I'm had a really strange bug/problem in Android for months and I still haven't been able to find the roou cause of it in order to fix it.
For some reason the browser is not rendering correctly webpages - the fonts are extremely small and the page is off centered.
This is happening only while on 3G/Edge connection - if using WiFi this issue doesn't occur.
This happens with every single browser: Stock Browser, Firefox, Chrome, Dolphin, etc.
I thought this was a ROM specific issue, but I have tried flashing more than 3 ROMs now (every time I've flashed i've done a wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache and wipe data/factory reset) with no luck. I also tried formatting the internal SD.
Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
(I opened months ago a thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1876535 since I thought it was a rom specific/device specific issue, but since it its not rom specific/device specific i'm posting here hoping someone knows how to fix this).
Thank you!

This is Your answer. Maybe Your GSM/CDMA provider is using some kind of proxy. Check APN configuration on Your phone. If there will be nothing, then I can't hel You.

I really like the overcome ROM for my P7500.
My only problem is that I have signal but still no Internet connection. Tried sending a SMS from my tablet, and it worked. But no Internet connection.
Had the same problem on Overcome v. 1.2.3. (Upgraded to Overcome 2.0.0 P7500JJKJ6 with full wipe... 2 times now)
Data is enabled, and made sure the APN was correctly setup...
Could it be the baseband that is wrong: XXKI1?
And Im quite sure I flashed the right ROM...
Please help me out... can't find any solutions to this one..
Thanks in advance
Attached photo..
-------------Update -------------
Tried restocking my device to Stock XXKL1 ............ Still no 3g :S
So maybe its not related to the overcome rom...
Going to call my telco tomorrow...
still open to suggestions..
------------update--------------
Fixed!
APN Settings was wrong.
I thin the overcome ROM it's not for 3g only for WI-fi, but you can check the site or ask in the forum in the Android development forum.
Thanks for your comment
Overcome is for both Wifi as well as 3g.
I've heard of some people having issues with their APN settings. You should check them, if you haven't yet. I use Overcome 2 as well and have no problems. Baseband is OK, I have the same on my tab.
EDIT: I've just seen that you have already checked that. Try to wipe everything again and start from scratch. Did you check file hash before flashing? Could also be a bad flash or download.
Now I'm at the end with my suggestions, sorry.

Hey all,
I am a previous Galaxy S user and now have the S III. I know my way around Android OS but am STUMPED here!
When wi-fi is OFF (mobile network), Google Play store wont render any images whatsoever. I can still get to apps, read description and buy them, but no images. Every now and then I get a "Error: no connection" error when previewing an app but when I retry it works (still no images though) - "Couldn't load Screenshots - retry"
The same is true for Foursquare and one or two other apps. I am not in a bad area - perfect reception and HSDPA.
Twitter and others do not have this problem, but the apps that do experience it are doing so continuously and without fail. I can not stop it happening, unless using Wi-Fi, which is not so often as I am moving around a lot.
I have cleared cache/data from several applications in the list, restarted phone etc etc.. I am avoiding having to do a hard reset here as much as possible as I have to travel this week and do not have time to re-do my all my apps etc etc..
Is there a way to clear DNS cache or something on these phones? It seems as though when using regular mobile network, certain apps get stuck and can't receive certain data while others have no issues whatsoever.
Please help guys - any suggestions are much appreciated!!
Thanks,
Wit
Same problem man tried everthing I've managed to find. Not much on the issue the issue though.

Change the dns settings. For wifi it's in wifi in settings then press the bottom left capacitive button on the phone and edit it. I'm guessing mobile network is also more or less the same.
Use 8.8.8.8 . Always works

SUCCESS!
Champion! That was it (sort of). Mobile settings > find your providers APN > clear Proxy settings. Using google public dns 8.8.8.8 anyways - dont trust these people
South African Vodacom customers takes note -

Broken proxy - seems to affect all android users - since APRIL. typical.
tx buffguy!
Typical. I work at one of the SA networks. Lol let's not get into which, but this isn't the first time they missed something like this when approving firmware, and you think call centre support would know about it. Half of them run a blank when you say "Ice Cream Sandwich ". Thanks to both of you though.

