
High end phones like Sony XS, T, Acro S, etc should have been placed in a different caregory ( or Even have their own single section...)
Why not!!??
The current thread for the 2012 Xperia phones is kind a messy...

I agree 100%

did you mean 2012 Xperia phone in your title?

This has been discussed many, many, many times before.

Most of the Xperia phones do have similar hardwares and software, and some of you may find it suitable to discuss the phones in a single section , but this is the problem..
I visit the site to check out a XS thread and I see all the threads of other Xperia models piling up, it makes me feel like a stranger in XS section..
It looks so messed up and unorganised... I feel like nothing new is happening for XS in XDA , just to find out a new and helpful tip by an XS user on the second page which was just posted an hour ago..
I mean if the XS forum wasn't flooded with all the other phones, I would have easily seen the "New and helpful " tip on the 1st page...
I know it not hard to navigate but most new tips, guides, etc threads (For a particular phone) tend to be on the 1st page, thats what my previous phones' threads were like and it was easy to navigate too... I like it thay way...

It would help if, as previously suggested by others, people starting threads would prefix the title with [P] etc
But not everyone is as considerate as me.

[Q] Is possible dual boot?

I came across the following doubt, it is possible to dual boot on xperia neo / v? (MT15 and MT11)
general section->search "dual boot" and read reply's.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?searchid=65682006
Further to those threads after searching, even though they say xperia phones do not support dual booting it will be possible. I dual booted my xperia x10 and that is an older phone.
However, it will need a dev to look at it and I am not sure anyone will do that and as one of the threads said, DooMLord has stopped support for the NEO (A great shame, he is the main man for xperia phones IMHO) so unless someone takes this project on I dont think we willsee it happen
Tbh, in theory it can be done, but I don't see the point. There is no universal kernel and the point at which could be hijacked would be post kernel, just like cwm so you could only boot 2xgb or 2xics etc which is an unlikely scenario for many to want.

Well at xda developers do something because they can.
Not because it is wise to do .

Well, it was possible, nobodyAtall made it possible with his ROM called MiniCM, but you had to edit the ramdisk or something if you were a developer and wanted to use it on other ROMs too. But he abaddoned it because it's kinda useless and that's why it doesn't exist on our phones. Not to mention that you had to use a +10 class SD in order not to wait for it to boot more than 15 mins.

Maybe it is question, but there is general section where people can discuss about something, like this dual boot for example, so there is justified reason to search there.
Just saying for future
could someone take a look at this? -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1866675
is this method can apply to our devices?

We cannot repartition, our neo are mtd (similar to raid, sections are mounted for a particular use, but we don't know exactly where the critical stuff is) and with no dedicated separate boot, messing with it is likely to lead to a hard brick with no fast boot/flash mode.

This review is god for the next nexus device.
But this bit of it is deal breaker for me...
Wireless charging has also been rumored for the new Nexus device, as well as a few negatives - like a non-removable battery and a max 16GB of storage with no microSD slot.

the wireless charging sounds good, but only 16gb memory.....no thanks
I think the SD card thing was proven to be a false rumor. I doubt that Google will just remove one of the biggest positives of android over competitors.
True,
But if check this out it has no details for the Storage expansion on the xperia s. Now I may be wrong but that suggests to me that with 32gb internal they think there is no need for external card.....
so does the xperia s have an external expansion slot? And if not, there is a precedence for makers not including one. And what about no removable battery? Seems very i(diot)phone like to me...
EDIT
I can confirm the xperia s has NO sd card slot....no chance for expanding the memory....bad move from sony
Yeah I do agree it's a very bad move, but let's wait and see lol.
ok, just ordered an xperia t for me and another one for my misses...
will be here in the week, see you guys soon, and keep up the good work!

Glad for you man Just hope you will get used on capacitive keys, as I hear, it needs practice for them. On Xperia P they are great really great, not sure why they didn't use same on other models
Also, sorry to see you leaving one of the few, good, helpful and respective users with great answers. Have fun on T section
Yeah dude, sorry to see you leaving. One less person with a brain on this sub forum :-/
But hey congrats on your new device and good luck with it

Why?
Just because of water/dust resistant?
The only problem with sony phones is they have a low battery backup....
Well my xperia t arrives in the morning, so it will mostly be goodbye from me, however, my daughter is getting this neo so I may still be knocking about

Why the Sony Xperia V is the real new flagship
I advise you to wait nexus optimus g or lg optimus g
The Sony Xperia V loses out to the Xperia T in terms of storage (8GB of flash storage versus 16GB for the Xperia T),

Well as the thread title say it's time to say good bye to everyone in neo & 2011 xperia sections I guess =)
I will be here till I release the final build of pureness rom this week and that's it I guess.Still Xperia Neo section will be my home in xda always.I started android modding in this section with not even knowing what is root & learned a lot.All the guys were great as always, supported a lot.
In this moment I specially like to thank Zdunex25 :good: taught me lot of stuff about android themeing and a very nice guy =)
It has been a fun ride with Xperia Neo V :good:
sayonara guys
ps.if anyone who is a fan of my pureness rom and coming to sgs3 then in coming days you can have the rom in s3 too
Hello,
Going to keep an eye on this thread, hopefully everyone will use it for their goodbyes. If it looks like it's being used more frequently I will make it a sticky. Only problem with stickies is they don't automatically pop up on the app so sometimes they get overlooked.
Greg, I haven't been a mod over here for long but in that short time I've seen you offering help often. I appreciate that and wish you luck with your new phone!
Thanks,
DSB

"Xperia 2011 series mobiles are awesome, they are doing lot better with XDA developers love;
Only thing stopping us to experience JB on OUR devices is 'CAM LIBS'
Sony Dev's plz do us a favour , we are not requesting for whole JB update,
we are just requesting the codes of JB cam, so we can cook our JB Roms and use your great cam quality on Custom JB roms;"
Signed

Why is the general forum having so many sign this or that petition threads? These kinds of thread are of no use. Why do you think a petition with some handful of people signing it will matter such a company? I know you guys are not doing it intentionally and just requesting the company you have bought phone from to listen to your requests and demands. I don't say it's wrong but cmon guyz so many threads are made..do u see any positive result? No....instead these threads just hide the other more useful threads behind and are considered no less than spam. Mods please look to it.
Thanks
Best Regards,
AJ

This is not a good bye (A Message for devs)

Hello,
XDA devs and users
I am a proud member of this forum from last 2 and half years and i have learnt so many things from you people during this period. Recently i bought Moto X and i am not doing any experiments until warranty gets expired on this phone (just want to play safe here ). So important things is here, my neo v is doing nothing but seating in my drawer. So this is a message to all devs if you want to test some werid stuff i am available for you, now bear in mind that i am a working professional so i might be late to reply but i will try to be helpful in any way possible.
Thank you very much to all devs out there to make my neo v awesome as possible (Special thanks to @mikeioannina he kept our phones alive). And as the title says this is not a good bye to neo v forum.
