[Q] Screen turns back on after turning it off?

I'm running ComRom 2.0 with OTB 1.5. When I turn my screen off sometimes the screen immediately turns back on. I have tried closing all apps but it still happens eventually. Does anyone else have this issue?
Yes I have had the same problem on all the com roms. It used to bother me but now I'm used to it

Try changing to aosp lockscreen in tsm parts and then go back to what lockscreen you were using.

[Q] Random Screens Ons

For some reason my Atrix (running ICS CM7 PreFinal) has random screen on's.
For example, I can be using it, switch the screen off in the normal method, then as soon as I lay it horizontally on the desk it switches back on.
Anyone had this before? Or know how to fix it? I assume it is because of the proximity sensor getting confused?
Have you tried using a another ROM to make it isn't a hardware issue?

I am having the same issue on CM7 12112011 Nightly. I have random display wake ups and in addition I often have the screen turn immediately back on after turning it off.
I hate to say it but it sounds like a hardware issue. To double make sure it is, try a blur ROM. That's what the phone is used to running.

Maybe is some app that activate the screen when you change from vertical to horizontal check your configs and apps, also try another ROM without any app to see if it happens, i think another ROM may fix that.. idk, but i hope it helps ^^

Are you by any chance using Juice Defender?? I think that may be the cause of my issues (posted above). I have been using the same settings in Juice Defender with numerous ROMS, even previous CM7 nightly's and stable CM7 without encountering this before. I disabled the time out feature in Juice Defender and the problem seems to be fixed.

This is exactly the issue I have. I'm not convinced its hardware as the original blur rom didn't do this.

And to update, no I am not using Juice Defender. It is a defacto CM7 ICS build.

Come on, no one knows how to make the phone works as the screen were on but in reality it's off?

Pleaaase someone shoud know that

Apps can do that already. If an app isn't working when screen is off there is no way to make it do so. This is probably why no one has posted a solution because there is none.
If you post details of what you want your phone to do while screen is off maybe there are alternative apps people can suggest to do those things.

I have a browser that is like the firefox add-on, reloadevery, every minute it's refresh the page, I'm using it almost as a bot to watch the same 1 minute video again and again, it works well but, when the screen is off, it stops

If the screen is off you can't watch the video and so it will stop, that's normal. I'm not sure there is a way around it other than save the video and watch it in a media player.

Yeah, I'll do that, with brightness on 0% and screen filter, I was worried about the screen life, but not this much

Re calibration not working

Ok so I've tried recalibrating the touch screen several times both ways in other words inside Android and inside recovery. It seems to only partially work. Screen was fine now its not. Archos 101 internet tab gen 8

Just to add this device is not rooted or anything. Any idea if rooting and a different room could fix this issue?

FIXED
Well atleast for now it fixed I rooted it flash new rom and kernal and installed the lcd calibrator.apk so it does it on boot up. So far so good!
Ok bad news when I put screen to sleep then wake it up calibration is hosed until I reboot otherwise fine any thoughts from anyone? Just wanted to add screen can sleep for 15 seconds out less and it is fine any longer it looses calibration. Anyone know of a way to kill back log but not the screen???

screen stays on

Ok I have an issue that seems intermittent but is annoying and drains the battery. Sometimes after receiving a text the screen will stay on and not dim down, this would not be such an issue if the text was read straight away, but if I have not heard it or been busy this becomes an issue. The only way to then get the screen to work properly, is to reboot the phone. Anyone else had this issue, if so have you found a fix. The handset is a 3uk branded handset.
you have smart stay on?

Maybe it is a rom problem??

If u enabled smart stay and your ceiling lighting is directed to your phone, it will stay awake. Its not a bug just that smart stay "thinks" that you are watching it

Nope smart stay is off it was on but knocked it off a week or so ago, and now this issue has started. The phone is not rooted
What's your screen timeout set as?
Like, if you're reading a web page how long would the screen stay on if you didn't touch it?
Settings - display - screen timeout
Why don't you clear cache for messages app and badgeprovider app from application manager. Maybe they're stuck in some way.

Both caches were clear
Do you have Samsung's DriveLink app installed? There was a problem with that that caused the screen to stay on.