I had this problem. Try this
Settings - More settings - Mobile Networks - Access Point Names
Then make sure you are set to Internet and not WAP
eg Mine is Orange UK Internet and I was set Orange UK WAP and it was causing images errors and all sorts
I hope this solves it for you
Cheers mate tryed that and its worked

Glad it solved it
Sent me mental when I 1st had my S3. It worked fine with my O2 SIM and on Orange it only loaded a few images on each page.
Finally found that setting as its been fine since.
It seems like the phone defaults to Orange WAP and not Internet. The O2 SIM caused a pop-up asking me which mode I wanted to use
Just told the mrs to do the same to her s3 lol and she sends a big thanks to you

Hey buddy.
Wish I could give you a finite solution but I never really came right with this until I installed a custom Rom on my phone. Running stock I always had issues with the images in the play sore. I'm with Vodacom down here so dunno if it's network related.
If you go with a custom Rom I highly recommend the final ICS FoxHound 1.4.4 release. Been through many roms and this is by far the best as a daily runner.
Hope you come right man!

Hi buddy,
If you haven't found any solution yet:
I too am using Vodafone Mumbai network and started facing this problem quite recently (could have been just after I flashed LI5 ROM).
Anyway I scoured the net for solutions and found nothing that helped. So through some trial and error I found this solution:
Go to APN screen where you should have two APNs: "www" and "portalnmms".
Hit menu button and click on "Reset to defaults".
Then select "portalnmms" as the default APN.
Solved all issues for me!
I am having this exact same issue. Using Vodafone 3G in Mumbai on a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Tried to set "portalnmms" as default APN but can't. Tried changing the "www" proxy to 8.8.8.8 but that didn't work at all. Is there a solution here?
8.8.8.8 is a dns server (powered by Google) not http proxy. You must either use your carrier's proxy settings or leave it blank

I know this may have been answered before.
I picked up HTC One x+ yesterday . Its picks up my home WiFi network during initial setup but when enter my password to connect to the WiFi .
it says out of range. And when go through the whole setup process and go into WiFi settings . It doesn't show the Home wifi at all.
I thought it was a hardware issue so i did press the phone where they show to press in a lot of YouTube videos. But it doesn't make a difference.
I have done the Factory reset from the settings and also through recovery wiping cache and then factory reset.
But No Success . It picks up the WiFi initially but doesn't connect to it after the setup.
I have also tried installing custom ROM . ARHD but same problem.
Stock rom version is: 1.17.401.3
Any help or suggestions plz.
Sounds like a buggy device to me. I'd take it back.

Just to echo what carnage said. WIFI works great on my device. Maybe it's a fault on your device, but you can always try the usuall suspects. Do a factory reset, see if that solves it. You could also try turning your router off for a few minutes, 99% of my WIFI issues are solved by that... Lol

Hi all is the wifi problem solved? i had the same problem now its solved..
HI to all, I am having a weird issue, I have both devices (listed in my Signature) which happen to give me a No connection - retry error every time I go to check my email, or even if I go to the Inbox folders such as Forums, I am all the time receiving No Connection Retry.
- I have tried clearing cache and data ,restarting, email shows up fine, after a couple of seconds I get the no connection again.
- I also did a full wipe on my tablet and have done everything from scratch practically, a couple of seconds later I receive the no connection error.
- I have also tried a different wi-fi connection, and also tried a 3G connection and the issue still persists.
I am really at a loss with this as it is really annoying; is anyone having similar issues or might suggest another work around for this please?
Thanks for any help.
Same thing happening to me, and lots of other people too it seems. Please update if you find a solution!

Hi there its been a while now since i have been having this problem, since gmail's latest update actually, i do not have these errors anymore, and i never used droidwall or anything else.
Thanks.
Really hoping someone can help me out here. My Mate 20 Pro has all of a sudden developed and WiFi connection issue. The signal drops out and within the WiFi settings I get error messages network access denied or no Internet connection.
My phone has been back to Huawei twice for repair and was still getting the same error message so assumed it was the router (all other devices connect okay). New router has been delivered today and I get the same error.
Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone have any ideas to resolve?
I have wiped the partition cache, forgot network, changed WiFi passwords but nothing seems to work.
Likewise having issues with mate 20pro and WiFi dropping and then not able to connect.
I've not looked into why happening as I find reboot phone works although major belly ache when trying to watch, chat or surf.

Each time my phone has been 'repaired' and a few times in between.
Only thing that seems to work is reboot and then wait a few hours for problem to return.
Access denied - reboot - repeat
Think that's me done with Huawei.......back to Oneplus
Ive been having this the last week or so, thought it might be the dns (adguard) will test and see, but if you guys have issues and are not using an ad blocker then it must be something else... weird.

I use adclear as as blocker..... didn't think this could be causing issue as it has only just started, I've been using adclear before update to emui 10
Was having this the last months and 2 or 3 System uptdates. Sometimes a reboot fixed the wifi, but most of the time not.
Wiping the Cache in recovery menu fixed the wifi Problems on my phone. No Problems since then!
