Hello guys I need some help and wiil organize the info as best as I can
Origin: started getting a msg saying "voltage to high, charging paused" when the phone wasnt even charging!! after a little drop of water in usb port. Phone would also turn on by itself.
Have done: bought 3 new USB ports buy none worked properly, they fixed the problem with the usb port but then I cant connect to tmobile service, phone does recognize the sim and when I do a network scan it does find at&t but not tmobile. Its like I loose a band.
Flashed a different firmware and baseband. Currently on XWLPT kernel and XXLQ6 baseban and still no luck.
As soon as I change to the old USB board I get instant service with tmobile :s
REPLACEMENT PARTS: USB boards two rev2.2 and one rev2.1
Please advice, I dont understand whats going on :s
THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP

Yeah, i guess it is but I hook it up in all of the board equally though. And still no luck with the new ones :s
There has been twice as much people on here saying that after changing board something doesnt work-than people saying it works ok.
People must be selling faulty stuff.

Yeah at first I thought that but then I bought 3 and all 3 gave me the same issue, so now I dont know what to think. :s
Only thing you could maybe try is change the usb only.Looks like its just 4 blobs of solder shaped in a square that holds it in.

Hey Handale30, did you ever get it fixed? If so, what worked for you?
I have the same issue but with a GT-N7000, I swapped out the USB charge port board. After the change, I get good signal and the it slowly dies and then it's back again.
My mobile got affected touch screen issue 2nd time, i went to service center they have said the problem come because of upgrading a beta version of ICS. Also said most of the "PRO, NEO, NEO-V" mobiles got affected because of upgrading ICS, Sony will release full version on coming January 2013. Is this true ???
How this touch screen issue come. What i shouldn't do !!!
What is the touch pad issue?maybe I too can check if I face any!
Who told you about Jan 13 update?
It's just a fw update right?
Sorry to bug you with so many questions

To the OP as well, the service center maybe just waiting for your warranty to expire. There's no way that mere service center employees would have information about a possible update 2 months in the future. 2 months is a very long time in terms of releasing a fix. And releasing a fix in 2013 for a 2011 device is hard to imagine.
So you'd best pursue them to change the display once again or else file a complaint in the Consumer Court . Expecting you to be with a defective phone for 2 months is not done either.

I got the same issue few months ago, with stock GB rom. I suspect that issue started after one time I use blackberry charger. During the charging time with blackberry charger touch screen was totally unusable. That was a little strange to me at that time as I used to use any charger around (motorola, samsung) and the worse was hardly use only, not as bad as blackberry charger.
I tried upgrading my phone to ICS but it didn't solved right away so I was thinking of buying a new phone. But then I found the issue has been resolved itself after about one month. Now it is two months from then and my touch screen is still perfect.
I've used BlackBerry charger and Samsung ones too....
Though I never faced any such issue!
It's either the Rom or finally it could be a hardware issue!

whatever "mttca" said is true. If you keep using none SONY charger, then your touch screen will gone.
If you want to break your touch screen then try it your own risk
Sony mobiles only getting affect by touch screen issue. anyway i am going to change my mobile soon.
Well,I don't use non Sony chargers daily
I use when I've no other option
But to keep my phone alive!

@OP
i had exactly same problem with my neo v in june 2012
i went to service center and they changed the screen within 10 days and gave me my phone back.
i still remember that this problem started when i inserted my friends memory card in phone.
its working fine since then
I've never tried others' memory card!
Now is it the charger or the memory card that causes issue!?

Hi there Folks....
My SGS3 Pebble Blue suddenly went dead. I leave my phone overnight with 17% battery charge, I dont remember well if the wifi was on, but in the morning it was completely dead, no button respond at all. Thinking that the battery has been emptied, i plug in the charger, but the phone doesnt respond, not even the LED nor the battery display that is charging. So, I leave it on the charger for a couple of hours, like 3 or 4 hours but still its dead.
My SGS3 is running at Omega ROM v34, everything is working fine before the incident, no lags, no system crashes. It is made in vietnam and I got it from a local network provider in Phillippines.
What can i possibly do to revive my SGS3? I could not send it to Samsung for warranty because, first it is running in custom firmware, next is warranty is completely void because i have already replaced my LCD Screen last month. I dropped my phone and the Screen was damaged so I ordered a screen replacement and I myself replaced the damaged screen.
Please help, I have no idea what happened....
Sounds like the S3 "Sudden Death" issue that was in the media some days ago (so the chance is high that it is a physical defect and you can't do much against it...).
Try a google "Galaxy S3 Sudden Death" search and you should get tons of informations about the issue. As far as i know Samsung Support repairs/replaces damaged devices without trouble.
Looks like they replace the mainboard on those damaged devices. Some people are saying that it might be some sort of planned obsolescence that kicks in to early.
That would also explain why Samsung is not talking about those issues at all and repairing/replacing damaged devices without further asking.

