Thanks a lot:
i am trying to charge the battery with external source & insert...
i know that the performance of my phone was better with Android Gingerbread 2.3.7 mods - so wanted to go back...
i am not at all trying to hold any one responsible, i find it fun...
presently i want to end this by installing the one which was stable & fast for me.....
i have read the FAQ
any extreme suggestion too is welcome....:highfive:
Thanks to all Senior members & nAa

1. Install nAa 14 kernel with flashtool
2. Reboot the phone end immediately enter CWM
3. From Mounts and Storage menu, format /cache, /data and /system (you need to do that because the partition sizes are different between jb and gb)
4. From the advanced menu wipe dalvik cache
5. Do a wipe data/factory reset from the main menu
6. Reboot system and enter again CWM
7. Install the gb rom you like

it works

Thanks to B-Paul nAa & DarkDog & other contributors....
Thanks, but my problem seems to be in the micro USB port of the phone too. I have a doubt whether it can be replaced. Although it detects the cable but not most of the time. So I am using a external battery charger for time being.
The boot loader does not point to charging always even when its shutdown properly & plugged to charge, instead it goes to the CWM recovery. The last instruction is not registered well/properly instead it always tends to boot the OS or go to CWM Recovery....
I did not flash the 7.2.2 since I started to feel that the new Kernel from nAa jb.2 has improved the performance of memory handling a little & the home does not crash like the 7.2.0.
I have a very bad experience with the camera & video recording performance as mostly a noise band appears on the screen & photo comes black & video too comes same.... I think the driver for photo & video needs some more improvement...
Some apps gets into the phone memory for security or their code itself.........
Going to try some other ROM just for fun.......
If we can make those /system & /data etc. virtual and we can add space from memory, performance could be improved
Looking forward for great ROMS in Windows8 style on X10 mini pro.

[How-To] Get Cm7 by Jerpelea working without any known issues = no WLOD)

Cause of I read it from many users, that they get WLODs anymore on the newest Cm7 release from J and I haven't problems, I'll share a list with steps to install it, with that it worked for me perfectly.
If you have a working Recovery you can start directly with step 6
1. Flash with Flashtool a stock firmware
2. Boot up into stock
3. Activate usb debugging
4. Root it (connect phone with activated debugging mode and press in flashtoll root)
5. Install FreeXperiaRecovery (connect phone again, click "ask root permissions" and then click on xrecovery button)
6. Download the Cm7 rom form here, and the two files from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1073859
7. Copying all files needed for flashing the rom on your sdcard: Cm7 rom and the Screen off fix
8. Reboot and check if you can enter Recovery
9. If not, start at the point where you install it via Flashtool
10. If yes, take out the battery and wait ~15-30 sec.
11. Now put your battery in again and flash the .ftf bundle from the thread i linked above
12. If it flashed succesfully reboot and enter Recovery. Make ALL available wipes (full wipe, wipe cache, wipe system, wipe battery stats, wipe dalvik cache. I think that are all, right?) Now DON'T reboot before you made the next step, cause you have to start from zero if you reboot before making the next step
13. Flash the Cm7 rom
14. Flash the screen off fix
15. Reboot and wait until you get into the rom.
Note:
I know that J provides a own Baseband package, but i use this .ftf bundle, where I mixed the 435 Firmware parts with the amss.sin of the bb.52 bundle available in the bbcollection thread and I haven't any problems with this and on that way, you haven't to flash always the normal and the modded bb if you switch between roms.

I have runned this way J020b, I would try the c, but I can't! It's bad, but my phone is at the se service point for repairing it. But if I get it back, I'll install directly the latest Cm7 version again.

If you download Flashtool 0.2.9.1 there is FreeXperiaRecovery included. Look into the list, there wrote to click on the xrecovery button for installing FreeXperiaRecovery. The files are included in flashtool.

