Hey,
Just received my phone from repair center. For no reason they decided to make my phone branded, changed to Three!! Cheeky!! Am furious!!
Now I want to role back to my original firmware but don't know the original baseband version, product code. Only IMEI and UPC of original box.
Have been trying to find a solution but haven't found anything.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Go to Sammobile and use the Firmware checker. Select your country and your phone and you'll find the latest software. Flash that.
Thanks, but I need to know the original version. There's no country in the list and bought this phone on ebay

Ah, I don't think there's any way to find that out once your firmware has been changed!

There should be some way
What was your original firmware .
Then find the modem in the modem thread .
If you don't know the original then nobody else bar the seller will know .
You can use CHECKFUS to download any current firmware and flash via Odin .

I tried to root my phone using universal-androot and it was successful. After that i flashed clockworkmod recovery. And i thought of making a back-up of my current stock-ROM and there it was... my phone suddenly got blacked-out. Now i cant even turn-on my phone. I tried all the different possibilities like holding 'vol down+home+power', 'vol up+vol down+power', dint work .!! help me please
I was told that you can't backup stock roms using clockworkmod.
Can you turn the phone on in any mode? normal/download/anything else?
Nop !! can't do anything. Tried all the patterns.
did the phone do anything before it turned off? or did it just go blank?
Also, can you remember what clockworkmod was saying before it went blank? e.g. what processes it was undergoing?
I think the problem is with clockworkmod recovery. Coz while trying to flash the recovery, I was asked to select the phone model, but 'samsung galaxy 5' was not in the list, So i selected 'Huawei model' or something in order complete the installation! but still the installation was successful. And when i clicked 'Backup my current ROM' the phone suddenly got switched-off.
Were you trying to install the recovery from rom manager?
You need to install it via odin for the Galaxy 5.
Your phone probably needs a time+materials trip to the service centre.
Yeah, flashing that can't have done your phone any good Rom manager doesnt (yet) support our phone
have you tried firmware download mode?
remove your battery, put it back on
now press volume down, central select button and power.
keep holding till a yellow sign appears with android and a broom
now go to odin and flash CWM recovery or other rom.

It appears to me he did.
I had the same problem.
I removed the battery for 30 minutes, and removed the SIM. SIM removal was necessary.
Remove the SD Card too; it might help.

Dear XDA-Developers,
yesterday I flashed my Galaxy Ace 2 with the JellyCreamMessi10 Rom.
The update worked fine, but not so the Rom. It looked quite well, but didn't detect my SIM Card.
So I wanted to downgrade my phone again to the original firmware with Odin, which also worked well until the phone said "Now rebooting...".
Nothing happened, the phone did not reboot, so that I powered it off and tried to power it back on.
Unfortunately, the Ace 2 does not react on any button, display stays completely black.
:crying:
Tried several things like connecting the phone to USB and inserting the battery, afterwards, but nothing happens.
For me it looks like my phone is broken, but perhaps you can give any advice how I can get it back to live?
I would appreciate each single hint...
Thanks folks!
Regards,
TobaYn3

Did you accidentally have PIT checked in addition to PDA when you went to flash the stock firmware? From what I can tell buttons not at all responding and completely black screen could indicate your phone is hard bricked, in which case you would have to use JTAG to unbrick your phone.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
First of all thanks for all your replies.
I don't think that PIT was checked, but the other thing sounds like exactly the state, my phone is currently in.
Can you please shortly explain what exactly JTAG is? I can only find links for the XBox at Google.
Can I buy it somewhere?

Most likely you lost your bootloader, when its was being flashed ( due to power loss) or whilst initializing...best thing to do is take it for replacement IF still under warranty. rather than trying JTAG. Samsung will not be able to detect your tempering
Look in My Android Solutions for similar problem ( scroll down)
I'm sad to say that you most probably lost your bootloader... No way other than the assistance(you WILL have to lie) or the jtag.

Maybe I don't understand? If you hold the power button yes your phone will turn off, if you just press it briefly and it turns off then yes that's an issue.

Hey
I deleted my operation system on my s6 edge.... And i trying to use Samsung Swtich to fix it but i cant find my serial number. any help pleas???
It's hard to say what number you need. Your best bet is also the easiest: have a look at the stickers on the box it came in.
You can get the S/N by holding the power, home, and volume down buttons until the warning screen appears. Then press the home button to see the bar code screen. Hope this helps.
My serial number was on a sticker on the back of the phone when it was bought.

Can you explain how that helped you? I'm stuck in download mode after a failed ODIN update and trying to use smart switch to initialize my phone. I enter the IMEI that I get from the screen in Russjhjr's post, but it tells me that the serial I've entered is invalid.

Did you make sure that what you typed was case-sensitive? And it's the S/N number. Not the IMEI. The picture below the imei picture, if you will.

The serial number is on the back of the handset. Underneath the CE logo (and the other symbols/numbers) you'll see, in TINY and hard to see writing, that the S/E is there. UNLESS you've changed the rear glass.

