Hi there, I'm a new user of xdadevelopers and am thinking about upgrading my X10 Mini with a custom rom. However, I have a few questions and would be grateful to anyone who could help me.
The first question is, when I back up everything (apps, calendar, system settings, etc.) will certain apps like the calendar, messages, call log, alarms and notes (basically all the system apps) will their data still work after I have restored it on the phone once I have flashed the rom?
Secondly, will my apps (like Angry Birds, Unblock Me, Peggle, etc.) retain their data once I have reinstalled them after flashing the rom?
And my last question is if there is a difference between these two roms: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1068553 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1151499 ? It's just I'm a bit confused with the pictures. In addition, if there is a difference (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1151499 looks a bit more appealing) are there any instructions for this rom?
Thanks

Hi Empat (if I can call u that) thanks for you reply.
However about backing up things like the messages, I also mean about the calendar, notes, etc. (basically system app data) I was wondering if you could back up those too and if they would be compatible with the new system apps after flashing the rom.
And, um, do those backup apps u've just mentioned, do they come at a price?
Thanks

It's half-ported, 50%.
and even that 50 % is only claimed by one person & not confirmed by anyone else
Bravia Engine 61.0087651409% done.
It now allows for using the phone's display as a HD projector.
Practically no its not possible without open boot loader. You can't change or increase pixels without unlocking boot loader else 16 mil colors would have been out long time back
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
It is literally impossible to increase the pixels without changing the screen whether the bootloader is unlocked or not.

Please Help! No Bravia Engine option after Wolfrom Install
hello,
This is my first post, so please do bear with me... thank you.
I have an X10 on Orange (UK) and the stock 2.3.3 upgrade was rolled out last weekend.
I upgraded my phone to stock 2.3.3, and about two hours later rooted it (Ads were really bugging me) and then yesterday I installed the Wolfrom (Wolf_GB_2.3_TW_V4.zip) very easily using xRecovery. I followed these steps:
1) use the SE Backup & Restore for 2.3.3 (so glad this was available on this forum as I couldn't see it when I first upgraded and all my contacts etc had gone of course).
2) Boot phone in xRecovery and back up rom
3) Full Wipe, Clear cache partitions, Wipe dalvik cache
4) Install Cutom rom (as above) and then reboot phone
this worked great! And I had the rom on my phone, saw for a few seconds it worked then decided to use 2.3.3 backup and restore (had to install again) to get my contacts, messages and system settings back. I didn't check between installing the rom and restoring whether the BRAVIA engine was available, but when I look now, the Mobile Bravia Engine is NOT available in my Display Options, and I don't know if I have the battery tweaks which were mentioned in the thread installed either.
The phone defintely boots up as Wolfbreaks ROM, but I think my Restore may have messed something up, I just don't know what. Can anyone please advise?
To reiterate, i don't have the Mobile BRAVIA engine, or the new funky battery indicater (which is meant to improve battery life?), but do have the EDT tweaks app available. Can anyone help please? I will need to run a restore to keep my contacts/bookmarks at the very least - I can probably live without the text messages and mms messages. I am wondering if it was just me selecting "System Settings" when I restored that could have caused all this. Thank you so much in advance for anyone who can help.
Regards

Search for flashtool pal and use that. That will root, install xrecovery and even unlock it bootloadsr. Among other things. Basically no there isn't a risk really with rooting ur phone. It can be uprooted very easily and it opens ur phone to a world of possibilities. If u need more info feel free to send me a pm I'll help u out (not at pc at min or I would post links for u to everything u need)

I pretty much tried all the latest roms of froyo while been on the stock .24 rom till today.
The one thing that really bothers me though is the fact that I need to suffer with the stock messaging, phonebook and dialer of android instead of having the nice SE stock apps.
Is there any way or a rom that has froyo with the SE dialer and messaging?
Is that even possible or do we have to have the bootloader fixed first?
Thanks in advance for the help.

WolfBreak's CM 6.1.3 v054 has the official ARC dialer which is pretty much the same thing. For messeging, if you don't like the stock messaging app, then you should use Handscent which is amazing.
sorry to ask such a noob question but im new to all this....am i right in assuming that "WolfBreak's CM 6.1.3 v054" is the name of a rom? a few days ago i changed my phone to "free x10" is this wolfbreak cm a similar thing? and if i flash my phone to the wolf break one, does that mean that i will have to reinstall all my apps and completely refigure my phone again (ie settings and layout etc?)
thanks for any help
CM 6.1.3 V054 is the name of the rom, made by wolfbreak. It is actually smoother than beta 4. I had restored my data from xrecovery from beta 4 and it didn't cause any issues since both beta 4 and wolfbreaks's rom have a common base.
But I would recommend you to install all apps afresh. It wont take much time, will it?