Hey, just for clarification - I thought it was never a good idea to use the option
"format system" in the "partion tools" sub menu of xrecovery?
Doing this will erase everything - including xrecovery itself [self destruct] and therefore the user would not have any option except complete reflash if anything were to go wrong with the subsequent install.... ?
Correct me if I am wrong.
Edit: if this is what you meant by "wipe system" in OP !

Yes i ment this.............maybe you're right, cause it will be formatted by installing the rom, too.........hm..will correct op.
Edit: I made it that way always, and had never problems, so i haven't thought about it.
no its COMPLETELY fine to format system AS LONG AS, you flash the rom RIGHT AFTER (DO NOT REBOOT THE PHONE BEFORE FLASHING ROM AS RECOVERY WILL HAVE BEEN ERASED).
When you format system, and install the rom, the rom has recovery built into it as well and it installs the recovery to your system partition when you flash the rom.
So as long as you dont reboot after format system and install the rom first, your fine.
Hello 9lukas5,
I thought I might mention that I've finally managed to fix my wlod but by installing setcpu on the earlier version of J's rom I was using, and setting it up to on boot run the processor at the usual 998 speed. Then I flashed the update.zip (from j's latest release, just formats the system) which didn't remove setcpu so the cpu was running at 998, this stopped all the random reboots and wlods.
I tried for a couple of weeks to use an update, trying so many different ways of stopping my phone being unusable as soon as I flashed the updates due to wlods.
Just though I'd mention it in this thread as it was on topic. Not everyones fix I'm sure, but helped me.
Cheers for all your support and help with installing the roms.

K - Right on, ty. Just so it's out there and people know ;-)
I believe the majority of WLODs are to due with the CPU constantly running at full speed.
I was getting a lot of WLODs with FreeXperia Kernel-10 on my ROM until I manually set the CPU governor to on demand.
Just go into Cyanogen Settings and change the CPU governor to on demand (it probably already is set to on demand, so change it to something else and then change it back to on demand).
After that my CPU was running at more than the max frequency and I haven't had many WLOD's (think I've had one since, a major improvement).
Erm not to be funny but their are no WLOD due to the changes J has made in his new version, regardless of how I flash it, no WLOD anymore... It has nothing to do with the way you flash the rom that caused this...
Hi guys,
I have follow ALL step from the step 1.
The phone boot, ask for the PIN code, then the page to change the language and then WLOD...
Do you think it come from the CPU frequency ?
I can't found the BTS kernel for this ROM.
Thank you for your help.
hmm....I shared it cause I hadn't any problems of WLODs yet on Cm7 since J019
Hello all,
the main trouble I had causing wlod, was definitely the clock speed. When I flashed the rom (about twenty times, different ways) I would not get enough time to configure any cpu settings, or any other settings, before my phone crashed and it would just start to bootloop with wlod.
I had to install setcpu on an older version of j's rom which didn't have overclock. Checked the box to apply settings on boot. So that when I flashed j's latest rom which is just the update of the system, all my apps were there (didn't bother wiping cache, data, etc) setcpu was still running on boot to keep the cpu set to 998.
Haven't had a single problem since, apart from low battery phone crash.
I tried so many different ways to flash before trying this, hope this helps someone.

Need help, think Brick

hello everyone,
i think i bricked my Xperia S somehow.
what i did is :
1 unlocked the boot loader.
2 update my kernel with ics13.elf
after this my phone was still working.
then i put the FXP134-cm-9-20120817-UNOFFICIAL-anzu on my internal space (turned out to be for Arc, how stupid ididnt read)
i started with the custom recovery and installed CM9 but it gave an error and stopped ( cause of arc software i think but didnt knew it then)
then i did the following as explained on some sites:
-wipe data/factory reset
-advanced > wipe dalvik
-mounts > format system
-mounts /mount system
after this step i rebooted, cause then i found out i gotthe wrong CM9 and wanted to put the right one on my internal space.
after the reboot Sony logo prompted and just freezes there.
cant turn of or on my phone, have to wait till the battery is empty.
but then again when i charge it a little the logo comes and freezes again.
now i try to do safeboot or recovery both wont work.
PLZ plz help me.
ty P.
you've got 2 possibilities:
1st:
reflash the advanced stock kernel and boot into recovery
download the right CM9 file > http://get.cm/get/jenkins/5933/cm-9.0.0-nozomi.zip
try to mount USB mass storage and place the file on your phone
restart the process of installing CM9 like you did before
2nd:
flash a stock firmware via flashtool
let it boot, download the CM9 file and place it on your phone
flash advanced stock kernel , boot into recovery and install CM9.

