I've been using itunes and copy and paste the updated folder to sd. Sucks. Not efficient.
I'm trying out winamp and it is copying music to sdcard\music. I want it in ext_sd\music instead. I haven't seen an option to change the directory.
Is there an app that will sync my music to the folder I want?

I've heard isyncr is decent idk from experience, I just use HTC sync for my music

Get drop sync pro. It makes Dropbox on your phone work like the desktop app. You choose the folders on both sides, the time intervals, etc. You can even delay syncs when you're not charging or not connected to wifi

It's the Google Music app not a music player. Gives you access to the music you downloaded/stored in Google music.

Not sure why you quoted my +1? I was asking what are the differences between this and the current google music. Im not going to install it "just because."
Confused by some of the other comments...is this simply the Google Music app extracted from JB? What the cloud and all that jazz? Or is it just an app that opens up the music play store?

Sorry for my confusion... But doesn't the current google music app play all music on phone in addition to cloud music? I thought mine did, but don't have any non cloud music on phone now to check

Yes it does, that's why I'm wondering what the differences are between the two lol.
Nice testing now! so far no FC
How are you guys able to install this. I have tried a straight install like 10 times and all have failed.

With my razr I could open up the app my music and seamlessly play my songs on my Sony google tv. Now with my rezound I am unable to after trying with the included music app and several other programs. I tried going to output n changing it but nothing comes up after the resound searches. Both devices are working on my home network. Can someone help me out with some insight?

I downloaded several mp3's onto my phone and they aren't showing up in the HTC Music app or the Google Music app. I can play them once I select them off the file manager though.
I'm not using a sd card by the way.
Any ideas?

they are located in the Music folder. Some songs work. However most don't.

I had the same problem with Play Music. It would recognize both local and cloud-stored songs for a bit, and then "forget" about the locally-stored files. Rescan/reboot didn't help. I haven't found a solution.
The HTC music app still sees my local files, though.
Try to clear the caches and data for those music apps... That will force them to rescan your media.

This works until you reset the phone. Don't know what else to do.

awesome man, was having the same issue, and this solved it!
HI all.
I'm having a issue when syncing music to my phone that even tho there in albums, it's splitting them up so I end up with 3 albums each containing a few track.
Tried syncing by kies and by putting the albums in folders onto my external sd.
Anyone got any ideas how to stop it doing this?

Most likely due to id3 tags. Check it out in a different player. If it does the same thing, might need to re tag your music.

Thanks for the reply,
All my music are mixtapes so that maybe the problem.
Just 're added them all and now my phones seeing them in some UN readable file.
It's doing my head in now-the one thing I miss about apple is the ease to add music to your device without a problem

I have been using spotify premium because I enjoy the service, but I just got a text from T-Mobile saying I've used 4.5GB of my 5GB allowance. I went into data management and saw that Spotify has downloaded 4.2 GB of music in the past week. I only have one playlist set to download, but its only 300 songs, no way is it 4.2 GB, plus I download all of my songs over WiFi before I get into my car? I stream music but only rarely. I have noticed that spotify continuously says its downloading my playlist but I didn't think anything of it. Any help on fixing this rogue app?

Go into Spotify, then settings and make sure Download over 2G/3G is set to OFF
Or if you're using an ICS/JB ROM, you can limit how much data an app uses in Settings-Data Usage.

It just seems weird that it would have that much downloaded, there isnt that much in the first place! I hate to turn off the mobile data options, because I never know when ill need it, but thatll have to work for now.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
Maybe there's some setting to save your playlist to the device, and since download via mobile network was allowed, it would have downloaded a huge playlist(s) that you had. I suppose this was the case, or there might be an auto-caching option like in Google Play Music.

Yeah spotify allows you to download a playlist to your device, which I do at home when im on wifi. My playlist is 1gb at most, it baffles me how it drained 4gb, and on mobile data to boot.