The problem for me is I rooted and after my first reboot I got the FRP lock screen in a boot loop. I can enter download but flashing from Odin fails due to the frp lock. I can reset from bootloader but still no joy. The only post I have found that looks promising is the one that says to use Smart Switch Emergency Recovery but none of the numbers work for the SN. I have tried every one on the box, and the one on the back of the phone. No luck. I can't boot the phone so I can't see from the software either. The one that shows up on the barcode (vol down + home+ pwr then home) is the same as the one on the back of the phone. Any help greatly appreciated.

I flashed a later stock version onto the phone to recover. Next I ran the rooted version I wanted, then ran the frx fix. I reset and ran it again. Be sure not to install the OTA update for security or it will give the error again. Also, reboot a few times before you start reinstalling apps to make sure it doesn't error out. I am pretty sure the OTA update is the culprit. Good luck

Marshmallow update glitches on install now it is calling for smart witch emergency recovery but it requires a S/N which is NOT IEMI and it's NOT written on the phone. Odin wont load Sammobile firmwares. What to do? :crying:
having the same problem with Samsung S6 (SM-G920P) Smart switch does not recognize serial number (barcode) found either in download mode or on back cover
The needed serial number for these type of Sammy phones is not on the phone somewhere like the Smart Switch software says! It's actually inside the box on a sticker with a barcode on it only with IEM numbers and model number.
After my above post I found this and the serial no. worked inside Smart Switch to do and initialise , dl latest stock rom and install.
Unfortunately as of mid 2016 even having the serial number is now being rejected ... yes I am in trouble again with indian curry muncher custom rom and can't load back a stock rom via smart switch or odin!

Yes my phone is a N9208 Note 5 how is that relevant?
I think the problem is that I have a custom rom now Dr Ketan's M12 and this rom makes the phone software say is a N920S and maybe the Sammy server rejects my serial number and model of SM-N9208 because the phone currently says it's a SM-N920S
Maybe this is not this reason but it's all I can think of and currently have no way of going back to a stock rom since Odin never gets past 0.05% progress bar on a rom flash on this phone! (though I can flash recovery and root fine in Odin... ie it's communicating

Hello,
I've purchased a Galaxy Tab S6 (SM-T865N) International version, mainly to use it with with 4G in US on Xfinity Mobile. I received the tablet, inserted the SIM card and it was working 'relatively' on the network. Every now & then I would get a message 'failed to register to network', but for the most part, mobile data is working.
Since it is a Korea version, certain things don't work. Nothing major, but I would like to make it perfect. Certain User update posts in the Galaxy store display in Korean Language, and the weather app is slightly limited, with the error 'not available outside of Korea'.
I did some searching and found other firmware available for this exact model on Sammobile. My country (US) is not supported, but I would like to try the UK firmware, if nothing else, to fix some of the language issues. I downloaded the UK firmware package and Odin (3.13 & 3.14.1). I installed the Samsung drivers. I booted the tablet into recovery by holding 'power & volume up' then connected it to the computer. Odin WILL NOT found the tablet. I rebooted into the normal OS and connected it and Odin then found it, but obviously that doesn't work. I can not get Odin to connect while in recovery.
Does anyone have suggestions on what might be happening?
And maybe all this effort isn't worth it either, hard telling whether it'll work better or worse with the UK firmware on it. Any tips?
It's been several years since I did this sort of thing, so I'm a little rusty. I thought this would be a simple procedure.
it sounds to me like you are not putting it into download / Odin mode, but I could be wrong. I haven't tried to use Odin on this tablet yet, but was actually about to do this same thing as well, as my device has an origin CSC of singapore, and hasn't had an official update in almost 2 months, so I was going to flash the UK version as well.
---------- Post added at 07:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:51 PM ----------
So I just tested it on my tablet, here is what you need to do:
Power off the device
Press and hold the Volume up button and then press and hold the power button
When you see the initial boot screen, release the power button, but keep holding volume button
When you get to the recovery screen, you need to use the volume up / down buttons to highlight the option that has "bootloader" in the title, and press the power button to select it.
Then you should see a screen that says "Download" or something like that.
Plug in USB, and Odin should see the device.
Yeah, you're booting into recovery, you need to boot into Download mode - Hold both volume up and down whilst inserting the USB-C cable to enter Download mode.
Your correct

Have you tried reflashing the old firmware of your country? Weird that its not working.
I did try that and managed to flash it successfully to the old firmware using Odin but unfortunately I still couldn't get it past a full reboot as it got stuck after a long time and it takes me to the Android System Recovery screen wherein also tried to 'wipe cache partition.’ and try reboot again but I still end up with the recovery screen!

Can't you put in a warranty claim ? Here where i am based i had a new battery, and new screen installed from samsung! this was a Galaxy S8+ was well over 2 years old they did it for free! New screen and new battery! My Note 9 is going this monday for a new battery my Tab S6 works flawlessly so don't need to send that in! but i'm sure if you ring up Samsung they will replace the motherboard for free as it's not even 12 months old!
