Hi Friends,
I am new to rezound community, I just bought a used Rezound. My primary phone till now is myTouch 4G Slide rooted, unlocked running custom roms.
Three things i find amazing with Rezound is its Screen, beats audio which works also with my Klipsch on stock music player & the community support it gets (So many roms and mods) :good:
Am still a noob for rezound and trying to learn things as fast as i can so please help me if you are aware about any of the problems and its solutions.
I am having some issues with the phone.
First info about my Phone:
I am currently Fully stock, unrooted, locked bootloader.
VIGOR PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.27.0000
RADIO-2.22.10.0801r/2.22.10.0803r

Software No: 4.03.605.2 710RD
kernel version: 3.0.16-g480e1b0
Android : 4.0.3
Sense: 3.6
When i got the phone it was on HTC screen bootloop, with stock HBOOT-2.10.0000 & RADIO-0.95.00.1017_2r/0.95.00.1013r & locked bootloader.
I updated the phone with RUU 4.03.605.2 using PH98IMG.zip from android police.
I will always use it in GSM network only and preferably Stock rom (With root) for next couple of weeks. Phone will be used in India on 900mhz & 1800mhz bands & 2100mhz for UMTS & 3g.
Here are the issues i am facing:-
1) Even after i select GSM mode or Global Mode it doesn't register on network automatically. I have to manually press "Select Network Automatically" & reboot every-time for it to register network. Sometimes it registers on network only in GSM mode and sometimes only on Global mode. Solutions?
2) Data (3g) Sometimes works sometimes doesnt work. Normally in all phones APN settings of the network provider are added and selected by default when the sim is inserted. But here i have to manually save APN settings everytime. Why doesn't it take automatically from sim or network?
3) Stock Wifi Hotspot doesn't work, Error says "You need a verizon sim for this service". Any way to make the stock wifi hotspot functionality to work without verizon simcard or any third party apps?
4) There is an annoying always on lockscreen notification saying "This Sim card is from an unknown source". Any way to remove it ?
5) The phone sometimes lags a lot or doesnt respond or just turn of abruptly even when no apps are running in background. Only fix is the battery pull reset. Any better solution ? Will removing Verizon crapware improve anything ?
6) Yest nite before going to bed i switched off the phone. In the morning when i tried to turn it on, it wouldn't turn on. So i thought may be i would have forgotten to turn it off & plugged in the charger to see if the battery was empty, the phone wudn't charge nor the charging notification light turned on. So i again did a battery pull reset and the phone turned on, with 80% battery remaining. It started with the phone setup screen. I just don't know what happened, any ideas or solutions ?
7) I am unable to make or receive calls in global mode, It gives an error "The process com.android.phone has stopped", loses network & reboots with just 1-2 network bars after reboot. USSD code from dialer runs without issues. (BTW i can receive & make calls in GSM/UMTS mode) Its confusing that it doesnt work in global mode but works in GSM/UMTS mode.
If there are other known issues in gsm /global mode in stock rom which i am unaware of please suggest solutions for that as well.
Hope I didn't repeat questions for any problems already solved, If so please point me to the right thread of the solutions.
Thanks a lot guys.
You can try to root and install custom rom or stock rom and see if it fixes it..

1) Did you try the *#*#4636#*#* menu to change modes? Also, a reboot is commonly required when changing these settings, Global Mode enables all radios (LTE/CDMA/GSM/HSPA) with a Verizon SIM, GSM only enables GSM & HSPA on any SIM, GSM is probably the one you need.
2) The Rezound requires you to manually input APN information, sorry, just the way it is. Also, the 3G (HSPA/UMTS) radios in the Rezound are fairly weak, even standing right next to a tower you sometimes will not get 3G, but Edge is very reliable.
3) That is Verizon locked service, you would have to root and use a 3rd party tool, or a custom ROM.
4) Not in a stock ROM, the stock ROM is intended for Verizon users only so any other SIM will show that, an custom ROM can correct this.
5a) This is unusual actually, the stock ROM is fairly stable, although the underlying VZW services not being able to connect could cause issues.
5b) Not likely, you could remove the apps, but the underlying services will still be there. A custom ROM may be able to correct this.
6) Try disabling "Fastboot" in the Security settings menu. This is not adb fastboot, it is an HTC mode where shutting down/rebooting only does a partial shutdown to improve boot times. You will know you found the right option when you see something like "Enabling this option may interfere with the use of some market applications" and it is enabled by default.
7) Again, this is a Verizon phone... to Verizon a "Global Mode" phone will have it's SIM and roam onto it's partners networks, therefore it really kind of needs a Verizon SIM to work properly in Global mode. You want the phone in GSM mode, not Global mode.
Some final thoughts... You may want to consider an unlocking the bootloader, installing custom recovery, and an 3rd party GSM capable ROM, there are several possibilities in the various development areas here, this will probably correct several of the issues you are having. Most ROMs over the last year or so have some support for GSM, just read the threads on the ROMs for more information.
To be honest, the Rezound is not a great GSM phone by any means... but depending on your needs it might work with some modifications.

