I have an ATT i717 on Fido in Vancouver which successfully runs Flappjaxxx ICS with ucle2 baseband. Get 40mb speeds on LTE and would like to run Jelly Bean so I have tried One and Only, Jelly Beer, Liquid Smooth, Quinceyy nighltys with the latest modems and UCLE2 and All of them will not give me LTE just 3g-4g and the speed drops down to 5-6mb. Have tried to flash the UCLE2 and UCLF6 with TWRP 2.3 and just get a failed zip. Anybody have any ideas.

Probably redundant, but did you try flashing with CWM? Anytime I try to flash something and it fails during install, I'll just flash the other recovery (going between CWM and TWRP) and it will almost always work.
As far as the modems themselves, have you tried any of the APN tweaks from this thread?

Will these flash on other roms as well or only on cm7?

They are only set up for CM7 at this time. I am not on a samsung based rom so not sure what I would need to change in the updater-script so it can flash for stock based roms. But at least it gives us a updater script so whenever we get new modems it should be easy to flash and test them out with just dropping the newer modem into it and then rezipping it up.
So far I tested the Newer leaked UCKJ4 and sound quality sounds good and for my area it actually increased my download speed. At my house on JH7 I only get about 2-3Mb down and at work I get about 8Mbs down.
With UCKJ4 I just got 6+ at home so it is definetely better for my area. Upload speeds were about the same with 1+/-Mb. Again these are all based off of ATT modems so I am not expecting much spleen differences with them. Comparing to the differences in speed we had on the captivate running i9100 roms.

I think you misunderstood my question. I was asking if the updater script would flash on a stock rom or i9100 rom as is. Moot point now as I just repacked hellraiser with the new modem and it flashed just fine.

Try going into cwm and first wipe dalvich cache. Then flash the zip.
CWM, scroll down to ADVANCED, wipe dalvich cache, go back, install zip from sdcard. Hope this helps.
If not maybe it is because nightlies have newer kernels than the stable release?
I tried out both of them and had no issues. Glad it is working for others.

Also I THINK the i9100's will not work for us. I made quite a few to test out. I could get good signal and good download speeds, BUT when I called my voicemail I had no sound. Tried on multiple i9100 modems... bummer...

No need for a USB cable. Just download it to your phone, move it to the sdcard, reboot into recovery, wipe dalvich cache, choose the zip to install it.

Im currently running stock rooted gb, and i want to make the switch to ics. I have gone to ics before but went back to gb for stability. Now it seems a lot of the bugs have been fixed, and I want to try the new Only One Rom. However I am on tmobile and want to make sure the modems work. I know the gb modems wont work, but I have some ics modems such as blaze ics modem from the first ics releases. Will those work on these new leaks and roms?
Also once i make a nandroid backup and flash only one ics rom. Will i be able to revert back to gb if needed through my nandroid backup (like you could do with alpha 2 ics rom)?
i switch back and forth all the time, just need to flash the appropriate radio as well each time.
EG: you are on ICS with an ics radio, restore/flash back to GB and flash a GB based radio like Blaze.
I havent been able to get an ICS ROM to work with an ICS Radio. I get a big circle with a strike in it like a not allowed sign. As soon as i go back to GB and flash a GB Radio it picks up 4G any help?

On ics i am using the leet ics gs2 modem. and I get 4g signal but then after a while ill get a notification in the bar saying i lost data because i left my house and it wants me to turn on roaming?! and when i did just to try it i got signal again, but i wasnt sure if i would get charged so i turned it off. Didnt have any of this in gb
At least you get signal i have yet to get that far. Whats the link for the ICS ROM your currently on? Ive tried only one ROM and a no go for me. You should check if it works if it doesnt just restore and flash the radio again because when u flash the new ROM it will flash the UCLE2 radio and you will only get EDGE.

Maybe someone could explain this to me: What exactly is a Radio? I'm assuming a modem is what lets you make phone calls and receive data, but the radio is the GPS/Wifi drivers/firmware?
I had installed Blaze Modem and others trying to fix both a issue with S Voice and GPS. My data got better, and I got more bars but no solution for S Voice or GPS.
(S Voice only works over WiFi, won't work on 4G)
If I understand correctly, maybe I should be looking for compatible radios to flash as well? Any recommendations?
Theyre the same thing try a different radio/modem. Aee if that fixes the gps.
Im on the sgsII leaked one and works fine for.gps..

UVLC8 Baseband is always the go-to radio.

Can I flash the Telus firmware on a Rogers device?
Just asking because my device is Rogers, but I use it with Telus (Koodo)
You could, or get the de-bloated AT&T version and find the Telus modem.

I am on Telus and using ptmr3's debloated AT&T ROM and AT&T modem.
I just had to add Telus APN manually and everything is good.
And a Cdn Telus (de-bloated) recovery version - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2268617
My phone came from Bell, but I'm on Wind. What JB version (the less bloated the better), should I install?
Padawan JB might be a good option, or just his other straight debloated official JB.
I manually deleted even more bloat using TiBU on debloated official JB.
I used a ICS Padawan variant before the JB update, and it was stable. So, Padawan should be a good option as well. The dev is diligent with updating the ROM.
Does the Telus one have wifi Tethering and bluetooth tethering enabled? I have an original Rogers Device with official Rogers Rom on Telus, but i'm having issues with battery drain with Rogers ROM.

yes and yes. There is a custom canadian telus based rom by sam.jh in the rom section which includes those options.
i flashed att 4.12 jb stock rom, but no gsm network selection? like 2g or 3g swich? but i flash [ROM][4.1.2] SnowJB v1.1 there has 2g/3g/lte selection.
If you did flash stock jellybean then flash the ATT stock JB modem and see if that helps.

thank you shy
i got lost in searching ... so please could you help me out !!?
Just type for modems .......im on mobile and working so i can't link you at the moment .... Try looking for ucmb4 modem for our i717
my addiction:Flashing.
I know what they say about assuming, so hopefully it only takes place on your part here, but if you're assuming newer = better, you're very wrong. If you're on ICS, you aren't going to net any improvement by going to a JB modem. I know, without a doubt, ICS modems on stock JB cause major problems, so they really are software dependent. On top of that, if you're going it hoping to increase data with another (not AT&T) provider, you're picking a horrible modem to try that with. UCMB4 is the crowned ICS king of reception & data, and the blaze modems are a close second.
Modems are independent of versions so flash any modem you want.
