[Q] Sony Xperia Sola - Recovery Mode - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

After updating to ICS my phone feels sluggish and I want to whipe the cash in the recovery mode.
How to I enter recovery mode in Sony Xperia Sola (vanilla firmware).
All the combinations (of buttons to press during boot) I found didn't worked. Is the recovery mode disabled?
Regards
Chris

The combinations your talking about are found in custom CWM. In stock ICS you cant do that, just do a factory reset and it will fresh the phone.

First of all is u on stock firmware(vanilla never herd of it ) if yes then there is no way u can directly boot into recocery cause Sony don't have pre installed recovery like Samsung...
If on custom rom with CWM Installed then follow the procedure told in the thread of the from ur using
Default Key Combination: Boot phone and hold volume + key when Sony logo pops and phone vibrates..
if not then follow my post for locked bootloaders over here

Hit Thanks If I Helped!!

You need to first flash a kernel with CWM if you want to get into some sort of recovery.
If you wish to stick to vanilla, then it's easiest to backup your apps and perform a factory reset. When the rom first came out, that's one way to remove the lag.

Restore stock firmware with Flashtool, as WotanServer is no longer free. You can find stock firmware files from the forum, my tutorial for example(check in signature).
To use Hybrom ROM, you need to unlock bootloader, then install custom kernel and then install the ROM.
The kernel probably already includes Clockworkmod Recovery, so you don't have to install it. Just enter the recovery after kernel installation, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache and Dalvik cache and then install the ROM.
Thanx a hell lot
I got my phone recovered
Rerooted busy box installed
N tried installin cyanogen 7.1
Some error again :-(
Did is properly
Tried installin cyanogen on x8 long back
Without unlockin boot loader
Worked extremely wel
But here, not happenin :-(
It's very unlikely the ROM you're trying to install requires only the stock kernel, have you double checked the thread to make sure an unlocked bootloader isn't required?
All 2011 Xperia custom ROMs require custom kernel and unlocked bootloader.
Only Xperia UXP NXT ROM can run on stock kernel, every other ROM you must unlock bootloader and install custom kernel.

Bootloader unlock voids warranty. Official method also removes DRM keys.
Installing custom ROM removes all your data.

Yes, if you use the official unlock method you'll permanently lose DRM keys (which will stop things such as TrackID working).
The s1tool method retains these keys.
Edit: Ninja'd by Someguy .

Only the original TrackID stops working, if you install from Market, it will work.
So far I have had no problems with losing DRM keys.

Turn off phone, hold down Volume UP, connect USB Cable, then your phone is in fastboot mode, blue LED lights up. The screen stays turned off, nothing will appear there. You are now able to install kernels via fastboot. To exit this, just disconnect the cable.
The same thing, but with Volume DOWN button and your phone is in flashmode, then you can install stock firmware back via Flashtool or SMUS(Sony Mobile Update Service).
To enter Recovery, turn on your phone in regular way, and when screen turns brighter(on some custom kernels, also LED turns on), click Volume DOWN button many times until the Recovery menu appears.

Btw this Forum is for xperia Mini (pro) (sk17i) and Not for x10 Mini pro (u20i?). But:
When you try to enter cwm, what Do you mean with Start and hold volume +/-? You nedd to press it again and again, then you get in cwm. If that doesn't work Flash stock Firmware back.

[Q] Flashed a ROM , Can't Enter Recovery , Can Do Nothing

Hey Guys .
I'm Not a Noob In Android But This Low - End Devices Just Are So Confusing.
I've Got a Xperia Mini Pro ( With Keyboard ) . and I Rooted It and Installed X - Parts http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437840
and Flashed This ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739569&page=2 .
After Flashing , Now I Can't Enter Recovery ( I Press The Buttons at The Sony Ericsson Logo , No Luck )
The Screen Goes Blank After The Logo and I Can't Do Anything.
Do You Suggest Anything?
( Boot Loader Locked , I Selected The Lock Option In AROMA )
Thanks In advance.
Can you get into recovery mode?
1)Take out the battery of your phone, wait for a few minutes, put it back again.
2) Then hold down the volume key, and plug in the usb cable (connected to your computer)
Does the LED light flash green? If it does, you can flash the official firmware back into your phone and get it working again.
if you have bootloader locked, that would mean that recovery would also be removed, you should have installed the postInstallCWM which can be found here in the forums. i suggest that you reflash stockROM and root then install CWM again. you should have read the forums about custom roms and locked bootloaders
Try this for recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1774119
and this for flashing ROM on locked bootloader: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832255
Use the power button not the volume down

[Q] Xperia P Bootloop (BRICK?)

