I've tried almost every single JB ROM that's been made for the galaxy note to date, and on every single one I've experienced regular reboots. At first I thought they were random, as I couldn't see any pattern tying to any particular apps I was using or actions I was taking at the time. However, over the past few weeks I've started to notice what I think is a pattern. It appears that the crashes almost always happen right when a calendar alert fires.
I used 3 exchange-type accounts, and I've experienced the crashes both with enhanced email, and the built-in email client. Also have had them with regular calendar reminders, as well as an app called calendar snooze, which handles calendar alerts.
So I was wanting to know if anyone else has been seeing the same thing, or at least start trying to pay attention to your reboots, if you have any. The calendar reminders appear to be the key, but I am looking for more information/confirmation.

Do you have any exchange accounts configured on your device, with calendar alarms set?

I'm running the latest nightly from CM10, I have my corporate exchange plus Gmail and my stock calendar is tied to both. I have not had any issues with my notifications.

When I was running JB, I never had those issues.

Check out enhanced email 's support page they are having issues with all enhanced emails that were purchased through Google play. Something to do with install location.

Enhanced Email is Amazon's free app of the day. It's normally 10 bucks! I'm downloading it now and I don't even need an email client lol. I use Gmail. I've heard good things about it. Might as well go grab it.

This is the best email client hands down! I have bought every option on the market.

Took a quick look at this this morning before work - didn't see an option for push only support, only scheduled polling. Did I miss something?
Would love this app if they had not eliminated the ability to use the "contacts" list to select the recipients for new/forwarded emails.

I dont really see any advantages between this and the email app that comes with our phones. I have my exchange account set to my stock email app and it does everything for me that I need. What are the "enhancements"?

I have been using the stock app for my work email (gmail for personal), and just switched to this one. The main reason I switched is that Enhanced Email allows me to select multiple messages and mark them as read, or perform other actions on them. If there is a way to do that with the stock application, I couldn't find it. That alone is reason enough for me to switch.

I mark multiple emails as read all the time in the stock email client. I will admit the Enhanced Email app is a nicer touch compared to the stock client.

agreed. I'm trying this app now but other than a slight cosmetic difference, its the same thing. At least for the options that I need, its the same.
i like it but is there a way to adjust the vibrate? its a little much...
I bought enhanced email about a month ago. The main reason leaving stock email was because I would delete emails, close the email app, and then I'd get another email notification for the emails I just deleted. I'd have to reopen the email app just to reset the notifications.

Enhanced mail handles attachment better than stock and any other client. You get and email with an attachment and you want to forward it automatically forwards the attachment. This is huge for me for work.

Great find would have missed out on this one. For those wondering like myself if this is worth the switch i say yes. Just as nice as stock but looks much nicer with graphic heavy mail.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
Downloaded it earlier and configured it just now for my Hotmail account (I know, but it's too much effort to switch). I love it so far.
Before I was using the stock Froyo app on my Desire but it had a lot of short comings (no html, no text copy, when I forward an email it would send it as an attachement!). Tried K9 which I liked, but it doesn't support EAS. Tried Nitro, but it was overkill for what I wanted as it is aimed more at corporate accounts.
So far EE ticks all the boxes...hope it stays that way.

you need a valid card on file with Amazon in order for them to process the order. they may need to charge $1 temporarily, but it doesn't go through. their payment system definitely won't accept closed accounts, free or not.

There's LOTS of additions over stock. Trust me, I'm the developer lol. I've spent about a year working on it, adding features that my users ask for. And I decided to give back by offering it for free for a day. You can trust someone who is telling you to download an app that's free lol. It'd be different if I was trying to convince you to buy it. Tick the checkboxes next to as many messages as you want and a menu bar will appear at the bottom with buttons. Among those is "mark read/unread" and other buttons.

