My S3 Stuck In Bootloop - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys can anyone help me, yesterday nite i installed AnunoV5 rom, Couple of minutes it was run finely i went to put in charger..After fully charged, i keep a side the phone and went sleep..After 3 hours when i saw the phone is bootloop keep on rebooting & so hot. After that when im trying to go cwm , its still rebooting.after a while already fully format the phone still keep on rebooting ( I think the motherboard or processor spoiled) cant work even via odin. I wanna sent to claim but how i can erase the chainfire recovery so it can be look as factory release. Thanks

If it was your motherboard or processor your phone wouldn't even turn on let alone boot loop. And you say you can't flash with Odin?? Why not? What error message are you getting??

[Q] Help! Atrix 4g Shuts Off Randomly :(

Hey Guys..
I recently received a refurbished Atrix 4g as a warranty exchange and everything was working fine for a while. Then I decided to unlock the BL and try a few of the ROMs out there. No issues with the flashing part, but now I get random shut downs maybe 10-15 times a day. I have tried multiple thing without success so far so if you have any idea what could help please let me know how to do it.. How can I adjust the CPU/voltage settings on the phone (might work..?)
The phone does not shut down/restart while I am charging or it is in use. Seems to be only in sleep/idle mode
Types of shut downs:
1. Phone shuts off and I have to pull the battery so that it will turn on (green light blinks every few seconds while it is off even without notifications).
2. Phone shuts off and I can get it to turn on by pressing the power button (same light situation as above).
3. Phone shuts off but immediately turns back on and boots up fine.
4. Phone shuts off but immediately turns back on but rather than booting up shows the red text error "Unreachable bootloader error 0x00000004" (green light lit dimly). Will restart fine once I pull battery and reboot.
What I have tried so far:
1. Flashing different ROMs with different kernels.
2. Replaced battery.
3. Read a million posts on issues somewhat similar.
Thanks for any help!
I have the same thing it's because you unlocked the boot loader I no this because if I relock it it never sod
I would use fast boot to wipe data wipe cache and dalvic and then properly flash a good working rom like cm7 or nottach trix something like that also you could wipe every thing and flash current sbf /root into it then flash rom
if the second option still messes up its a hardware issue

Hey, thanks for the suggestions.
I have tried or am currently using those ROMs .. Is there a safe way to flash the current sbf if i started off at 2.3.6 4.5.141?
My atrix did the same thing when I first flashed the neutrino rom but it was only because I wasn't using rom racers recovery. Try flashing that and then wipe everything and flash neutrino again. I'm not sure if that's your problem but flashing the latest recovery fixed mine.

What is the cause if you have random reboots with a fully stock Atrix? My wife has an Atrix that I'm not allowed to touch (meaning root it or unlock bootloader, etc). She has had it a few months and this past week while she has been using it, it just reboots. I have never experienced this on any of my phones. Any thoughts? I would be grateful for the insight so i don't have to do a warranty exchange.

Iglf that didn't work you should return it. Mine would just reboot and not show some error. Maybe you got aa water damaged phone? Its possible for water to just hit a price of metal to cause a phone to go bonkers

I'm guessing he means the fix that makes the "unlocked" message stop appearing, lots of people were doing it to return for warranty issues when the Atrix was newer. It doesn't actually relock it, it just stops showing unlocked at boot.
I have a completely stock atrix and do to touchscreen issues(wouldnt respond halfway throuh any function) i did a factory reset via settings menu. Cleared up my touchscreen issues so far but now my phone reboots 5-10 times an hour unless charging or during call...

Both a co-worker and myself have been experiencing random reboots for the last week. Both of ours are 2.3.6/4.5.141. Only difference between ours is mine is rooted, his not.
I wiped my Dalvik cache last night, and so far only rebooted once in the last 24 hours (Before it was almost 5 times a day). I did same wipe on his phone, and will see if that fixes problem.
It's just weird that everyone with an Atrix is experiencing this reboots.
I have the sme problem of my phone.. but random reboots appears when internal temp reaches over 38 degrees. I want to take it back to warranty but WTF am I gonna do with a new atrix that I can't touch??
So.. somewhere I read that an app called load monitor can help with this problem.. so I did.. Downloaded from market.. my cell phone has been working pretty good so far.. I created a profile on SetCPU and undervolted it 25 Mhz..
I haven't flash a sfb file just because I dont want to hard brick my phone..
If anyone wants to try what I said please let me know if that worked for you guys..
Regards..!!
I've had this twice in the past twelve hours. It happened once when I had it plugged into my computer in mass storage mode and another time when it was just sitting idle. I've always had load monitor installed on my phone. It tells me something is using a ton of resources, but I can't tell what. Task manager doesn't yield any answers either.
I was just going to send mine in, but I forgot about the new bootloader lock. F***.
I'm running the latest Nottachtrix (flashed via romracers) and the Faux123 1.45ghz kernel.
I know it's not water damage, as suggested earlier. It just started last night and my phone wasn't near water.
This issue seems to be all over the board. Some have some don't. Its very frustrating. I cant even u a case on my atrix. Anytime I use the phone more than 30 mins at a time I get either get the blue sleep or a reboot. And have to pull the battery. Have a spare unrooted atrix I'm gonna switch to til this issue can be resolved.