did u wipe Dalvik Cache!???
Are you sure you followed all the steps properly and you chose Xperia mini? Try it again
0. Locked Boot Loaders should Install CWM
1. Reboot to cwm.
2. Wipe data/factory reset.
3. Wipe cache partition.
4. Wipe dalvik cache under advanced menu.
5. Format data under mount and storage menu.
6. Format system under mount and storage menu.
7. Format cache under mount and storage menu.
8. Install zip from sd card.
9. Follow the steps in aroma installer to install the rom.
10. Untick Reboot Device when installation completed.
11. Go back to CWM & Reboot from there.
12. When System boots up go to Developer Option & Tick "Force GPU Rendering".
13. Active Users Flash Home_Key fix from Addon Section
Note: After installation, first boot may take several minutes (to create cache, dalvik cache etc.) to start your device. Leave your device for 20-30 minutes to settle down the rom. Also at first boot you may notice a high ram usages (less free ram). It is natural because android system occupy a lot of memory while settling down the new rom. After 30-40 minutes reboot your device and you are now ready to fly with your newly installed rom.

Yes i've selected it. And it still doesn't work. Any help? I really want to use that rom so bad.
Did you flash the kernel Included (or recomended) for your rom? because if you are stuck at a sony logo it seems to me that you still have stock kernel.
Edit: it seems that you have just hot boot the first kernel with recovery so when you boot again it just revert to stock Kernel.
That would explain why you can't access to recovery the second time.
You need to really flash the kernel:
1. Turn your phone off
2. Plus the usb Cable in While pressing volume up.
3. "fastboot flash boot boot.img" If you use fastboot in command line or "Select Kernel to Flash" button if you use fastboot in Flashtool.
Edit2: Ok I just realised that you have Locked bootloader so what i just told you won't work. Sorry.
Did you really follow step 10 and 11 and chose "reboot to system"?
The only thing I can think of would be to unlock your bootloader using mihahn thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1879750 and then install a custom kernel.

yeah i've never seen a feedback from people that's using the zelly cream rom with a stock kernel, maybe the problem is with the stock kernel. Now i'll try some other custom roms out there maybe they'll work with the stock kernel and a locked bootloader.

Hi, the first time i tried this i only wiped data/factory reset and nothing else, so when i rebooted from recovery mode i got stuck at sony logo. Took me some time to fix everything (flash stock ICS on device, root phone and install cwm again).

Now when i rebooted from CWM (recovery mode) the sony logo appears for about 10 sec, than disappears for about 5-10 sec, and it's doing this over and over again for about 10min now.
Any ideas ?

I actually didn't do that, because when i reboot from CWM (after installing rom) that's where the sony logo flashes in about 10s intervals.
unable to install custom rom
Hi guys..Currently I'm using "Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro".I have rooted my phone by "Flash Tool" for Sony, I also unlocked my bootlocker too that time.
After the rooting process has been finished I have installed "ROM manager" from Play Store. Then I install "CWM v5.0.2.7" via ROM manager. But the whole problem is that now i can't istall custom ROM for my device. Because in the CWM recovey menu it is showing "Xperia Arc[v03] {ICS}".
I am able too wipe factory data, cache and delvik cache, it is also showing installation process of custom rom. After the installation process completed, my phone is not booting into Custom Rom. Its repeatedly showing sony icon, then it is automatically rebooting. I took back up for my phone also, and I can also recover from that. Also I tried "X-parts" app from play store, and installed cwm for xperia 2011 series. But the same "Xperia Arc" is showing till now.
note: I followed all the steps[/B]