I did a search, but wasn't able to find any relevant threads. So if I missed something, please point me in the right direction.
My problem is that earlier this morning, my data ceased working. The notification bar shows 3G (sometimes even 4G), but I cannot get anything to load or refresh. The data arrows are indicating that while data can go "up", it isn't coming "down". I'm not sure what happened, as I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary when this happened. I've got a decent signal in terms of bars as well, at least 2 or 3. Even given that, the data connection does appear to drop and then come back a few seconds later, but the behavior is the same: no internet.
I am S-OFF, global radios I believe, and when this first happened I was running the "le n00b" CM9 kang (which I've been running since yesterday morning with only intermittent data drops and no other problems). After a while of no data, resetting the radios via airplane mode toggle, a reboot, full shut down and restart, I restored a nandroid of the sense-based Vigor360 ROM, which had never had any data issues, but the same behavior is happening. Notification bar shows a decent signal, 3G/4G, but no data. After that, I powered down and pulled the battery, sdcard & sim card, left them out for a minute, put it all back together, powered back up, but still no data.
tl;dr: notification bar shows 3G/4G and decent signal, but I'm getting absolutely no data.
I've confirmed with a co-worker who's also on Verizon that their data is working, so it doesn't seem to be tower/network related. Anyone seen anything like this before? If so, what's the prognosis?
UPDATE: I was in Vigor360 with no data, and kept digging around XDA's wonderful search function, and found someone with a similar issue (though nothing about 3G/4G being in the notification bar) and they updated their PRL via *228. I did that, data seemed to come back. So I took a chance and restored my "le n00b" CM9 nandroid, and so far I've got data! Editing this post using that connection right now! I'll update further if I drop data again or discover any new relevant info.
the *228 wont do anything for us now that we have 4g and the sim card updates the prl when there is a new one. that was the old way to force a prl on 3g only so i think that was only a coincidence that data came back.
you might have a bad sim card. what you can do to test is put it in wifi mode and surf the web. if that works then its not the radio.
thing you can try to do:
remove the sim card and boot the phone. wait for it to fully boot and it say there is no sim detected. turn of the phone and put your card back in. then boot into recovery and wipe dalvik cache and boot the phone like normal.

Perhaps, but that was the line of demarcation between data not working to it working. Plus, the data speed seemed even faster than normal for the respective signal strength. Either way, I'm just happy it's working.