try using a different kernel with your roms
Reboots
I used to have the same problem, constant reboots all day long. I seem to have cured it installing 1.4.2 telstra, (im on a Bell), and then unlocked and rooted, then flashed 4.5.133 and hit it with faux's 1.45 ghz kernel, works like a charm now. This info might help..
Is is this issue with the WiFi?
I have heard that there is a problem with the Broadcom WiFi module that is inside the phone, when it dies it causes the phone to randomly reboot.
There is an ICS ROM that does not include support for this chip so it may fix the problem (provided you don't ever need WiFi or Bluetooth)

Tried unlocking s2 with galaxys_unlock and bricked :(

Hi, I am new to Samsung I previously had HTC's but I got a Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 and tried unlocking it with galaxys_unlock tool from Android market and it worked, unlocked the phone I tried a new sim card but then it started crashing very shortly after unlocking and now it is just stuck on Samsung Galaxy SII GT-I9100 boot screen and keeps rebooting from there. I tried reflashing stock firmware on it and still same result. Is there any way to rescue it. I have tried all the bootloop threads but they all seem to be related to kernel problems and software problems I tried all the fixes but they don't work. Is my phone hardbricked or something? I can get into download mode and am able to flash new roms with odin but can not get into recovery mode at all. When i press the buttons to get into recovery mode the device just shuts down and reboots. Please say I can fix it. Thanks guys.
You shouldnt need to reflash.. being stuck there is sometimes normal as it normaly means you didnt wipe any cache or do a factory reset so it gets stuck at boot...
Flash the phone with the ROM you wanted.. & then root if you wish...when it boots & gets stuck... do this...
remove battery, wait 30 seconds or so & pop it back in...
Boot to recovery & wipe cache, then factory reset.. then advanced & wipe dalvik cache
reboot phone...skip all the startup **** & go into phone & do a factory reset from there once rebooted your phone will be up & running..... I hope...
also this will wipe everything as if a clean install....

You may not have recovery, if u flash a stick ROM/kernel that doesn't have CWM then of course your not gonna be able to enter it

Stock kernels have stock recovery

I think you missed the question mark. Stock kernels most certainly do have recovery.
Anyway, I stand by my statement, you're probably not doing the correct procedure to enter recovery.

I know how to get into recovery, hold down volume up, home and power for 10 seconds. It is like the unlock tool has bricked my partitions or something. Now my battery has died and will not even charge, Download mode says "Can't download, battery too low" and shows no signs of life when plugged into a charger.
I changed the charger and now it looks like it is charging but the charging animation that shows when the phone is off and charging doesn't do anything, it just has a battery symbol with a static circle in the middle, not sure if it is actually charging or not but still doesn't fix the fact i can't get into recovery or even boot a stock rom flashed by odin.
Could the unlock tool have bricked my phone or could it have wiped the IMEI? Would a blank IMEI stop the phone from booting?
Thanks for your help guys. Really need my S2 working again and hoping it is not a return to samsung jobby as I have not got a USB Jig to reset the flash counter.
Did you backup your efs folder before running the unlock tool?

yes I am going to leave it on charge for a few hours but when it was working it wouldn't boot at all, there is no way a missing imei or corrupted nvdata.bin / efs could stop the phone from booting then?
OK it has been on charge for an hour and a half and all it has done is get hot, I cant access download mode any more as it says "LOW BATTERY!! CAN'T DOWNLOAD!!" So I am stuck, dont know what to do now. If i send it back to samsung do they ask for proof of purchase or is the fact I have the box and everything proof enough? Just asking as I had that with HTC ages ago.

