juopunutbear -ok, now i have method, but i am too dumb to do this...

If you have one of the CID's listed here then you can use flashamaniac's tool to downgrade your hboot. I had the same hboot as you and it is really not difficult at all. download the unbranded tool.

after this just go to revolutionary.io and s-off

revolutionary only supports 1.49.0007 and 1.49.0008. that tool helps you downgrade to 1.49.0007 then you can s-off with revolutionary. but be sure to check if your CID is in the list. use cid getter from market to check CID

Yes I checked and he is on list, but freaking uploaded.net limits make me cry.

Flashamaniac's method didn't work... It just stuck in step 3 and I have "***RELOCKED***" now....
****, I tried again and it stucked now on "fingers crossed"...
IT IS MOVING !!

Honestly the wire trick is way easier than it sounds. I can't post links yet but Google "evo 3d wire trick" and go to the first link (htcevohacks.com) and watch the video. I think it will seem easier after you watch it. Good luck on s-off!

Flashamaniac's, but I had to wait 2h for limits off and 1 h downloading... It is very easy method... Now I have to back to warranty status, becouse my touch panel won't work...

Another problem:
My phone is unlocked now but I still can't install revocery...
sending 'revocery' (6146 KB)..
OKAY [ 1.305s]
writing 'revocery'...
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAILED (remote: signature verify fail>
finished. total time: 3.027s
Ok, another recovery works..

That's caused by the fatsboot or by the juopunutbear S-OFF?
The H-BOOT 18 has any bugs fixes compared to 7, or it's only security?

If you're rooted and s-off then you really don't need to worry about it. It won't affect your phone.

There is no difference between 1.12.1111 and 1.12.2222. Check my sig for a link to the RegawMOD Bootloader Customizer. That's what changes the number.

1.12.1111 has NO fastboot and 1.12.2222 HAS fastboot enabled. if your s-off i would recommend upgrading to 1.12.2222 or you cant use fastboot commands.

HELP! can't boot up with Cyanogen 10 after installation

I was finally sick and tired of HTC sense and decided to root and install Cyanogen Mod 10 on my Evo 4G LTE (first edition, got it the day it came out).
I ran through the RegawMOD EVO 4G LTE Rooter, which worked fine except for the last stage where it asks you to choose some rooter.zip file, I couldn't find the file anywhere so I didn't do it. But it was working ok, I moved super wipe and one of the nightly builds over to my SD card and tried to install it, the installation goes through fine but then when I reboot it doesn't actually boot to CM10, just stays stuck on a black screen.
I flashed the newest version of TWRP, and it didn't help.. Not sure what else I could try. I REALLY don't want to go back to the stock ROM. Can anybody think of anything I could try?
THANK YOU!

Ok you're S-ON with hboot 1.15. The devs are currently working on a "noob" friendly method to downgrade hboot and achieve S-OFF. In the mean time here's a link to a guide to flash kernals with hboot 1.15.

Interesting, where do I find this boot.img file? is it inside the ZIP files of the nightly builds? It's ok if my phone is S-on when I do this?
Yay!
Sweet! I flashed it from command prompt like you said and it's working now! hurrah! I'm Jelly Beaned!!!
While it's great and all that you helped him out, letting thread starters make threads like this and then actually answering their question only reinforces the idea that it's perfectly okay to post here with questions and issues.
I've gotten bored being blunt about it, now it's just sad.
Please report out of place posts so they can be moved.

Get S-off and you can do whatever you want - that's the whole point.
There are several different methods on XDA that will tell you how - just search for them.

How would someone do either with a soft-brick?
I have a the same situation now with a soft bricked stock, never unlocked, never rooted, OTA 3.16.651.3... Without a 3.16.651.3 jewel RUU which is nowhere to be found, I can't figure out a way to flash this thing. Nothing but fastboot is functional on the phone in it's current state. Every approach I have tried ends in some broken dependency or version/signature hurdle.

I'm in a similar situation with a phone I'm trying to fix for someone. Phone is on the latest OTA, unlocked & S-on. Phone will not boot to the OS. Removed the SD card and I've pushed TWRP recovery to the phone via fastboot, but upon trying to enter recovery the phone reboots to the HTC splash screen, and cycles in an endless loop until I get into the bootloader. Also tried a factory reset, which causes the phone to reboot to the splash screen. No way to S-off at this point:banghead:
