JAVA for Galaxy 3 - Galaxy 3 Themes and Apps

Hey Guys,
I bring you the ULTIMATE JAVA RUNNING APP for our G3.
It works on :- Froyo, GingerBread, ICS, & Jelly Bean as well.(TESTED & CONFIRMED)
Steps:-
1 - Extract.
2 - Copy the .so files in the system/lib folder with any root explorer.
3 - Copy the .apk files in system/app folder.
4 - Reboot.
NOTE: There are 2 apks but only 1 app will appear in the app drawer (JAVA ME APPS).
IMPORTANT: jar files can be installed directly but jad files need to download the equivalent jar app. So, for installing jad files, internet is needed. An FC message will pop-up on the launch of any game. Just ignore it.
Only touch screen games can be played on it. I request if anyone can develop a d-pad with lest & right soft-keys to play all games.
Enjoy JAVA on your beloved G3.
Click on thanks if I was able to help you.

Games Attached
Here are some games that run perfectly....!

Keyboard
For non-touchscreen games you can use hacker's keyboard (It is having arrow keys but no left and right soft-keys) and lower its height to 30% for seeing max of the screen. Access it by selecting soft-keyboard on long-press menu selection in CM settings and long pressing the menu key after game start up.
But, I request someone to build a d-pad for playing java games please.

Getting rid of the "standard input" bar, lets get it down :D

Hi all.
I've been trying for some time now to get rid af this annoying bar. Eventually, i found out that i can't do it myself, and i need som help.
Objective: Removing the blue bar in the bottom of the screen, if you have changed your input method to another configuration than the roms.
Tries so far:
In system/usr/keyboard-config/layouts, i've tried to copy the settings from qwerty-no-dk.xml in to all other files (azerty.xlm, cyrillic.xml and so on). with this i managed to get every language selected to write the danish æåø, but when i deselect standard input, i stil get the original layout.
Tried to rename the Keyprint name: in the keyprint.xml - no effect.
Anyone wanna give it a try?
Regards, Heien.
The bar that has the time, date and signal?
I suposse that is the blue bar of the keyboard when opening the phisical keyboard. I also hates it
yep me too.. it is annoying when browsing it covers the lower part of the page
the .png is located in the SuquashiInputMethod.apk & can be modified to have other colors, i'll try to make it transparent, but give it not more than a shot into the blue, i have done it once on 1.6 & no alphablending enabled, so may just result in grey/black bar at bottom.
what u need:
go find Theme Reference Thread in X10 Dev Forum, read the part with .xml decompilation & recompilation & then find the damn .xml blamable for the icon to be shown.
simply delete image call & bar is gone
edit: digged into it further & decompiled suquashi
xml blamable found in /res/layout-land/querty-statusbar.XML
trying to get rid of it now
hmm seems like my decompiled files already contained failures, fc after managing to get it installed
hmm seems working..??
still not wanted effect..
how to define transluscent background of a relative view, if view needs 1) background & 2) background is not shown only by changing backgroundimage to transluscent
seems also to be on same lvl as "real" screen content..
remove SuquashiInputMethod.apk
I don't use the se keyboard. I removed SuquashiInputMethod.apk.
I don't have that problem And Swype is wonderfull
Yeah the easiest way to get rid of it is to use a different keyboard application.
I'm Currently using Swiftkey..
when using different kb, do you have symbols dialog & the other features from hardware keyboard?
hmm
Numbers you can, Caps you can
no smilies,no ascented characters-from physical keyboard
Smiles and ascented character can be inputed from soft keyboard
I do not believe that we need to get rid of the bar by changing in the xml and image files, i believe that we somehow should be able to alter the default input somewhere (as we did to get out custom languages working) to support our native input method. When i recieved the phone from 3 (in denmark) the language bar was hidden, althrough my input was with danish characters, and this is the effect i'm trying to achieve.

I've been looking at the same issue, and is quite annoyed. I think you're right in your assumption with the xml files - apparently i can only find the apk unzippers not the decompilers (dont have computer). The keyboard asis should be capable of functioning in the way we are looking for - on my device when i run terminal emulator the keyboard essencially does what i want (though the cursor in the terminal doesn't show keyboard state - symbol/shifted), and have experinced other situations when this giant bar of blue death finally dissapeared

try this:
1) in your home folder in apktool/framework folder you will find 1.apk open it with 7 zip.
2) pull framework-res.apk file from /system/framework/ extract resources.arsc, replace it with one in 1.apk.
3) Now try decompiling/compiling.
PS: if may not find the apktool folder if you clean all projects, load the project try decompiling ( it will create the apktool folder in your home) now try decompiling again

