My Archos 101 G9 Turbo 250GB - 1.5Gz not start when I press the power button the green LED turns on and off and the tablet will not turn on, put a charge with the transformer and the green LED is blinking and the tablet will not turn on.
He asked the favor to someone who has a solution to my problem or else I can tell you if the only solution is to send for repair.
By the way, I bought my archos at Pixmania Pro, which is the best and quickest solution for the repair, what better place to have repaired.
Sorry for my bad English - Google translator.
With the greatest thanks to all this android community, thanked some response.

Normaly it blinks when the battery is full, maybe it's that ^^
And when you plug it, does the screen goes on?
No it does not blink like when full charge, it is a quick blinking, but no screen, it does not turn on, it's not like connect the charger and the archos turns on as always, screen doesn't start ...
If the screen doesnt start, it is a hardware problem
so we cant help here
Send it in to archos;-) they will repair your device
archos have a good replace service
yes but first I sent an email to archos support to see what they say, then I will send my archos back to US to RMA

This is worth trying. It could be that the battery is completly drained. My A101IT had the same thing, blinking light when trying to charge.
I found on another forum (http://forum.archosfans.com/viewtopic.php?t=46328&p=316279 )that one need to warm up the device. I put mine on a heater for a short while.
When plugging in the charger the device turned on, started up and started charhing.
I was also ready to request RMA.

Hi there,
Yesterday, i become the transformer prime and it worked well. But now, i can't unlock the Tablet. The screen still is off and it is warm.
when i plug in the keyboard, it plays the sound. If i hold the power button, it vibrates. if i plug in the charging cabel, the orange led ligths.
After 1 Hour the tablet was very hot. i put it out door, where it was -5 degree. After 10 minutes i take it back. Now it does nothing of these things and i sill can't turn it on
Can someone help me? (and sorry for the very bad english )
Sounds like Xtreme sleep of death to me... BTW, that's cold.
Sent from my tablet thing with XDA Premium.
Unfortunately it sounds like the same issue I came across. If you havent tried it yet and have the adapter plug your transformer to a monitor/tv via hdmi.
If you see your screen on the tv then it probably means a cable in your transformer disconnected.
If thats the case you will probably want to RMA it or try to fix it yourself by opening up the unit but could end up voiding your warrenty if you follow the later.
I believed it's because of version .13 updates

if you were to press and hold onto the power button (for about 8-10 secs) and you felt the vibration, technically it SHOULD reboot. well thats what happen to me anyways...
btw good look on it !
Hi all,
i just bricked my Archos 101 G8. I've selected "erase SD Card" in Gingerbread/Bull, after 36h of the circle of death, a turned it off, and that's it. If i plug it in, the green LED lights up, i can force-turnoff (10second powerbutton), but notting else. It's not visible in any way on USB (from an ubuntu-kernel-log).
Is there any chance to unbrick the sucker, or is it time to introduce my G8 to my G17 (later the one from Glock )...?
Greetings...

Can't you go into recovery by holding volume down and then power up?

Thanks for your answer. No, it won't even turn the screen backlight on, beside the powerled the sucker is dead :crying:
Hi,
Are you sure that your a101 is charged ? I've bricked my a43 five times yesterday. Last time, the tablet was ''empty''. Even the LED was "bricked" ^^. The solution was to connect the tablet to an USB/AC charger. After ten minutes, the LED was blinking, and 30 min later, i could access to recovery menu to re-install UrukDroid by flashing the installation kernel...
Try this method

Yeah, pretty sure, at least it was on the charger for a week, and it even was on the charger when i bricked it... I'm pretty sure i killed the flash by formating the SD Card, no idea why (i'm a newbie here, i'm not allowed to tell the Bull-Guys there might be a problem with the /dev/ thats formated when selecting Format SD Card inside Android Bull ... Well i guess i have to break out the torx and see if there's a JTAG in there...
And now, are you able to enter in the boot menu by pressing a volume key while you're power on it ? (On all first ARCHOS screen)
It's the only solution to repair it.
If you can't, i don't know other solutions

