Hi everyone:
I need your help. Sorry in advance if this post doesn't belong here.
I recently got a Galaxy S3 clone phone with an MTK-6575 chip. I received it with Android 4.1.1 rooted.
Today I did on it a factory reset because I am going to sell it. I did the reset from the Android settings... However, when the phone restarted itself after the factory reset, it won't boot any more. I just gets to the welcome screen and it won't load the OS... What can I do? What could be the problem?
I still can get into recovery/download mode tough...
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance...
Did you try to flash stock rom again?
Clear cache and dalvik?

I think if you are on custom rom, so you can't just factory reset it. Try flashing a Rom over it.

Hello guys,
I must admit I am an absolute noob a bit out of my depth and panicking a little bit now. I successfully rooted and flashed my phone with a custom rom, the resurrection ics v9.2 however I wanted to go back to stock vodafone rom. So i downloaded BUKE1 vodafone firmware and flashed it using ODIN. Now my phone is stuck in a bootloop with the galaxy S II logo repeatedly appearing. I have just left it as is as I am now too scared to do anything :/
Any advice on what I can do? I know you guys have been over this a million times but I am freaking out.
I have read the boot loop thread above and it says to flash a stock rom using odin but that is what I had already done...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try wiping all possible things in recovery.
And don't worry, atleast some1 pro will help you to get your phone to boot, also can you get to recovery and download mode

Hey thanks for the quick reply, I can get to recovery mode definitely. I just went in and wiped user data / factory reset option. Do you think I should try flashing a different stock vodafone rom?
Ok after wiping user data it now appears to be fine. I'm sorry for wasting your time.
it is recommended that you wipe everything after flashing in order to avoid boot loops or similar errors
glad it worked out for ya

RE: helppp
Kinda need some more information.
What happened for your phone to start doing this? Did you try to root it, flash it etc?
Where in the world are you? You may need to flash your phone so this helps me find the right firmware for you.
What Network are you on? Same as above, helps me find the right firmware if needed.
Any idea what version of Android you were running before this happened or were you running a custom rom?

so I have had my galaxy s3 for about 4-5 weeks. Had rooted it and flashed a custom rom, figured i'd flash this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766684.
after following the necessary steps, my phone is stuck on the boot animation...any suggestions on how to fix?
any help is much appreciated...note: i am nub (left apple )
You do have the at&t variant? If so I suggest maybe a bad dl and possibly a fresh dl with a fresh install would fix.

I'd wipe data/factory reset along with wiping /system and try to reflash first. if it still fails then i second the bad dl
Hi
I'm about to sell my S2 but before I do I want to make sure that I've deleted any private info etc from it.
Normally I'd do a factory reset but this is on 4.0.4 and eMMC check shows it has an insane chip.
How would you recommend I clear all personal data etc off?
Cheers
Im assuming you rooted so if you have stock or stock based kernel, don't wipe or do factory reset with CWM and you should be fine but I'm not really an expert so I can't be too sure

Factory reset through security. From how I understand it can only brick if factory reset through recovery menu.
Thank for that, I'd read the thread about the 4.0.04 hard brick as the normal factory reset could brick it! I've just reset it and it's ready to go.
I did brick my other rooted S2 by resetting through CWM though but Samsung repaired it under warranty - just didn't want to go through that again!
Hey,
I'm selling my SGS2 this evening. currently running on 4.0.4 official. How to set it back to "out of the box" state. Cant find factory reset anywhere? I want everything to get deleted.
Kind regards.
Hello, sad to see an s2 being sold :'( you should find it along with the back up and restore option's.

Go to recovery mode and do factory reset/data clean cache and dalvik cache and you are done!
Flash LS8 and sell it as an SII Plus