(How To) Transparent Power Control Widget

A couple people have asked how my power control widget is transparent so I thought I would share the simple process.
Disclaimer: blah blah we have all seen it, this modifies settings.apk so it can put you in a boot loop. (Keep a current backup)
**This info is already online and I just tried to organize it in an easy to follow manner, there are also multiple ways to achieve the end result**
Necessities:
Ninjamorph (free in market) and a File manager/explorer (I use root explorer)
1: open ninjamorph, grant SU and let it perform its checks. It will probably error on SD card space. Reopen it and you should get no errors (unless you are in usb transfer mode)
2. Select new project and navigate to /system/app/settings.apk
3. Ninjamorph will extract the files to /Sdcard/AndroidThemes/Workspace/settings.apk
4.Back out of ninjamorph and find the files I have attached at the bottom.
note: if you do not want RED active (on) lights only use the appwidget_bg.9.png file (this will leave the "on" setting green
5. In Root Explorer (or your file manager) copy these files and navigate /SDcard/AndroidThemes/Workspace/settings.apk/res/drawable-hdpi.
6. Paste the files. They will overwrite the existing appwidget_bg.9.png along with appwidget_settings_ind_on (left center and right) 4 files total.
7. Back out of root explorer and reopen Ninjamorph.
8. Go back in Ninjamorph and hit back until you can select "Finish Project" near the botton of the app
9. Select settings.apk and let it do its thing. It will ask if you would like to zipalign. choose yes. It will ask to clean up the project. Choose no or yes, doesnt matter since you replaced the files with your file manager.
10. All done! The phone will reboot and you can now add your transparent power control to the home screen

Sure, After you click the link about halfway down on the page click "free download"
Wait a second and click it again when it says "download now"
The file is an RAR which will need either 7zip or WinRAR to grab the 4 .png files out of the archive.
If anyone is a non-techie, Widgetsoid is a free widget that is highly customizable power control widget that can be set to transparent and has a large number of control options.s.

Windows Phone 7
This is a simple procedure to change the interface of android to windows phone
First of all,I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY HARM YOU MAY CAUSE TO YOUR DEVICE!!!!!!
First download these awesome softwares from other cool devs available on the play store or as apks on the net
Launcher 7(Home screen)
Photo safari(Pictures hub)
Z player (Music Player)
WP7 Notifications(Notifications.Duh!!)
My xbox live(games hub)
Wp7 Lock(lock screen)
WP7 Contacts(Contacts)
Wp7 Phone(optional)
Wp7 calculator
Wp7 email
Downloaded? Now for the second step,Shift all the user apps to system apps.Apps like the phone and music should be replaced.Xbox live, calculator can just be loaded.NoteELETE THE ODEX FILES IF YOURE DELETING A SYSTEM APP!!!
In case you dont knw how to make a user app to system read on,else, skip the next para
There are two ways you can convert a user app to system:The NOOB way and the XDA way!
Noob wayownload titanium backup pro, long press an app,go to special functions and click move to system app Or download system app mover.
XDA way:
Important: Make sure to allow any SuperUser permission requests that you may get during these steps..
Procedure
Configuring ES File Explorer for root read/write access (required only once):
Launch ES File Explorer, press Menu and tap ‘Settings’.
In the settings, enable the ‘Up to root’ check box.
Further down in the settings, enable ‘Root Explorer’ check box. You will get a warning that you should confirm.
You will then get the Superuser permissions request that you must allow.
Finally, enable the ‘Mount File System’ check box, and press the back key to get back to the explorer interface. ES File Explorer is now configured to work as a root explorer. You do not need to do this again on the same device now, unless you uninstall ES File Explorer, perform a factory reset or install another ROM.
Finding the APK of an already-installed normal app (skip to step 3 if you already have the APK):
First of all, install the app from Play Store, if you haven’t already done that.
Launch ES File Explorer and go to /data/app. (You may have to press the back button to get to / first).
If you know the icon of the app, you can easily find it here. If you are having trouble finding the app here due to the confusing names or because of having a lot of apps installed, just search for the app in Google Play Store in a web browser and look at its Play Store link for the name. The file name will basically be the part after ?id= in its market link (and before any other question mark that may or may not appear in the link).
If you already have the APK of the file that you want to install as a system app, make sure you have transferred it to your device’s SD card if you haven’t done that already. Also make sure you know the path where you have copied it on the SD card.
Once you have located the required APK on the SD card from ES File Explorer, tap-and-hold on its icon till you get a menu, and tap ‘Cut’. You should see a little blue arrow on the bottom of the screen now. (You may select ‘Copy’ instead of ‘Cut’ if you are copying a file over from the SD card and want to keep a copy there. In case of copying an APK from /data/app, always use ‘Cut’.)ES File Explorer Copying
Now press the back button till you reach / and then browse to /system/app/
Tap the little arrow that you see on the bottom of the screen. It will bring up a pane with the icon of the copied file.
Tap on the file’s icon, and it will be transferred to /system/app/.
Now find the app’s icon in the list of files there and tap-and-hold on it till you get the menu.
Scroll down in the menu till you see ‘Properties’ and tap on it. You will now see the properties dialog.
Tap the ‘Change’ button in front of the Permissions to bring up the permissions dialog.
Make sure everything under ‘Read’ is checked, only ‘User’ is checked under ‘Write’ and nothing is checked under ‘Execute’ Your screen should look like the following:ES File Explorer Permissions
Tap OK on this screen and then on the Properties screen. Your app’s permissions are now set correctly.
Reboot your device. Your app is now ready to be used as a system app.(optional)
Well were done!
youre ready to use ur brand new WP7!!!