Hey guys!
I'm not allowed to post this into the development section for the xperia p, so I have to do it here.
I've decided to root my xperia p. So, I unlocked the bootloader and rooted my device following these instructions using flashtool method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1900172. Right after that, I flashed over this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1894463.
I was pretty happy with this setup until I realised, that this kernel still has some bugs that need fixing and is not ready for stable everyday-use. (In my opinion..)
What I did next was flashing back to the stock kernel, which can be found in the same thread in the first post (for people who want stock kernel with custom CWM) and now my p is in a constant bootloop, turning on and off, without showing any logo and not giving me any access to recovery. I can't even initiate fastboot.. WHAT DO I DO NOW? I really need your help with this..
AND by the way, I have a lot of experience in the matter of flashing and android development, but this is the first time I really don't know what to do to fix this issue!

dont panic if you have boot loop all you need to do is hard reset the phone this is dont by holding power button and vol+ till it vibrates 3 times this will switch the phone off and allow you fastboot to flash cwm recovery again and then you can recover your backup
Xperia P.... has a removable battery right, if I recall.
Remove battery, hold vol up, place battery. Phone should vibrate 3 times.
Keep finger on vol up, shove USB port in. You should get into fastboot.
If you're aiming to go back to stock, then just go into flashboot (vol down), and flash a stock ftf file.

have you tried hard reboot ?
keeping d power+ volume up +volume down button pressed until the fone vibrates thrice ?
if this happens that means ur phone can enter into fastboot by connecting the usb while holding the vol up button
and u can flash this kernel

What do you think CWM means?
And the way to get into it is repeatedly pressing the back-button, not the volume button.
I m new,but i read alot in this forum. Cwm is the clockworkmenu, of course. On my tablet it works fine, but on my smartphon i cant enter. I first tryt the back butto, but i cant acess the cwm. When exactly i have to press the back button? After starting the device i presst the button again and again, but i got no effect.

Flash the kernel again maybe.
Did you just get the words CWM based recovery, without any of the options underneath it?
It is a text-based menu, you need to navigate through it with the volume-buttons and select the items with the home-button. Use the back-button to get back to a previous menu.
Press the back-button repeatedly (about 3 times a second or so) as soon as the back-light comes on and keep doing that until CWM actually appears.
I flasht the kernel 3times, i also tryt an older version, same result. This evening i ll try again pressing the back button faster.
I read, that comming from an other custom kernel, you have to klear /system ... first. I come from the original Sony Rom, so it doesn t mether to me? The content of the sd card has no effect of the cernel!? I have not format it before.

Try a factory reset before you flash the kernel, don't know if you can get the original kernel back on? And no, the sd-card does not need to be formatted or anything like that, it does not stop the kernel from working.
First i reinstalled the original Sony ROM by Sony Update Service. Then i flash t again the 2.6.32.60-nAa Kernel, but no chance to get in to the CWM. Then i try t an other custom Kernel, and i get immediately access of the CWM. There i claret the System and the cache. Then i flash t again the 2.6.32.60-nAa Kernel and now i came in the CWM. From there i installed my brand new ROM and it looks very COOL

[Q] Boot in Recovery Mode (With Broken Volume Down)

Someone Help Me Please!! I'm Begging.

Is there any other way to Boot into Recovery Mode? I already tried using ADB Commands, it doesn't work for me. Though I tried ADB with other phone and worked.

My phone can't even get thru the Xperia Logo.

When I bricked my phone ADB was the first thing that comes to my mind since my volume down is broken. But ADB can't detect my device and whenever I plug it thru USB it just reboot the phone on the SONY logo. Nothing happens and not a single ADB Command works.
I hope someone can give me an alternative. Or is there something that I miss?

Well I m not sure about what I am advising
My friend can boot into recovery using home button for sure, maybe it depends on kernel (or the recovery version) too. So why not flash a different kernel (which includes recovery :: almost all custom kernels have that, not the stock one) using fastboot mode and then give it a try.
I also found the following command
fastboot reboot -bootloader
although it didn't worked on my xperia Ray (assuming bootloader here refers booting into recovery)
Try using Lupus V6 i am using it right now and i checked it. it can enter CWM with home button as well with volume up button. don't forget to thank dev(singh_dd93 & wedgess) if hi helped you.
edit: sorry man i partly miss lidded you. only home button takes you to CWM. volume up takes you to TWRP.

Dude just flash stock.ftf
Then root it
Flash custom ics kernel (included cwm in all kernel)
Then using xposed modules add advanced reboot menu
And then choose reboot to recovery
And i don't think we need volume buttons in whole process