[Q] Wildfire S Fastboot Loop

-Flash Superwipemarvelcedition.zip (when it is installed in the terminal letters on the phone screen it says to restart and boot into recovery again before i proceed any further, i did it that way and without it (so yes i tried 2 times)).
-Flash custom ROM (with the Aroma installer, when i finished making choices, as if i want to have gapps, or what equalizer and player to use it goes into the process screen and in like 1-2 sec it's says it's finished without me seeing any action in the process meter except the starting 0.00%).
-Reboot promoted by the Aroma installer, witch brings me to the recovery mode again.
-ReBoot from recovery and then is brings me in FastBoot, every time i reboot is like i am holding the "VolDown + Power" simultaneously, couse every time i boot it goes there, to FastBoot...
-I tried again with diferent settings in the Aroma and it's always the same...
PLZ help me, i don't know what i can do...

Could be that the rom didn't install properly. Try a different rom and see if it fixes the problem.

I am not familiar with your phone but does it have a external sdcard which you can insert. Try going to recovery and there should be an option to mount your phone storage to make it see able by a pc.

Yeah right, found it, thanks.
That ROM seems to be buggy so I decided to try this one and I'm fully satisfied (everything works!).
To extend your internal space (150 MB) with your SD I would follow this instructions. Btw: I have done that steps before flashing the new ROM and it worked, I did not have to do this again after flashing, I think because this ROM has int2ext integrated, but I'm not sure, it just worked that way.

[TUT] From GB to JB

Hello XDA!
I am here to show you how to, go from Gingerbread (2.3.x) to Jellybean (4.x.x). Or from Jellybean to Gingerbread.
Okay, let's begin
Going from Gingerbread to Jellybean
Requierments
*An X10 Mini what is running nAa's GB kernel and a GB ROM.
*Flashtool
*Courage
1.Put a JB ROM on your SD Card that run with the nAa JB kernel.
2.You have to go to recovery (in kernel) by,
-Turning your phone off.
-Then pressing the back button while turning the phone on.
3.You have to do a big wipe, here are the things you need to do in recovery,
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache partition
-advanced > wipe dalvik cache
-mounts and storage > format /system, format /sd-ext
-turn off
4.You have to download the nAa JB kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2136471). And place it in the Flashtool/firmwares folder.
-Open Flashtool
-Press on the thunderbolt and select the 2.6.32.60-nAa-jb-05 kernel and then OK
-Now that your phone is off, hold the back button and connect the USB to the phone and wait for the phone to go to flashmode (green LED will appear). If the green LED appears, let go off the back button. It will flash the kernel, if it says disconnect the phone and disconnect it and turn it on. You will go automaticly to recovery.
5.You have to flash the custom JB ROM. To do so.
-Install .zip from SD Card
-And choose the custom ROM and select it and flash it
-After it is done let it reboot for a while, it takes about 2-5 minutes depending of the ROM.
Going from Jellybean to Gingerbread
1. Download a Gingerbread ROM and place it on SD Card.
2. Go into recovery and,
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache partition
-advanced>wipe dalvik cache
-mounts and storage>format /system, format /sd-ext
-and leave the phone still and recovery for later, don't reboot or something, just leave it like it is.
3. Download the nAa GB kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1256739) and place it in Flashtool/firmwares folder.
4. Flash the GB kernel
-open Flashtool
-select the thunderbolt and select the GB kernel and press OK
(Now comes the really hard part!)
-now from earlier you did all the wipes in recovery, your phone is still in recovery, you have to press the home button and power button at the same time, the phone will do a force reboot, before the phone can boot connect the USB and hold on back button to go into flashmode, if you can't, try again until you can get to flashmode.
5. Flash the GB ROM,
-install .zip from SD Card, then select ROM and then select yes.
-reboot