Read the Sudden Death Thread first .

Also post this in the s3 philippines thread. I been monitoring when this thing will start manifesting on our shores. You're the first one from philippines that reported this problem here or that I have read.

Unfortunately my S3 died on me as well on the eve of new year!
I'm waiting for the holidays to be over so I can send it to the Samsung service center.
Hopefully, they will cover the repairs with the warranty and they will not notice that my phone is rooted and running on custom software..

Yup... I experience that too....its the motherboard issue... My phone is rooted.. Sent to samsung service centre... They replaced it.. No question asked..

Does it mean that my mobo died even if I can still boot in download mode?
Thank you!

Yes... To double check... Go to download mode and see whether brand name ''i9300''is there... If no, pit partition messed up... Confirm motherboard dead..

Have sent in the unit yesterday to the service center. They have checked the download mode and asked me if I did some rooting and I said no.
From the download mode they cannot see the product name but there is no custom binary download numbers too so they said it is covered by warranty and just this morning, I called them up to follow up and they said they already ordered a new motherboard. I asked again if there are no problems with regards to the warranty and they have confirmed that it is indeed covered. Hopefully, in a week I'll get the repaired unit

So have you gotten your phone back yet? Which service center did you bring your unit to?
Hello Xda I've soft bricked my S3 I can access download mode.
I got into this problem cause I flashed Supernexus it worked fine for a few days. Until I went into bootloop and couldn't do anything I couldn't access recovery so I just flashed the stock rom and now the phone only boots into download mode and can be viewed by odin also it says on the phone please connect to kies in recovery. I done this put the phone doesn't get recognised any ideas and help will be appreciated

if you can't access recovery after reflashing a stock ROM, send it to service
and ask for help in the help section, not here
They won't help because its rooted and stuff also i have a slight crack so sending it into service will cost me like 200$ to repair
What build are you using? Looks like I'm moving away from that ROM 0.o

yeah, the other option is to throw the phone away. your call.
or you can also be doing something wrong.
or you can hope for me to be wrong.
i've been searching around an they calling this the ''sudden death syndrome'' and can happen at any time to a select few all you have to do is send it into service and get it repaired for free but i can't because i've got a slight hairline crack so my warranty is void and they are asking for around £150 for repairing this phone
You have a software problem not hardware. The crack has nothing to do with that. I had a crack on my S1 but sent it to service for new USB port - no problems.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I've rang them again after you said this and said sorry we can't do anything until u repair the screen by us or yourself. Also they said we can't guarantee that the problem I got was not from my crack so they said no to repairing for free they asking for 135£ to repair the crack
Then they'll replace the motherboard for free

I'm having really bad battery problems with my girlfriends phone.
We were running pa jelly bean and we bought a new battery to try fix the problem as its quite an old phone.
Still had the same problem so tried pa kit kat. That didn't fix it either.
Basically the phone will charge to 100% then go down normally to about 40 or 60% then it will totally die and when you put it back on charge it will he at zero again. So she's really not getting a use out of the phone at all. Am I going to need to flash stock again? Anyone had this problem before?
Thanks
Steven

Flashed stock jb uk. Took all day to download too as samfirmware seem to have changed their servers. And same problem.
It was at about 60% then it froze and I had to take the battery out and put it on charge to get it back on again. And it was 0%!
Could it be a bad charger port or something? Means I would need to take the phone apart to see which revision it is won't I?
Thanks

Take it to a repair shop

Never been wetted by water?
Really looks like hw problem.
It hasn't been wetted. I heard of an issue with i9100's that its appears to be on charge constantly even when unplugged the charger icon stays in the corner. I've had this issue recently but it went away. The people that had this issue replaced the charger port board and this fixed it. Can anyone vouch for this?

Given what you've already tried (new battery/etc) & given how quick/easy/cheap (~US$15) it is to replace the USB board/port, I'd be doing that if I were in your situation. KeithRoss39 has a guide in the General section which has all the info you need to get it done.

Cheers mistah. I've already replaced the LCD screen on it so should I had the thing in pieces already. Only pain is I have to check the rev number on the board before I order it I think so it matches. Means I'll need to take the phone apart right down the number put it back together until the board comes then do it all again lol

No worries Yep, as long as you match the revision, you should be good.