My wifes going to send her phone back to Samsung soon and they asked for proof of purchase.
Were ok there, but I suppose other people may not have that.It looks like they are trying to get out of fixing their phones.
All they should be doing is checking the phones not lost/stolen then get on with the repair ........tossers

May I ask what is your S2 version? Are you sure it is an International version?
I would suggest to re-download a different ROM and flash it using ODIN 1.85.
About the warranty, I think the receipt is really needed to avail this. Unless you're willing to spend some cash for the repair.

Problem with X10... need opinions

Hi guys, I have totally weird problem and I need opinion about it.
I was on TUG (GB) ROM from past month or so and phone been fine with long battery life..
Problem Started on Friday and my phone shut down.. restarted twice and then it stopped booting...
I came back home n tried charging first but phone won't charge, in any case I left the phone plugged in for few hrs and tried turning it on but no bakon...
So I tried flashing kernel and rom again thinking something might be wrong with the software, tried all available kernels/generic stock ROM/GB ROM/ICS ROMs... nothing/no response from phone...
Left the phone alone for few hrs n went with my old/trusted Nokia
Later When I tried again, I was able to flash fxp132 kernel required for ics CM ROM.. so went ahead n installed fxp139 (CM9.1)... phone booted and started working but with abrupt restarts...
Today it died again and I can not start the phone n same old issue of unable to flash anything to the phone...
I have tried sonys software and everything I can think of... flashing gets stuck either at 9% or 14%..
IS my X10 dead????
I need opinion if anyone faced this....
Thanks

[SGS2] Flashing Problem/Brick

Hi all,
so i just start and describe my problem. My Friend asked me to root his phone and flash RR 2.7. So far i did this with 5 phones be4 (s2 and s3)
He had ICS (4.04) with the buildnumber XXLQ6, so i took for rooting purposes this one CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_LQ5-v5.6-CWM5, because i couldn't find LQ6.
Ofc i did it with odin and everything went according to plan. After the restart phone was rooted and i had access to CWM.
I rebooted into Recovery Mode and Wiped everything icluding battery stats and dalvik. Then i selected the RR 2.7 zip and the Installation went smoothly. After that i wiped everything again before rebooting and also did the "fix permissions" thing in the adv settings.
Reboot and Phone stayed off no recovery or download mode.
I guess it is bricked and i wonder did i something wrong? Phone getting back to repair i hope warranty will cover it.
Thanks for Replies
Have you tried charging it? Perhaps the batter was too low and the flashing took all the juice. Happened to me once on a Droid3
no i dont think so I tried though. the phone had the original bigger battery and had 65% before flashing. no I am afraid ti flash ever again...
I quess you can try a USB jig to get into download mode, maybe the 3 button combo is out of order.
the device dead now and there is no way to relief it :crying:

[Q] S3 stuck on endless reboot

So this morning and last night my phone was working perfectly until it decided to reboot, but since then it endlessly reboots show the the "Galaxy SIII GTI9300" screen. It comes up, goes black, then it shows it again. Ive looked around for other fixes but i can't enter my recovery or download mode. When entering into recover, it works for about 1 second then the phone reboots so I am unable to do anything, I can enter download for a few seconds but pressing the volume up or down to continue doesn't do anything.
I am using foxhound 2.4 and Siyah 1.9.1
I don't have an overclock, I've tested another battery so I know that isn't the issue.
I haven't done anything to it so I can't think of a reason it would be doing this. How can I fix it?
looks like sds
Any fix for it? I can't access recovery or download mode and my PC doesn't pick up my phone, should I take it in for repairs? Will they repair it with the custom ROM and kernel?
send it in, looks like it's the only option
From what I've read about SDS, I am by no means an expert, you wouldn't even be able to interact with your phone. The fact that you see the boot logo means that it isn't SDS. I am not sure what I'd do though, as you cannot enter download mode and flash a stock ROM from there.
If you send it in to service, I guess they will find out about the flash counter and modified status and all, and you would have to pay. On the other hand, if that is what it needs it might be worth it.
Sorry I'm not more helpful...

So I sent my phone in for repairs and somehow they managed to fix it and get it back to stock. Before I gave it in I never had a red exclamation. As soon as I rooted it when I got it back it now has the red exclamation. Today my phone entered a bootloop doing the exact same thing but eventually worked. Not sure if it was the ROM. I'm considering flashing back to stock just to be safe. Doesn't seem like I can get rid of that exclamation without doing so. They sorted it out for free. I'm just worried they will say my warranty has been void next time
