Messaging Bug - HTC Droid DNA

Is anyone else experiencing a bug in which you get a text message and you open it from the notification shade and it opens to the first message in the thread? When it happens I have to scroll all the way down to the most recent message and sometimes the message isn't there, so I would have to back out to all of my messaging threads and re-open the thread for the message to appear.
It doesn't happen all the time but frequently enough for it to be annoying.
Am I alone?

It did happen to me a couple times, where I went into the messaging and the top of the thread. But the message has always been there for me.

Yes this happens to me every time I unlock my phone with a text message notification. It is seriously annoying. I also noticed that if you send or receive a mms (picture for me) it only shows the time stamp for the picture message and it wont show a time stamp from the most recent text message that you receive. (I know that's confusing). But what gives? Why are there bugs?

Meet too...
I'm having the same issue and it only does it sometimes... Which is very annoying. Also, another issue I have found ridiculous: at least with stock browser when clicking links I have to touch slightly above the link... Nothing else on the phone reacts this way...still an amazing phone but I really want this stuff fixed. Also while I'm complaining... I dont like that my hardware buttons at the bottom only light up when it's completely dark sometimes...and when I'm done with a call, and and I pull the phone away from my head the screen doesn't auto turn back on... Pretty lame stuff...

Message Notification Error

When i get a text or email the trackball flashes and also the LED. But once i have read the message, they continue to flash. Does anyone know of a setting that needs to be changed or is the phone a bit faulty.
It's a software bug. Usually those kind of bugs doesn't mean that the hardware is faulty, faulty hardware would result in no wifi, no GSM signal, screen failures etc ...
Pull down the status bar notification thingy, even if it's empty. The LED will stop blinking.
Yes, this is annoying :/
Thanks, that seems to stop it. As you say it is a software bug and needs fixing.
Is there any way to change how long these items flash for? If I get an SMS or have a missed call etc I really would like them to flash indefinately as I will often not even look at my phone for a few hours and I don't want to have to bring it out of standy just to see if there may have been a message.
Here it helps to pull down the notification area. It always stops after I've done that
Pressing the lighted trackball should take you to the notifying app
Thats kind of what I was expecting anyway. If you have a flashing indicator for a new sms or email, say, it would be nice if it took you straight to that app on clicking the trackball.
Then you dont have to pull down the notifications and work out which item to click. If you have multiple notifications, then each click would go through them in order, removing the notification each time.

Weird Text Bug - Can't Respond to Messages

This is weird, and just started happening today. I go to respond to a text, and the screen turns black. Hitting the back button makes it go away. I'm using GoSMS. So I tried to use my stock text app - the screen turns white. I can open the message and thread in both applications, it just goes white/black when I type the text field to respond. I tried uninstalling Go to see if it was a bug there (as I have it set to override the stock app) - I also tried a reboot.
No dice. I am on the Affinity ROM Beta. I really hope it's not ROM related, because this ROM screams and is making me happy.
Please help. I can't live without texting - I don't even use my phone for calling really...
Thanks.
EDIT: It was SmartKeyboard Pro. So Affinity is still money. Mods, can you take this down? Thanks...

I do not know why it would stay on, but does the issue persist after a reboot?
EDIT: Also, is it SOLID or blinking?
The light is solid. rebooting, rebooting, rebooting.... it does NOT persist after a reboot... this is not the first time I have noticed it, just the first time I have noticed it where I could post and ask about it... but once I recieve a new text message, it will come on solid. Once I read it it seems to be staying on solid after that. but only when I turn off the screen. if I wake the phone the light goes off...
Ninja Edit... just uninstalled handcent and am back to using the stock Messenger app... prefer the black background I had in handcent, but so far the light hasnt got stuck on yet.... and now it is green for a new message instead of blue.... Hmm... as long as it works I guess right?
As long as it works.

After trying all of the popular SMS apps, I too have found my phone just works better with the stock messaging app. Go figure!
Are you using Light Flow?

I have noticed the blue light, which on my phone is mms, stays on as well. I use handcent, and won't give it up. I have found that by going into the stock messaging app, and selecting the last sent message will clear the light. It is a minor inconvenience, but I will gladly accept it in order to use handcent.

Just playing with lightflow it seems the photon can do blue, pink, orange, cyan, red, and green. All the other colors seem to be very close to or the same as a color listed above.

There was an update for Handcent this morning that was suppose to fix the LED issue.
My photon hasn't had this problem and i use Handcent exclusively.
Just throwing the update out there, i remember reading the LED fix in the release notes.

[Q] Vibration and keyboard/sms questions

One thing that's a love/hate thing for me with this phone is the vibration. It's super loud and powerful. At first I loved it, but at work, it's actually a little obnoxious. Every time I get a text you can hear it from the other side of the room. I know with some phones there's options for pattern and intensity.. haven't seemed to find this. Anyone have an idea? I know I could also turn off vibrate notifications and just put the ring volume lower, but that can be just as distracting. And then I have to change it back to vibration on when I leave work.
Also one of my big issues is with the keyboard disappearing after every text I send. I'm using the stock Sense keyboard. I'm unsure if this is controlled by the keyboard itself or the messaging app. Normally this phone is super speedy, but every text I send, the keyboard disappears, and then it requires about 3 seconds before I can load it back up again if I'm sending back to back texts. I've seen this option in other messaging apps to hide/keep the board after sent message. Anyone see this functionality anywhere?
I've got everything stock, btw.

No notifications during chat conversation?

I am using a note 3 with stock 5.0 rooted..
When I get a text.. My phone vibrates and played my notification sound... This works fine.. However.. When I am done reading a text sometimes I just set my phone down with the conversation still open.. And when I receive a new text the phone assumes I am just looking at the conversation because it's open and doesn't give me any kind of notification or vibration what so ever... My girlfriend has got upset on more than one occasion be a use I didn't text her back.. Cause I would check the phone then set it down and then she would text me like 3 times and my phone doesn't tell me.
How can I get it to make a sound or vibrate for every text? Regardless if the app is open or not
bump... would really appreciate some help on this
Yes, my phone on android 5.0 behaves the same.
Generally after reading a text, I usually press home button or lock the screen to make sure i don't miss such notifications..