hi, thanks very much for your help. i have installed wolfbreak's rom, everything is going fine except for some reason i cannot get into the market (i flashed the new market, and havent got around to flashing the blue market yet) and also when i try to log in with my google account, i cant! there is only an option for an exchange account (which i dont think i even have one?) and i cant figure out how to get in. its a real shame becoz i love the look and feel of this rom, but its pointless if i cant use the market or my gmail account. i tried to ask this question on the wolfbreak thread but cant as i am only a new member do you know who i can ask for more help?
thanks

You need to flash the rom again:
- do a Factory Reset
- Wipe Cache Partition
- Format Cache
- Wipe Dalvik Cache
- flash CM 6.1.3 [v05].zip after that flash CM Update v054.zip
- reboot, login to the market and google account.
- reboot again into xrecovery and flash the new market

thanks for the quick response. i have already tried re-flashing the CM 6.1.3 rom (using the directions from you) and still no luck, and so i did another factory reset whilst in xrecovery and installed the free-x10 rom which i was using prior to CM 6.1.3. and its the same thing in both of these roms - i cannot get into the market and when i go to add my google account it only allows me to use an "exchange" account? (whatever that is?)
is there a way i can go back to android 2.1? thanks for your help!

yes you can use seus/pc companion to repair or a flashtool to flash a stock 2.1 rom
never mind - i just found the problem, it was my own stupid fault, i was installing CM-6.1.3-V4.5 instead of 6.1.3(v05). so its all good now, sorry for getting off the topic of the thread but i am also interested in finding a se dialer for froyo too. is there a way to change the 'in call display' to the older 2.1 version configuration where the buttons were in different places and the display picture took up the whole top half of the screen?
thanks

this is exactly what i want too..
Wolf's rom is awesome with its speed but personally i always liked the stock 2.1 phonebook and dialer which display pictures not in the middle of the screen but covering the whole top of the screen
is there any way to use them back in the wolfs rom?
i personally dont mind it having the smaller pic, every single display pic i assigned to my contacts came up blurry and distorted, no matter what i tried to do. i thought it was something to do with all xperias but my husband just got a htc desire and yeah, same problem with the picture pixelating on his too. ive read that its google's fault but dont know if someone has came up with a solution yet or not?
OK, i´m a new "flasher" and i have a Question.
I got my new SGS2 and i flashed it with the "Batista70 FOXHOUND EDITION 2.2"
All works fine! Now the Version 2.4 is out and i wanna flash this new Version. I spent a lot of Time to load my apps and configure the Apps, Launcher, make my Homescreen how i like........ - this new Version 2.4 is a "WIPE" Version, so all my Apps and on and on are gone after the Wipe. Thats right? Is there a possibility (maybe with an App) to save all this Things and bring it back after the Flash?
In short-form: i want to flash the new Rom and keep all other things, respectively bring it easy back
thanks a lot

- the search function
- the Batista ROM thread
- Titanium Backup
Oh, and btw, wrong section, should´ve posted on Q&A.

Is my first post here and first i tried to post ind the "Batista ROM thread" and it say´d "you have not the rights to post here" :-(
Or there are different "Batista" Threads?
How can i move the post to the other Thread ?

You can´t, it´s a job for a moderator (now it´s when he appears flying using his underwear over his pants and save the day).
The thing is, usually when you install a new version of the same ROM, no wipe is needed, but I am not sure about Batista´s. Try backing up using Titanium Backup, then install the ROM without wiping. If everything works after that, cool. If not, boot into cwm, wipe, clear cache, reboot, then restore your backup.
Big Thanks!!
I think i try it in this way
Titanium Backup saves all my things - is this right? Do i need the normal Version or the Pro?
The normal version will do for basic stuff. Make sure you also back up your contacts (google), sms-es (sms backup and restore app), call logs (whatever app) and do a general NAND backup from recovery mod.
firstly get yourself TB premium..Trust me its worth getting...back your apps up. then flash new foxhound version and then restore your apps through TB and you should have things the way you did..especially if you are using go launcher or launcher pro you should be fine
I made my Backup
SMS
Google Contacts
Call Logs doesn´t matter
Download new Batista 2.4
make now my NAND backup.....
and let´s start i hope all gets fine
Thanks for all your help....
@Matriak31 - i use the "go launcher"

If you can do a backup with titanium backup from the data, you could try another rooted phone/tablet, restore it and see if the data's there. But I'm not sure if it will work, maybe the data is linked to the ics xperia s keyboard and you can't use them in gb or xperia t. If it's possible try it on another device.
Or you just do a cwm backup, flash gingerbread, root it and restore the titanium backup data. If it works you can be lucky, if not you restore the cwm backup and you have all your data on ics back and you can think of other steps

Hello everyone,
Can anyone please tell me, whenever we install a new ROM on the android phone aka one plus instead of manually installing each and everyone app is there any way to backup all apps on my existing ROM and restoring all the apps @ one go. Because installing one app at a time is a tedious thing. So let me know if it's possible.
Thanks

Just use Titanium Backup
Titanium backup pro has a feature of batch install + auto installing..