[MOD] [4.2.2] All Apps In Multi Windows

Here is a mod to make all your apps multi windows compatible.
THIS MOD WORKS ONLY WITH 4.2.2
I know that there are some apps here and there that do the same job but the advantage of this mod is that:
1-it works without any third part app which means that you'll save some ram and some battery,
2-with third apps when you install a new app you have to reboot to have that new app to show in the multi windows tray, whereas with this mod you don't need to reboot, the app shows straight away in the tray.
DO A BACKUP JUST IN CASE
Installation
Download AllAppsMultiWindowsMega6.3.zip, flash it from recovery, clean dalvik cache, reboot.
Bonus
I added a second zip called permissions mw.zip.
It contains files that will enable you to activate two hidden functions in the multiwindows tray (recent and templates), and to have multi instance.
DO NOT FLASH IT but extract the two files.
Navigate to your system/etc/permissions folder.
Add .bak at the end of com.sec.feature.multiwindow.xml so that it becomes com.sec.feature.multiwindow.xml.bak.
Copy the two files from the zip into the folder.
Set permissions to rw, r, r (6, 4, 4).
Reboot.
Now you can see a recent tray at the top of the flashbar (multii windows bar), and a button with a cross at the bottom (below the edit button) of it that is the template button.
Bugs
I found the recent function somehow wonky, but it kinda works and maybe it'll work better for you depending on your phone's configuration.
Multi instance doesn't work for all apps, and for some apps one can't open two windows one after the other (one has to open one window of let's say app A, then app B, then one can open a second window of app A with the first app A still open).
Enjoy!
thank you so much for this

(Optima Team)How To Build A Stock Based Rom(The 2nd Gen Ultimate Guide)

What You Need
a stock based rom to work with
I am not going to go into detail of how to make on because there are numerous tutorials on how to do this. if you would like a tutorial on how to do this here is a link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2195858
This is a stock based rom for the e450. i have already deodexed and zipaling all the apps.
the keyboard does not work because it was deodexed.
https://mega.co.nz/#!a1gTTL4B!JJ6Lin9K5gbTW5O4OfTZTkDnxWXEXjfaE9szbpa0W6E
Java
you can probably get away with installing JRE but this is the start of something bigger so download the full JDK package.
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/articles/javase/index-jsp-138363.html
Android Kitchen and Cygwin
Android kitchen is a very nice program for building your own rom. this will allow you to deodex, zipalingn edit bootimg and much more.
Cygwin allows you to run linux programs in windows. (ie you need Cygwin to run Android Kitchen)
Android Kitchen
Cygwin
if you want to know how to set it up head over to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2195858 there is a nice tutorial on how to do it.
Apktool
apktool allows you to decompile, edit and recompile apps. this is perfect for editing apps.
https://code.google.com/p/android-apktool/
Android Multi Tool
you can probably just use apktool but lg apps have to have original metainf and I am not sure how to do that in apktool so I use both.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2326604
Winrar and 7zip
I use winrar to edit flashable zips because its easier. I use 7zip decompress zips because i found errors on winrar. so install them both.
http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
http://www.7-zip.org/download.html
Notepad ++
I find notepad ++ stable for editing xml files.
http://notepad-plus-plus.org/
Slimming Down
now that you have a stock based rom, one of the most important things about making a good custom rom is making it fast and bloat free. the easiest way to do this is to remove as much junk as possible.
to do this simply open the stock rom in winrar and start removing.
here is a list of things you can remove from your stock based LG 2nd Gen Rom.
/system
Code:
usbautorun.iso this is that annoying disk image that wants you to install LG software every time you plug in your device
/system/app
Code:
# Remember if you rom is odexed you need to delete the corresponding .odex file
AtciService.apk not a big app but it is constantly running in the background
AAT.apk not sure what this does I removed it from day 1
AlarmClockbin.apk this is the alarm clock app you may want to replace it

