When my Atrix was in Stock Froyo/Stock GB, in Google Navigation ,
Voices are clear and even speak StreetNames.
After Unlock i tried custom ROM, Neutrino Rom and used Google Navigation
Voices are different which i didn't like and no streetname speak out. Only Turn right/left.
Then i flashed NottachAtrix Rom which is again Stock ROM.
Using this Rom, Voices are clear and spoke StreetNames.
Then i updated to epinter CM10 ROM and used Navigation,
Now Voices are different and no street names speak out.
I am not sure why this happens like this especially CM Roms, which i tried but not on Stock.
Is there any way to Fix to have Stock Navigation Voice or any option to change Voice and option to Speak out Street Names?
I looked up settings in Navigation app and didn't see any option.

Hi people,
Today when I was using the navi function with my Droid Eris GSB v1.8 ROM something very interesting, if not scary, thing happened. First there was the stock google maps voice speaking directions then it turned into this creepy voice repeating a URL over and over. Have anybody had this issue with the GSB v1.8 ROM???? I know v1.9 is out but I haven't flashed it yet...
any help is appreciated thanks!!

I've had it before, and I am not sure that it was a GSB or a CELB (Froyo) ROM - I actually don't think the problem is the ROM. (I haven't tried GSB v1.8 yet). In my case, I determined that I had apparently chosen the wrong TTS facility to use with the Nav app. The "creepy" voice reads the XML file really, really, slowly, right?
If you have Google Translate on the phone, you probably have both Pico and TTS Extended on your phone. When you start up Nav for the first time, it asks you (twice) which TTS library you want to use.
Frankly, I don't remember what I had done to cause the problem in the first place - all I know is that I did not have to reload the ROM from scratch. Probably I tried clearing the defaults for the TTS libraries, and if that didn't work, I probably un-installed and re-installed the related apps.
I am guessing (because I can't really remember exactly) that you should choose Pico as the TTS engine for Nav - because if you don't ever install Google Translate, there is no need to install TTS Extended, and everything will be fine.
Hope that helps; sorry for the vagueness.
OMG THANK YOU! I was searching all over the place for the answer and I was about close to throwing my phone out the window because I thought it was possessed. Flashing GSB v1.9 and I will make a note of the TTS engines.
It's like they halfway updated the voice, but not for all phrases yet.

So I finally took the plunge and rooted; I installed CM7, as well as an updated kernel (I think it was from "imoysen", or something like that?), though I'm still kinda shaky on these concepts. So I have a few questions.
First of all, on CM7, it appears that I don't have a voicemail app anymore. Previously, after installing CM7, I was missing the Android Market app (as well as other Google apps), and someone instructed me to flash GAPPS, which got these back for me. Am I going to have to do the same for voicemail?
Secondly, back when I was on stock, I like using Fancy Widgets and/ or Beautiful Widgets to get Sense-lock clocks (but with more themes). I'm noticing now, on CM7, though, that none of them are able to pick up my location for weather. Why is that, and how do I fix it?
Lastly, and this is one that I'm VERY curious about, now that I'm rooted, is there any way to make headphones with controls originally made for iPhones (the ones with volume +/-, and a middle button) work with the Thunderbolt? I know they don't work on stock because it's an Apple proprietary thing, or whatever, but is there a way to get them working on a rooted device?
Thanks much to anyone that can answer any of my questions.

No idea on Voicemail; I've only used Sense-based ROMs. I would assume that there are multiple voicemail apps available (but you could just use Google Voice, and avoid ever having to listen to voicemails! text message transcriptions of voicemails are much better)
Weather Location: In Settings -> Location, make sure you have location services enabled. Also make sure you have syncing enabled in Accounts&Sync.
As for the headphones, check out https://market.android.com/details?id=com.kober.headsetbutton&hl=en
You'll notice, however, in the description:
Headset Button Controller cannot support the separate volume control buttons on the iPhone headset - this is a limitation of the Android framework.

So you'll only get 1 button worth of control.
Hm. Well, in CM7, I don't see any kind of setting for "Location", nor is there anything for it in Accounts & Sync. I know when I was first trying to get it to work, I stumbled upon some settings for location, but even when I had everything enabled, it still wasn't picking up my location.
Bummer about the headphones... I have a really nice set that I like a lot, I just wish the three buttons worked with Android.
Flash this in your recovery. This is the latest network location apk. Should fix you location.

Cool, thanks, that did the trick!
1st, I can't get NBA Jams to install, I found a person who said to change the prop build to get it to install. Fine, but I have no idea what to change it to?
2nd, I saw a rom that had the Sense 4.0 task manager where you scroll right/left and swipe up to close an app. I can't remember which rom it was, and I can't find it. I'm running Team Obsession RC1, is there any way I could flash this?
3rd, I'm not a fan of the Samsung contacts app, I have Contapps from the Play store, and I like it but it's still not exactly what I'm after. Outside of apps on the Play store, could I flash a contacts from a different rom? I really like the stock ICS one I saw on my friends pohone. I've heard I could flash the CM9 people app, but my attempts to do this haven't worked. My phone's rooted and I'm running the latest CWM.
So i just flashed XXLPQ and for whatever reason it doesnt have the double tap home button voice command function. Perhaps im one of the very few who like this feature? How can i install it?
Is there a different version i should try? I have been out of the game for a while, theres about a dozen or so stock(ish) roms and quite a few more custom ones. Which should i use for battery life, performance, and features? I'd be putting nova on there so whatever launcher it comes with likely wouldnt be of consequence, One stock rom seems as good as another except at this point my bluetooth doesnt like doing the voice command thing because its not enabled on this rom. Any ideas?
I have searched all the forums, all the sites i could possible look into, but i couldnt find one thing.
Yesterday i rooted my phone, instaled JellyBam custom rom, which is awesome etc. But one thing keeps buging me. Before this, i used simple stock rom, and used stock app to send sms. There was like a whole tab of simple android heads smileys, where i could have spammed them and click like letters. And now what, all i can do is to acces through menu and click and insert only one smiley. if i want to add more i have to repeat the same actions again and again, its quite annoying. Is there a way to make a button which would show whole smileys layout?
P.S. I'd like to use Emojis but most of people im texting doest have it, so they see just squares.
Also, when i make a call or take a call, and talk, i can hear my own voice through speakers where i should hear only callers voice, this never happened with Stock rom and kernel. Any thoughts?
