Hey I just recently get a hold of motorolla Atrix, I just want to know what is the difference between Motorola Atrix and Motorola Atrix 4G? Can I flash any Custom ROM here with those devices that I mentioned.
You should be able to easily determine the model by going to Settings, About Phone. I have an Atrix 4G:
- System version: 4.5.141.MB860.ATT.en.US
- Model number: MB860
It has been asked many times and the answer remains the same: atrix and atrix 4G are one and the same, only name got changed for different geographic locations so yes you can install any rom from the dev-section.
Why is it so hard to search? Are people really that dumb or are they just plain lazy?

I seem to have screwed up a purchase again; my first Android phone was a Motorola Milestone, and because of its "International Edition" status it didn't work with any of the much-more popular Droid modifications. We were/are limited to mods that come out specifically for our phones, which are few and far between.
I seem to have run into the same problem with the Atrix. Developers are primarily working with the AT&T model, which doesn't seem to be compatible with the Bell models. Everything that looks promising has a big "DO NOT USE ON BELL ATRIX" label slapped on it; this has lead me to ask:
What's so different about the Bell Atrix that makes most developer tools incompatible? Are we screwed when it comes to new tools?
I don't believe there is much if any difference between the Bell and ATT Atrix hardware wise. The reason we are advised not to try the posted mods is because there hasn't been a ROM package (sbf) from moto or bell released for our phones to help us return to stock if something goes wrong.
I'm sure most/all of the ROMS/mods would work just fine... we just can't test until there is fallback or recovery method.
Hey Mates,
I'm an owner of an Atrix 3G (not a 4G, ATT or stuff like that), and I'm wanting to change its ROM, personalize it etc.
However, this specific forum seems to be reserved solely for Atrix 4G...
My question: even with an Atrix 3G, am I able to make all changes of ROM etc as if it were an Atrix 4G? Are the ROMs and procedures in this forum compatible for both 3G and 4G?
Regards!
The 4g is a ATT marketing term for HSPDA+. But however the sbf flash files from the att version can only be used on an att phone. The procedure for rooting applies the same to att and non att atrix phones

Thank you, mate. I was very used to HTC WinMo and even Android. However, things are a litlle bit different with Motorola. But I guess I'll handle it Cheers.
Hey guys,
I'm a noob, and this is my first post here.
I've read many posts already but still have some unanswered questions.
I have a Motorola Atrix 4g with AT&T. I love this phone and never had any problems with it. However, for the past 2 weeks the reception in my house dropped to 1 or 2 bars only. I believe my cell phone is always using the AT&T 4g network which is not good in my area and the option to change networks on my Android is not selectable. I wish I could select a different network (3g perhaps) to get a better reception.
So, here is my question: If I root my Atrix 4g, would I be able to select different networks within AT&T network?
My system version is 4.5.91.MB860.ATT.en.US
Android Version is 2.3.4
After I root my cell phone, if I decided to flash my ROM and install Gingerblur, will I loose all my apps? If so, is it possible to use a backup/restore method or would I have to install my apps one by one?
Thanks in advance,
Martin
Hi Atrix (4G) users
I've been thinking of an upgrade from my G1 and have found that the Motorola Atrix goes pretty cheaply on eBay for a dual core phone (compared to the Samsung Galaxy SII, for example) except Motorlola have not upgraded it to even ICS, and unfortunately there is not a thread for it on XDA... but there is a thread for the Motorola Atrix 4G.
So basically I want to know if the Motorola Atrix is, for all intents and purposes (those intents being rooting + ROMs), is the same as the Motorlola Atrix 4G. I've had a look at the specs and they appear to be the same (unless I've missed anything blatant).
SOLVED:
The Motorola Atrix and the Motorola Atrix 4G are the same phone, and sorry for asking as this has beeen covered many times
Yes

Next time try a little searching first.
Thread Closed, Thanks.
I bought a motorola ATRIX 4G, it came by mail yesterday. It has a lot of things from AT&T i don't like because I don't live in the US and some options are blocked (can't switch to 2G or enable tethering).
Is there a way to get a retail android system for my atrix? Where do i get the stock rom? How to flashed?
I'm a "noob" in android ^^ยก
That IS the stock ROM. Stock ROMs for the Atrix 4G come with AT&T stuff and various limitations.
You can easily cure n00bness by reading and learning. I suggest you start with the n00b guide thread in the General section.