Thanks - I'll keep this in mind if it happens again. I was able to use the internet normally on wifi.
check your APN
You probably know -
You can always RUU back to stock to have a working phone
I updated to the latest nightly (9/22) to try and relieve this problem to no avail. I've been running CM Nightlies on my P4 since they've been available. I always manually download them since, for whatever reason, Rom Manager seems to detect my device as the P4-wifi. I assure you the 3G (HSPA) modem works. I have a SIM slot, with SIM that has activated service (UMTS/HSPA). My cell phone is on the same networks and it picks up signal from my carrier fine.
With that out of the way; My issue:
Two days ago, I was leaving my house to visit family, and I wasn't going to bring my charger for my Tab, so I put the device in airplane mode to conserve battery. In hindsight, I should have just asked the device to power off, but that's besides the point. When I tried turning off Airplane mode, the cellular network did not become available again; this situation has not changed since.
What I've done: Rebooted the device after switching out of airplane mode, re-entered airplane mode and left it again, updated to the latest CM. I've opened my tab and reseated the connections for SIM and antenna (at least, the connections I can reseat, I have), I've also completely disconnected power by unplugging the battery and reconnecting it. Additionally, I got into some of the hidden menus and verified that WCDMA, which, I believe is the underlying tech for the local HSPA connection, is preferred to the cell radio.
Looking at the device, if I ask it to check for mobile networks, the list comes back blank. The network status shows "UNKNOWN:0" and the lockscreen shows "NO SERVICE." instead of "NO SIM" (which is what it shows when I remove the SIM). From what I can tell the radio has shut off and will not come back on.
Throughout all this Wifi still works perfectly, so the device isn't useless, however, I'm planning to sell this device and I would like it to be as fully functional as possible when I hand it off to it's next owner, so getting this solved is very important to me. Any and all suggestions are appreciated and I'm basically willing to try anything at this point. I feel as though I've tried everything short of a factory reset, which I'm not sure if that would help (I've even wiped cache and dalvik).
In case it's relevant, I'm in Canada, carrier is Telus.
Thanks for reading.
EDIT: I've just finished restoring the device to Stock 4.0.4 (I've used this stock image before when I had issues with the device and confirmed it is fully functional) and I am still having trouble. this points to either a carrier issue or a hardware issue. I will be calling the carrier in the morning, despite believing that this isn't the case. any suggestions on what could be the problem are still welcome, I'm willing to try just about anything at this point.
@Mystik
Back in the CM 4.1.2 days on the e4gt...we had a similiar problem. Now, I don't have you're device. But when this problem arose in the epic. We had a work around where we would turn airplane mode on and power off the device. Then power the device back up. When that didn't work we had to flash a modem, then flash back to the one we wanted.
Also, make sure after you turn off airplane mode.. that the mobile data under settings/more is enabled... sometimes it will not re-enable itself.
Let me know if this works.. if not I would be happy to help you search up a fix..
Hello
Background:
I bought Moto E on Italian Amazon (stock ROM was retail FR). Because of loudspeaker failure I was forced to send it to the service. I done that in Germany. I never unlock bootloader or install any custom ROM on this phone. Pure stock.
Present:
I got my phone from service, speaker is working again. Unfortunatelly radio is not working any more. Phone is not able even to discover any SIM card (on both slots).
Version installed in service: 21.20.40.condor_retde.retdeall.en.DE retde
What should I do?
Do you think, that this is hardware problem, or just faulty radio driver?
Should I send it back to the service?
Go back to the service center and yell at them!
1st step
Another visit in service is another week with old phone. Because I am travelling a lot recently, I can not afford that at this time. This is my last possibility, I hope I can solve this by myself.
Yesterday I had some time and I discover that, when phone is connected to PC it is recognized as XT1021 (1-sim version). Because of that I flashed using fastboot the stock Kitkat for XT1022. After that, my phone can recognize that I have inside two SIM cards (phone ask for PIN number), but it is not able to turn them on. I see always that the airplane mode is ON, but there is no icon of airplane next to the clock (navigation bar, icons of signal are empty). When I turn the airplane mode on, I see that icons of carrier signal are replaced with icon of airplane. When I turn the airplane mode OFF, I have again signal icons, but they are empty (no signal) and in power menu is written that I am still in airplane mode. So I can not made any call, because radios are turned off.
I think I have faulty drivers of radio/modem. Did anyone except something like this?
Hey guys. So I've been trying to figure this out for several weeks with no luck and I was hoping you could help me. I have a Verizon LG G3 on AT&T on 10b. I can connect to 4G LTE and Edge just fine. However, when I try to make a call or receive a call on LTE, the network vanishes instantly. I'm talking from 3-5 bars to no service in within 5 seconds of calling my phone or calling from it. I've tried flashing different modems and the problem still persists. I already tried flashing the stock (what I'm on now), factory resetting, clearing the cache, etc. and have not been able to fix it. Today I called AT&T tech support and after they re-registered my phone I was able to make one phone call before the problem reappeared. When I made the call, my LTE dropped but I stayed connected through 2G/3G/Edge not sure which one.
The only other time I've had it working properly is when I had Cyanogenmod installed. However, that led to another issue. With Cyanogenmod, my phone would crash within a few minutes of booting. Most of the time I couldn't even make it through the setup. To be more specific about the crash, my screen would freeze and become unresponsive for a dew seconds and would then turn off completely. The green LED would turn on and stay on. Every time this happened I would have to pull my battery. The only way to prevent the freezing was to turn on airplane mode. If I turned off data or had the phone SIM-less it would still freeze airplane mode was the only solution.
If anyone can help me with either of these issues I would be greatly appreciative. If you need any more information or want me to post logs just let me know and I'll happily do so.
Here's a quick recap incase you don't want to read through the walls of text.
VS985 10b on AT&T
EDGE works fine
On 4G LTE network disconnects when making or recieving call
Cyanogenmod fixes network issues but freezes when not in airplane mode