To everyone on here, I don't and probably won't look back at this thread because I'm so busy. So if you want to get a hold of me do so by sending me a PM here on XDA or joining my forum for EE at enhancedemail.net. Hope you all enjoy my giving back to the community by offering it for free today. It's my way of saying thank you for all the support and to help out those that really wanted it but couldn't afford it. Especially all those college kids on limited budgets. I was a college student just 4 years ago but finally graduated

It worked for me, but I felt it wasn't necessary. The UI was too basic to really use compared to the full version of the same apps.
Thanks for the input but do you have a suggestion for me?
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
I had to return here for suggestions (so I get notifications), I get Linked and Facebook. When I go to add an account, I see them (checked because I have them) and I see Twitter (Not checked because I don't use it).
I want to add Google+ and Yahoo. Even when I am up and chatting on both of them, Social will not show them to add. I am clueless!

This is EXACTLY why I use this Widget. I work in IT and have done so for MANY years. I had Yahoo IM @ 12 years ago, @ 4 years ago I started with FB, This June, I got Google+. The last 3 years I have traveled the world with job, some friends are on Facebook, some on +, some still on Yahoo.
I have 760+ contacts, everyone keeps asking "Whats up, what have you been up to?" I cannot possibility answer them all, except with Social Networking, weather they want to read it or not. One post, everyone is happy.
Now, Like you stated, If I want a more personalized experience, I go to the app it's self.
Thanks everyone but the problem I'm having is I don't get anything on the widget and all it says is add an account.

Is there an alternative mail app that compares to the iphone mail client. The current mail app is not up to par for my needs and I do not not like the user interface

I prefer k9 mail. The user interface takes some getting used to, it's not that intuitive but it gives me a customizable unified in box and works well once you figure out how to navigate through it.

Describe some of your needs or maybe something you'd prefer in the interface. Maybe someone can go off that.
I agree with KingWp1 put some criteria down. I personally think the iPhone email app is weak and leaves a lot to be desired in a mobile mail app.

I've used k9 for a long time, but upgraded to kaiten when I got my Nexus 7 because I wanted dual panes. It's basically the tablet version of k9, but has some extra features and still works good on the phone.

Well really the ios mail app suited my needs completely, I don't really know how to explain it. I like how I don't have to resize the message on iOS that's my main delema

As mentioned, a little bit more info of your requirements would be helpful in suggesting a specific app. I personally did not like the stock Mail app that came with the S3. The problem I found was that if I read an email from my Outlook on my PC, the notification would not go away on my phone. I had a Galaxy Nexus before this and the mail app there would clear the notification, without me having to clear it, if I read the email from Outlook. I ended up removing my current mail + exchange app and replacing it with the stock ICS mail app:

Some good news, Google acquired Sparrow. It is the best mobile mail client I have ever used, looking forward to it coming to Android.
I just started using MailDroid free myself. The pro version is expensive, but I'll see what I thing after I've been using it a while.

I create unique return address for everyone I send emails to, K9 is the only app I could find that allows change the return address. Only because of that feature I'm stuck with K9, although don't like how difficult and not intuitive the interface is.
I'm looking for one app that can do multiple accounts. I have a hotmail account and a gmail account. The stock email account won't do gmail for whatever reason, so I'm using that for hotmail and the gmail app for gmail. I'm coming from the iPhone, and it was nice to have both of my email accounts in one app. So I'm looking for that. I know you guys have to know of some great apps that can do it.
Thanks!
Try K-9. Its free..

Thanks.
I was worried at first because the first page upon opening that app says it doesn't support free accounts like Hotmail. But I put in my account info and everything worked perfectly. Which was surprising because I went to enter my gmail account info and it keeps giving me an error saying my username or password is incorrect. But I can use the exact same info to sign into gmail on my laptop...
There is aqua mail also. But K-9 is much better.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
Ah, I guess my 2-step verification was causing a problem. Had to get an application specific password and now K9 works.
Not really a fan of the way it looks though, so I guess I'll just have to stick to two separate email apps.
Thanks for the help, though.
+1 for K9 email. I have used it before and it works great.
I also think k9 is your best bet.

You can change the k9 theme from light to dark, but it's limited unless you theme it yourself.
Another vote for K9 mail. I got it running 3 different email accounts.
K9 is good, but I've also used MailDroid, which I liked.
MailDroid Pro.
I was insane enough to pay the sticker price years ago. It is a really good app though.
Hello children. Uhhhmmm I recently flashed epinters 10.1. Actually this is the first time flash a custom rom. I just wanna ask about my facebook contacts.
