There are three version of Atrix at the moment: Atrix 4G (first generation), Atrix 2 (second generation) and Atrix HD (latest one).
The 4G version is basically the AT&T variant. The Atrix is what is called the "international version". generally the roms should be the same. bootloaders may vary. see this:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/wiki/Motorola_Atrix_4G:_Full_Update_Guide
yeah atrix 4g is compatible with 4g.. lol...
Atrix 4g is compatible with... 3.5G, not 4g xD

Can you please use search next time? There are at least half a dozen threads opened with this exact same question (and they have all been answered too).

Hi guys I have been getting slow speeds, on my 4g galaxy s is really slow the top is 0.12mbps beyond that it can't even touch 0.13, is something wrong with the radio?, i called my service provider and they said that my service was fine and it could be a problem with the phone. The phone is brand new and it started a couple of days ago, they also say it may be a problem with the towers in my area. It has to do with the phone I think because the tower cant be bad for days
are you on stock or a custom rom?
have you tried a different modem driver?
Why did you make 2 threads with the same question?
Also, go over to the galaxy s 4g section, as that is your phone and more people can help you. This is the vibrant 3g section.

Hi all,
I live in the UK and we only have the standard Motorola Atrix here, am I correct in thinking that the rom's etc on this forum are only for the 4G US version of the device? If so, where is the regular forum? I honestly cant find it .
The standard Atrix is indeed the "Atrix 4G". The Atrix 4G actually does not have true 4G, just HSPA+, but is just very poorly named. This is probably the forum you're looking for.
i am also interested to confirm this?
If i buy an Atrix, not an Atrix 4G, all the roms and radios here will work?
thank you very much

Hi there, i have a UK Atrix and have no problem flashing roms from this forum, i'm currently running CM7 Ba2tf, but have tried the majority of them on here without any problem. I have only managed to do this by following the excellent tutorials to root, unlock the bootloader & flash recovery. Happy flashing my fellow UK Atrix users.

i would buy an atrix (version 1) with tegra2 chipset. It's the european model , my question is

- Can i use the ICSROM 1.4 on the atrix european version ?
thanks

Because Motorola killed the phone. You will be stuck with stock Gingerbread roms or unoficial custom roms without hardware acceleration.
The phone has nice specs, it's a damn shame tho.
the atrix actual price is 220 euros and a new cm10 roms seems to have HW accel too with JB

They still have a lot of bugs and it's uncertain if devs can fix it.
Don't get me wrong, I love my phone, but I wouldn't recomend it, at least not till the devs make a 100% stable rom with decent battery life and HWA working. This would never happen with Samsung.
^^^^^^
Not correct. This would happen with any manufacturer, eve Samsung, all except Nexus devices. Do yourself a favour and buy a Nexus, that way you will have an updated software always.

There is ONLY ONE version of Atrix in existance. It might be called different in different regions, but it is still the same device.
Yes, you can install that ROM on an euro-Atrix, just like on any other Atrix.

unless you get the updated version of the atrix (like me). then you wont be able to install any custom rom because you can not unlock the bootloader.

Well yeah, I meant there are no hardware limitations based on a specific geographic region. Locked BL is a software limitation, and also has nothing to do with the device being american or european or whatever.

thats true, but if he is going to buy a new phone he will most likely get one with a locked bootloader.

Thread closed. Went way off topic after the questions were already answered.
The question is for those people who did not buy on contract (purchased the phone outright).

That's not how updates work. Phones don't get updates based upon their contract status or lack thereof, but instead they get updated by their device ID. (Carrier, region, etc..)

Phones get updated not based whether you bought it on credit or full or contract or w/e but based on region, carrier or if you got the developer edition. Most updates MUST go through the carriers and they must approve of it. Is why the First Galaxy line was slow at getting updated. Thank T-Mobile for that

That sucks. My previous phone a Sony Xperia Arc S got updated via the USB connection through their sync software. I don't see why that cannot be the case with this phone. BTW this forum is oh so slow compared to the Xperia Arc forum. I would think it would have plenty of postings. Is the S4 so much more popular?

Because there are many versions to the same phone the "t-mobile" HTC One forums may be slow, but if you go down to the "htc one" forums here on XDA you will discover another story.

This is likely the most obvious thing to Razr users, but I just picked up a Razr V XT886 today and am trying to figure out what I can do with it. I've already got it rooted (yay!) but now I'm trying to figure out if all the ROMs and Recoveries that are posted for the XT910 and 912 are compatible with the XT886 (and similar) or are they all very different phones?
Thank god for this Q&A forum xD
Thanks!
Yes, it is

Those are three different phones. The Razr XT910 e XT912 are almost the same phone, except one is US branded (XT912 - CMDA) and the XT910 is International (GSM) beside this they are the same phone, even though they're different and things meant to one sometimes work on the other, sometimes don't. The Razr V has a completely different chipset from these other two, which makes it a completely different phone from these other 2, so I believe you are on the way the brick your phone if try something that isn't specifically meant to it.
I hope it helped...
