What hboot u have? Are u s-on or s-off?
Try to relock your bootloader and install official RUU to back on original rom and firmware. Then make unlock again...

If you did not s-off after unlocking and you're trying to run JB ROMs it will not work..
If you want to run ICS you should be on 1.58 and if you want anything else then 1,5 or lower and s-off.
what ROM's are you trying to run. most new ones require 1.5 or lower and those ICS based require 1.58. I was running CoolRom and had to run 1.58. when i switched to JB roms I had to downgrade to 1.5 or i would bootloop.

There is a list of ROMs under Android Development thread (CDMA or GSM). You can downloaded official stock unrooted ROMs or stock rooted ROMs.
if you do it will change your hboot and relock your evo but you will still have s off and yes you will loos root but you can root it and regain s off by going through the steps at alpharevolutionary.io and reinstall your custom recovery aswell

You need to flash chads rls 1 kernel, from what ive read its the only way to get booted on HBOOT 1.5
can u send me a download liink please
you're honestly better off not flashing that Kernel. you need true S-Off for the real ICS experience. that kernel will make everything laggy/buggy and charging will not work while phone is on, as well as random resets AND 3D/4g will not work.
One of the main reasons I decided to S-off is to use the stock Linux 3 kernel on ICS and EVERYTHING works flawlessly so far! look in the development section for jopounutbear's S-off guide, should be on the first page. took me a couple tries but it's worth it. Truly made me feel like I got an early upgrade and a new phone!
If you S off with that trick, PLEASE read the entire thread. Also, try 4ext as your recovery and see if if you can flash ICS roms with it. While some the majority of people were able to use the wire trick successfully, some people were having lots of issues as well.
Personally, 4ext recovery worked beautifully for me and the wire s off method was a nightmare. Best of luck to you!

The problem is not your recovery Chads Rls 1 kernel will break 3d but 3g and wifi are good. The only way around it is to downgrade HBOOT then you wont have to flash rls 1, the stock ics kernel is fully functional

An unlocked bootloader is NOT s-off... I HIGHLY recommend you downgrade or to gain the True s-off . Installing an ICS Rom on an unlocked bootloader just means your lazy. It's like eating an Artificial ice cream sandwich. AKA not original, changed. Not as good. I don't know.

Frist you will need to downgrade to HBOOT 1.49.1107 and then S-OFF your phone.. just rooting it does not help.!!
Just follow this to downgrade :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22494488&postcount=1
and this for S-off:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17233858&postcount=1
(SCROLL DOWN until you see : S-OFF & ROOT)
Keep in mind that in order to do downgrade you need to relock your phone and when its time to S-OFF it you need to unlock it again ! good luck!
Or if you want to flash Rom S-ON, I think you I'll manually have to flash boot.img using fastboot and then everything should be fine, according to me !

Hi
I did not meant that my phone will stuck on htc logo when flash a new rom. I couldn't install the ics rom in the first place. When i click install zip from the sd card in the recovery. Its shows updating package then, it shows some error on the file.
I thought it was the file at first but i downloaded back and the same error appeared.
I m running custom rom shooter beats right now and thats the only rom that works for me right now.
I hope u can help me... Thanks for ur reply.

I'm a noob so I cant message in the development forum.
Is anyone else having issues flashing the rooted stock ICS zip? Info- Rooted and S-OFF using revolutionary, TWR, Eng and updated to the lastest radios (ICS) and SU.
After installing ICS I get stuck on the yellow and white sprint 3D screen and then the phone reboots over and over and over...?
thanks for the help!

That should work but it might be worth flashing the RUU rather than the piecemeal update of ROM, firmware and hboot as separate zips. You will need to reflash your custom recovery afterwards, but that's pretty easy since you stay S-OFF after running the RUU, then you can flash a rooted ROM. That will make sure your phone is 100% in sync with the Sprint ICS update.

What firmware and bootloader do you have installed and what ROM do you want to flash?
You won't brick your phone by flashing a ROM but it might not flash properly depending on how you do it, or boot if it's not compatible with your current bootloader.

If you're on Sprint, I recommend ramjet's guide to getting s-off. It makes flashing Roms and kernels a piece of cake.

Try rebooting and give it plenty of time for the first boot. If that doesn't work, from the "wipe | format" menu in 4EXT recovery run the "format all partitions (except sdcard)" then flash the ROM again.
The 6th Sense ROM should work with that combination.
ramjet73
im going to try that now thanks for the help and the guide you made