I think you are talking about making calls on Voice over LTE. I am not surprised Verizon rom does not quite support it. Maybe you can try this swap boot.img hack to install AT&T rom and see if it solves your problem?

Thanks for replying. That's my main theory too. However, according to my research, the VS985 didn't get VoLTE until the 12b update. I'll definitely try an AT&T ROM when I get the chance at the very least I'll probably learn something from it. Any chance there's an option to make LTE data only on this phone?
Hello,
I bought the P9000 US Edition recently, which runs the Elephone_P9000_M_20161107 ROM. After getting it, I didn't even start it up but immediately updated to the latest LinageOS with Android 6, but the SIM card wasn't detected then.
I flashed the latest official ROM 20170110, not realizing this isn't meant for the US Edition before seeing that the IMEI number was wiped, causing the SIM card not being recognized. Thankfully, I have a full backup of the original state at hand, so I could restore nvram easily and the mobile connection started working.
However, after that was solved, I encountered problems with the mobile connection:
Searching networks sometimes takes a long time, resulting in no connection at all in the meantime.
When I'm connected to 3G networks, it shows that it has a data connection (small 3G logo on the signal indicator), but I can neither make or receive calls, send SMS or use the data connection as long as it doesn't switch to 2G or 4G
The data connection problem sometime manifests with 2G and 4G, too: the small logo shows but no data comes through.
"Phone idle" is by far the largest battery consumer in the battery stats (not even the screen outweighs it at any time)
I just found out by trying that enabling and disabling airplane mode sometimes solves the problem, maybe because it results in a reset of the modem. I contacted Elephone support and they said that I had to reflash the original stock ROM for the US edition and if this didn't help, I had to send it in for repair, because flashing a wrong ROM corrupted the modem data.
After that didn't work, I even reflashed my backup, selecting each and every partition (except for the last two partition, flashinfo and sgpt[/] or something like that, for which I didn't take a backup). This seemed to alleviate the problem a bit, but not completely.
TL;DR: When the phone has a 3G connection, neither calls, SMS nor data work. Sometimes this also happens in 2G or 4G. Support says I corrupted modem data when flashing a non-US version ROM. I restored a full backup of the original state but it didn't change much.
Any suggestions on how I could solve the problem?
Are you in the USA?
I'm in Canada and using the EU version of the phone.
A solution I have found is to change the bands. This can be done by:
1) Press on the dial pad *#*#4636#*#* this will enable engineering settings.
2) In the top right press the '3 dots'
3) Press 'phone information'
4) Press 'select radio band'
5) Then choose a band based on your location or play with them see which works best exit and try that.
6) Redo the steps to change again should you need to. I typically play around with the bands to find the one that works best.
7) If this doesn't work maybe check your network APN settings? Mine are automatically filled for Bell and Rogers in Canada. When I travel in the EU it generally auto-fills as well using the network 3.
An error that occurs when I attempt to enter the 'select radio band' under 'phone information' is the error code "com.android.phone has stopped" with the toggle for 'Open App Again'. A solution I found to that problem is to soft reset the phone.
Another error I frequently encounter is "Process com.android.phone isn't responding"
Not really practical given the average user wants a device that "just works".