CBbin.apk I cant remember what this does but if i recall it is the Remote Call app
ChromeWithBrowser.apk this is the chrome app if you remove this also remove the app bellow
ChromeBookmarksSyncAdapter.apk chrome sync
DoubleTapWakeup.apk this is the knock on feature, I replaced the home screen app so I deleted this aswell
DrmProvider.apk not sure but it runs in the background
DrmService.apk not sure but it runs in the background
EngineerMode.apk this is the hidden menu when you dial a certain number
EngineerModeSim.apk this is the hidden menu when you dial a certain number
FontServer.apk this is found in settings>display>font style. all the fonts look the same to me so there is no need for me to change them.
Gallerybin.apk this is the picture app you may want to replace it
GMS_Maps.apk this is google maps
GoogleDrive.apk google drive
Hangouts.apk Hangouts
HiddenMenu.apk this is the hidden menu when you dial a certain number
HiddenSIMUnlockMenu.apk this is the hidden menu when you dial a certain number
LGBrowser_JB.apk this is the browser you may want to replace it
LGEIMEbin.apk the keyboard app that doesnt work you may have to replace it
LGHome3_Theme_Biz.apk LG Home Theme
LGHome3_Theme_Cozywall.apk LG Home Theme
LGHome3_Theme_Marshmallow.apk LG Home Theme
LGHome3_Theme_Optimus.apk Default LG Home Theme only delete this if you replace the Home Screen app
LGHome3a.apk LG Home you may want to replace this
LiveWallpapersPickerbin.apk Live Wallpaper Picker
Memobin.apk memo app
Music2.apk Google Music
Musicbin.apk LG Music App you may want to replace it
PCSyncUI.apk PC Sync

Replace Apps
now that we removed all bloat ware its time to customize. before we do anything flash the rom to make sure you didnt remove something wrong. the easiest way to make a custom rom custom is to replace some apps. to do this its allot of trial and error.
here is a list of apps that can be replaced with others
Code:
AlarmClockbin.apk
Calculatorbin.apk
Gallerybin.apk
LGBrowser_JB.apk
LGHome3a.apk
Musicbin.apk
Videosbin.apk
you may be able to replace more but I have sucessfully tried the above apps. one thing we need to remember is to try give the replacement app the same name as the default. this in most cases will allow the replacement app to be called on as the default app.
for instance if you replace the home app but do not give it the same name when you flash the rom once the phone has started the screen will be black because it will not know where the home app is.
to find apps to replace your stock apps the rule of thumb i use is download download download. download as many roms as possible. use the apps from other roms to replace with yours. for greater success download a roms with the same dpi as your.
you can use this thread to find lots of carrier apps and Custom rom apps

or use this link for replacements that I can confirm work with e450

Apk Editing and Cleaning
so now we have removed bloat ware and replace some apps. before we go any further flash the zip again and make sure everything is working.
now you are going to need to know how to decompile and recompile apps without getting a FC. I didnt want to write this part because there are alot of tutorials on how to do this but because LG wants to be funny about the metainf and manifest I have to.
1. First copy all the apk files in /system/framework to your android multitool folder and place them under files.
2. now copy the file you want to edit to your android multitool folder and place them under files.
3. launch Android Multi Tool and click the ... button under framework.
4. select the lg-res and click install
5. do the same with all the other framework files you copyed
6. click the ... button under Decompile
7. select the apk you want to mod
8. click decompile
9. navigate to Decompiled apps/yourapp/origonal and put these files aside
now you can decompile the apk with apktool
cd to the directory where apktool is.
type
Code:
apktool if lg-res.apk
use the command for all the other frameworks
then
Code:
apktool d appyouwanttomod.apk
now do the necessary editing in the folder apktool created.
once you finished editing type
Code:
apktool b appyouwanttomod
you will now have an app in the appyouwanttomod/dist folder
before you can use it you will need to copy the files that we got from Android Multitool.
to do this open the apk with winrar and drag and drop the files.
