Change your Si Number in an easy way! - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hello,
There is a way to get the desire ROM from what do you want from Sony Companion PC
Just Change the Si-Number?
Now the question is How exactly change the Si-Number?
simply you should change the SI number in build.prop ,
but simplest is to a program do it for you,
So I had written a small program with c++ that will do it:
Here's the link of it : Sry: had messed up with something, will try to fix it
Just open 34.exe and follow the instructions,

Or simply change si number in build.prop

SI number is different from Customization number. It won't work. SI stands for Sales Item and it describes the hardware, not the software.
Also, even though you locked the bootloader, the DRM keys are still wiped and that can be seen by Sony Serice Centres.

well just search for it ... how about this one? http://unlock-bootloader.com/unlock/

Doesn't work on 2012 devices.
SI is not the same as CDA. Unless Sony have merged the two recently (which I doubt).

So this is not working on Xperia U?

try to downgrade to a lower frimware like .168 instead of .182 (just flash a .168 firmware) then change your si number to 1261-5054 in that way you will get an update for your si number (1261-5054) and you can install that update via pc companion

Downgrading and rooting is in my tutorial, link in signature.
Just use a File Manager(ES File Manager for example), go to /system folder and open build.prop file. If you see any other SI number there, just replace with the one, that is on your phone(under battery). I can't remember, how many times the SI was, I think 3-4 times. Just edit these numbers and save it again.
Nothing else, you're done.
Did that trick on my LWW also.
Sorry to bother, but what exactly is this SI number you are talking about? Is it the serial number?

Answer:
Since there are minor differences in the software depending on product, country and operator we have a unique identifier that we call Sales Item (SI). The SI is identified by an 8-digit numbers in the format XXXX-XXXX. To find out what SI number your phone has, please take off the back-cover and take out the battery. Under the battery you will find your SI number.

Thank you!
But why one should worry about changing manually the SI after flashing a ROM?
because of warranty sir

I have flashed several ROM from neo v android development section. The result is that my phone doesn't recognise my default SI number. So does sony Ericsson update service, in order to get the latest 4.0.4 update. Please guys , any possible solution or mod to this?
SI
I've tried to mod my SI seen by SEUS through changing the xml files in SEUS. I believe that by doing so , everyone will be able to official upgrade
moving this to general section

dude why don't you try changing the SI nums in system/build.prop ?
It seems that SEUS can't load the info from build.prop. . . I've changed them all to 1254-6062, but still S1 tool can't show this SI number

Why don't you just flash 4.0.4 .ftf? I mean, since you already flashed few ftf's you already lost your original software/firmware which you had on your phone when you bought it.
To be honest, I don't understand what you mean by "The result is that my phone doesn't recognise my default SI number".
I don't know for which CDF's is ICS out on PCC or SEUS, so can't tell you what number to put in build.prop.
Maybe you can explain your wish/goal a bit clearer.
Anyway, read my thread which I linked above, maybe you will get idea how PCC or SEUS works.
To be honest, I don't understand what you mean by "The result is that my phone doesn't recognise my default SI number".
I mean that my SI from the back of my phone and the SI found in build.pro and/or what is recognized by S1tool are not the same.
I don't know for which CDF's is ICS out on PCC or SEUS, so can't tell you what number to put in build.prop.
When update serviced is launched through SEUS, there are 4 xml files created in its folder. changing their values might hopefully change the download request from their servers.
Also, SEUS seems to autoload some data for the update process from phone when connected in MSC mode. I can't figure out what to change @Madfish. I want to try to trick the detection by seus, in order to get my phone straight again. Reverting everything to as it should be.

[Q] I want to update to the official Sony ICS 4.0.4

Somebody please help me ... my original neo is SI 1246 7713 and run GB 2.3.3. and i update to 2.3.4 using wotanserver and also change to SI 1247 0875. the question is how can I get back to my original SI 1246 7713 so I can update from Sony official ICS.
what happens when you plug in u r phone and start Sony PC Companion
also try SEUS see if it works
If you want ICS Official from Sony and you don't mind losing everything, download Flashtool, then download the latest ICS ftf file from here. Flash the ftf following the instructions from Flashtool, and you're good to go. PM me for more info
Already connect to PCC and result phone is uptodate

@OP: first let's start with one basic thing. Number you are talking about is not SI number, but CDF number. SI number is number written on the back of your phone.
You can't change SI number, but you can change CDF number.
How to change it, read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604559
actually in first post you can see lines where that number can be found.
Edit build.prop, restart phone, and then connect it to PCC or SEUS.

How to update to original Sony Firmware for my region?

Hi,
i am a xperia mini pro user. I want to update to my phone's original build/region firmware. My product code is 1249-0752. How can i do this? i have ftf of world Roms on GB and ICS. I also have root access. How do i successfully update or reinstall my firmware to the one for the product code 1249-0752
92 views and no reply?
would be kind if someone knows too. im from malaysia but my xperia active is from Netherlands :X
i figured out nothing to be done. i paid for wotanserver and updated with generic one for india.. but the SI is different.. sadly, for my SI which is stated above, ICS is not available via update service/suite. but the SI is there in the SI list which sony posted.
I haven't tried this myself, but if the SI number isn't included in the Official Sony ICS Update list, then updating via SEUS works even if your SI number isn't mentioned by Sony..
You can try it out..
Hello, i am not talking about android 4.0 update here! i am talking about the original firmware that came with the phone, which is the one which has the same SI number as the phone. Ofcourse i can edit any stock firmware's build prop via root and make it look genuine.. But i was wondering if there is a way to get the firmware with the same SI number. also, my SI number is listed in the update list by sony, but the update is not available yet.

Hello *achem* , first of all, update and flash are two different things.. flash would be the more appropriate word here so that members don't get you wrong..
If you try using Official tools like PCC then you will get an ICS update and not your original firmware.. so i think the answer lies in your above post itself as i cant think of any other way to do that.

@coolbuy.......
You know that you already answer your own question right????
Even if your phone SI number is listed but still no official update from Sony then there no way you (or other people) can download/upload/share it.....

Maybe because you already have updated to ICS using wotanserver, and when SEUS detects your software, it returns as no available update.
Why not flash a GB rom, edit build.prop to the SI number you want, and update using SEUS. I did that upgrading from GB to ICS (of course I had to do the things needed for ICS root) on my LWW. Just a suggestion.
Blah, i am using hybrom 11 with my on mods, i find it better than ICS. I have used ICS (wORLD)

[XU] Anyway to get this firmware?

So, today in my country Sony released the ICS update (ST25a model) and I want to test it, but I flashed another ROM and I can't get the official update of my carrier. There's any way to get that new firmware?
There's any website that recopiles all the firmwares like samsung?
Thanks!
