Lapdock or tablet

Like the title says.... which do you think should be my new toy? Lapdock for our phone or a particular tablet
Pros and cons

Negative on the lapdock.
I've been looking into the Xoom vs galaxy 10.1 and I'm partial to the Xoom because of the stock honeycomb, unlockable/lockable bootloader, and aluminum back. Some of the GT10 devices suffer from 'oil slicks' when the screen touches the glass because it is so thin.
I've also been looking into the Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet (not the ugly ideapad) but I'm thinking the dev community behind it wont be that great.

Well I'm down to the toshiba thrive and iconia a500 but I want reasons on why I I should pick either of these or the lapdock.....I've done my research and know the specs but I eant (hopefully) personal experience with lapdock vs tablets

Peruse the Q&A and General sections for stories of the lapdock (both bad and good). However, between those two tablets I have no experience.

Just try to buy a TouchPad from the next batch of sales HP is supposedly gonna do in a week. By the time you ever get your hands on one, the CyanogenMod port will be out lol. Thankfully I was lucky enough to snag one within a week of the fire sale announcement. I'm typing this post on it right now actually.

Wikipad 3d

I was browsing and came across this tablet:
http://mobile.theverge.com/2012/5/3/2995878/wikipad-3d-gaikai-cloud-gaming-announcement
It will have a quad core tegra 3 processor and ship with Android 4 and retail at a mere $250 with the gamepad. What I'm wondering is, could this be better than the prime, for like half the price? It does look quite promising and you can switch from 2d to 3d anytime, on any app.
I was set to get the transformer 300 but may this be superior?
Thoughts?

The article doesn't mention that it will be $250. But it would be pretty cool is some third party manufacturer made something like this for the transformer prime.
If you view other articles, then I'm sure the price is meant to be $250. Unless they've changed their plans...

bump as I kinda need guidance on what to do, wait for this, or get the transformer?
Sent from my R800i using XDA
if you wait for the best thing there will always be something better just around the corner.
from what i read its a smaller screen and might not even be touchscreen, i dont know i didnt spend a lot of time reading about it... basically its a cheap android tablet that supports 3d and has a custom built gamepad dock.
The prime or 300 are more like premium built tablets that support a hell of a lot more than that gamepad, bigger screen, and a full keyboard dock, however slightly more expensive.
My quesitons for you are this:
Do you need a tablet right away
Will you be using it for games, videos, music, internet, etc.
Will a keyboard dock be benifitial to you
how often will you use the gamepad
will using a bluetooth controller (like a PS3 Controller) be an acceptable alternative
Basically, weigh out each benifit and downfall of each tablet and based on your own use determine which is the best fit for you. None of us can tell you which will be the best decision for you.

Are you kidding?
It's a gamepad not a tablet. Should I buy a car or a tv ?

just bought it. thanks for the heads up. I loved playing this game and broken sword2 on my Ipad. I'm sure it'll look even better on prime higher resolution screen/display.

Modern Combat 4 is coming..

Anyone excited? haha But its most likely that the would not be optimized for tegra 3.
Edit: its released now.

There are some rumors about a leaked version, it would be good to try before buying it and see how it does on our 300s
Leaked....somebody please!!

w000t so far the first lvl runs pretty smooth. I'm creating a touch profile for it

Didn't want to incite somebody to offend forum rules...
Yeah i've seen the leaked version.. Haha but the graphics looked great on ipad, hopefully we get the same level of graphics when its released... I wonder why do gameloft never makes a tegra optimised games..
Works really well and smooth. Especially with Sixaxis.
IMO graphics could be better, but it is a leaked version. It's PS2ish, anyways I guess its still pretty good for handheld android games. I don't recall MC3 graphics, so it might be good to compare them to see if they have improved. Also, we have to take into consideration that there are a lot of things happening at the same time on the screen. Overall so far its been pretty cool.

It looks pretty similar to mc3, the graphics.
MC 4 on tf300t
Hi guys , i compile the game on tf300t and the galaxy note 10.1. The Graphic on note 10.1 is very good, i can see details with the note and not with the tf300t. Why is it so? Tf300t has a tegra 3 and the note a mali 400 gpu?? An example is the first screen. Galaxy note animated fire. Tf300t nothing ??

Gameloft don't tend to optimise things very well for tegra. I think it's just that the game isn't optimised for our device and i wouldn't be too surprised if nothing is done to change that

Maybe because the note 10.1 has 2gb ram?
Hmm... Yeah I wonder why gameloft never optimise for tegra..... They didn't even give a word bout it.... I mean wild blood on my friend's galaxy tab 7.7 has better detail and effects compare to on my tf300t... I think gameloft is loyal to Samsung and boycotts tegra :<

lol You bought it? I'm here waiting for it to go Sale, wouldn't want to spent $7 on not optimized games.

Best tablet?

I am looking for the best tablet I can buy around $200. Which one of these do you guys think is the best: the nexus 7, 7" kindle fire HD, acer iconia a110, or the Samsung galaxy tab 2 7". If you guys know any other good ones around the same price, please tell.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
Take the Nexus 7. You'll receive the latest Android updates (highly optimized, too) and, if you need more storage, you can mount an external hard disk or any pendrive using stickmount.
The problem with the nexus tho is the no TV out
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
Yep, that's right. I don't need it, but if you do, then the best choice for you can be the Iconia.
Can I use a headset with a mic on it on the nexus? BC I found some people complain about the built in one.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
The Nexus has only audio out. That makes no sense for me... but well, I haven't designed it
Anyway, I think would be better if you ask in the Nexus 7 forums, those guys will help you better than me
