You can create swap partition and mount it with Swapper app from Play Store.
(P.S.: Your kernel has to support swap partitions.)

but i dont want to use sd card....as i have told my inbuilt internal memory is now free...because my phone is treating sd-ext as internal memory....so can i use inbuilt internal memory for swap....?coz it is faster than sd card.

Basically You can't use it, because it's not a linux-swap partition.

swap partition on sd card make my system slower is there any way to improve performance?

Any swap device, internal as well as SD card, will make your virtual memory slower. Using swap, is to buy virtual memory space at the cost of virtual memory speed. Also, in the general case, a Class 10 SD Card is about the same speed as the device's internal NAND storage.

Hi, thanks but it seems this mod swaps the external sd for the internal one. But what I'm looking for is to change the 2GB internal reserved memory for apps to about 4GB.

Not possible. Uninstall unused and junk apps and if you rooted you can remove Samsung music hub. Samsung apps. As they are incompatible and useless in most mobiles.

Cyanogenmod 9 Emmc Storage Issue

So lately I've noticed that my SD card is apparently full, like I'll get warning messages when downloading apps and stuff that the storage space is insufficient. But I know the overall storage space and I haven't used anywhere near that much. And I tried removing two files I didn't need through USB storage, and the space still didn't go up! I'm using cyanogenmod 9 on the Samsung galaxy exhibit 2 4G.

Its your internal storage not your SD card.

OK, but on app 2 SD it shows around 600 mb internal memory that is still usable. But when I go into what's on the SD card in that same app, it shows 0 free space which is also false. I know that the regular sdcard is the internal memory and ex-sd card or emmc is external. But still I dont have anything in there taking up that much space, app2sd shows that. And I've already dug around in root explorer and I couldn't find any massive data doing this.

Here, this is what app2sd is showing me.

OK so I think the problem is that since cyanogenmod doesn't use the regular external SD card folder, and uses the emmc folder instead, that's causing this.

[Help][XP] Lack of internal memory for installing applications

Hi I have 241MB free internal memory tho can't install new application which is only 440kB big. I don't understand this Why app which is less than 1MB doesn't fit in 241MB of memory? Anyway I'd need a solution how to free some internal memory then... Tried root cleaner pro but no free space, released ((
At least some app that helps me to discovet some disposable data would be useful. Can I delete dalvik-cache? It's pretty big.

move your apps to SD card and you're done
EDIT: you may tell me that you don't have any SD card but in Xperia P Internal memory (12Gb) acts like an SD card

Android ram expansion to SD?

Does anybody know if this is posible with android? Similar to have windows has turboboost. Like one would get a very fast read/write sd card to add more ram to there phone. I know many phones the internal storage is pretty slow so a high speed microsd would be alot faster than full ram trying to read and write to storage which we have all seen drag extremely.
Im content with the speed of my phone but its always out of ram :\

I don't even mind if it uses the whole SD card. I'd love to find like a 4gb crazy fast card. I don't know exactly what ram swap means. Unless it puts suspended program ram on sd

Low application storage

Keep getting the warning for low "phone storage" but it's actually my application storage. From what I understand it's the /data/data "partition." Is there any mod or tool that will work for this phone in particular that can increase (by using other storage, like sd) the size of this partition?
Thanks

Link2SD? Requires a partitioned SD card, though.