No, as i said, it won't even turn on after pressing the powerbutton, the green LED is the only thing that happens. No Display, no backlight, no nottin' .
Well, thank you very much anyway, i wasn't expecting that it can be fixed; i just wanted to be sure there's no USB-Flasher like there's for the newer Series or some supersecret UpUpDownLeftLeftReboot-Cheat code ...
I can't find my torx set at the moment, if i manage to revive the sucker somehow i'll report back, not much to loose at this point, jtag away

No jtag reachable, but maybe UART could help you. Here is a thread from scholbert http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1199450
BTW we had the rawfs partition mounted in init.rc on /mnt/rawfs. Unfortunately I only noticed this after your post. I already pushed fixes for this to the git.
I hope you can revive your tablet again.

You might prefer to sell it's parts while they are stil valuable. People are looking for parts like LCD etc.
Hello,
A friend give me a bricked Archos 101 G9. It was bricked when he tried to update it. The tablet switched off when he was updating and right now it doest work.
When you press the power button the power led blink (green) for a second, and nothing more.
I tried to connect to a PC and nothing. Any idea?
Thanks a lot!!!
Can you see archos logo on the screen? If not, it might be totally bricked. First thing is to try to boot to recovery. This can be done by holding powerbutton and volume -, until you see white screen and some text. If you don't see anything, I can't help.
No, I cant see anything is TOTALLY BRICKED.
And It's Impossible to boot to recovery.
Thanks anyway!
Try charge the battery for 2-3 hours then try in recovery mode

Did you unplug everything? By that I main not only unplugging the charging cable, but also pull out any USB device(s) from the rear 3G USB port, also any microSD card, headphone, HDMI, etc.? I mean unplug EVERYTHING from every connector!
Then, press and hold the power button for over 10 seconds (I'd suggest holding for at least 20 seconds).
After doing the above... then plug in the Archos supplied USB cable, plug that into the Archos supplied charger, and then plug the charger into the wall power outlet. Notice I said "Archos supplied" USB cable and charger!
Do NOT do anything else, and do NOT mess around with pressing the power button or anything else!!!
If the device is working at all it should do one of the below:
1) If the battery is to low to start up the power LED may not light up at all, or it may blink quickly. If the screen does not light up and show the Archos logo at this point then just leave it sit until it gets enough charge to do so... and then leave it sit another 4 or 5 hours to completely charge.
2) If the power LED lights, but is not blinking, and the screen show the Archos logo and goes on through to a normal "lock" screen, then leave it alone until it is fully charged and the LED starts blinking.
[NOTE: The power LED blinks (although a bit differently) when the battery is to low, or when it it fully charged. Pretty stupid eh?]
3) The screen lights up and goes from the Archos logo right into the (white) Recovery screen with various options to fix things.
If it does this last one, then you should be able to get back to install firmware by connecting it to your computer. Of course, you have to have downloaded the Archos firmware .aos file with your computer first, and then copy it to the tablet.
If it does NOT do any of the above... well, then I guess you did totally brick it. Don't know how, but I do know that certain 101 G9's that installed the very early 4.0.24 firmware did get bricked by that "official" Archos firmware release. It was pulled from their servers as soon as they found out about it.
If you are still stuck in the last part of what I've mentioned... then the best thing to do is contact Archos and get an RMA to return you device for a replacement.
In all honesty, it's really pretty hard to brick an Archos G9 by accident unless there is something seriously with the device to start with.
Could someone help? Bought a second hand prime and thought to have the nearby Asus service center fix its touchscreen digitizer and camera. They said that it would cost too much to have it fixed because the "mainboard got damaged".
The device was working fine before but I thought they meant that they couldn't repair just the touchscreen because of the mainboard mismatch causing the inverted X axis so I thought to claim it and cancel the repair and just use it as an Android laptop.
When I bring it home to charge, now the tablet would not power on and would only show me 2 blinking orange lights when plugged in (to the keyboard or the wall charger ). The charger would charge the keyboard just fine (it's at green) but plugging the tablet into anything would just show me 2 blinking lights then nothing.

Hey I'm having this same problem, I noticed that this happened back in 2014, did you happen to figure it out?
Nope. I figured they ruined the device when they opened it up and I got screwed out of it. Decided to get another tablet on ebay which was cool for a while
