[Q] visual land connect VL879 rom needed please - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey guys, i have recently purchased a used visual land connect VL879 tablet for a x-mas present for my fiancee, and i just figured i would install a new rom on the device, however, i have not been able to find any roms or much support for this device. i bought the device used so it did not have the operating system installed on it. i have put the device into recovery mode but it doesnt help much if i cant find a rom to install on the device, also i have had no luck finding a way to flash clockwork mod to the device, or a version of clockwork mod for this device. any help would be appriciated. i could use live suit, but it will not work with windows 8 which i am currently using on my laptop, if i have no other way i will go to my house and use my desktop that has win 7 . if you can help then thank you. -syntax

I had attempted to post a helpful link to the latest ics rom for your device but since I'm still new here I'm not yet permitted too. So, I'll point you in the direction the best I can. Check out the forums at tabletroms dot com. Navigate to the Prestige 7 section. There you will find a thread titled "Visual Land Firmware." The roms for all visual land 7" tablets are available there.
Best of luck

[Q] Bricked Tab3, Help**

Hello,
I successfully rooted my Galaxy Tab 3 (model sm-t110, if that matters), then made a huge mistake. Upon believing that i was going to sell it, i went to settings, and selected to reset phone, foolishly thinking it would take it back to factory/out-of-the-box condition. Now, when i attempt startup, the B&W logo appears repeatedly, followed by this screen with options:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
What is the best way to fix this? I prefer to go back to the rooted version, or whichever method is easiest!
Thanks for any help you guys can provide!

HELP!?
Lil' help please?!
Just point me in the right direction, anything!!
Thanks in advance!
You can download the stock firmware and flash it via Odin. That should restore it back to it's stock unrooted out of the box state

Hey, thanks for the reply.
Currently, i dont have access to a PC or laptop. I can borrow one from a friend, if needed...seems like it is a necessity, right??
Thanks again, and if there are any other tips you or anyone can provide, it would be MUCH appreciated!

Yes. You would need a Windows PC for ODin to work, and the Samsung drivers installed.

Not so familiar with chrome books, but I'm guessing, NO
Look around for jODIN3 , it's a web based solution for flashing Odin files...I know for a fact that it works on Mac and Linux..,
You might want to give it a shot and let us know if it works on a chrome book

If you have not had any replies, then I'm afraid its for several reasons.
You can't get "flash" files for mediatek chips set phones, they simply do not exist anywhere.
You can only "flash" something on a device that has the architecture to allow flashing (ie a Qualcomm) I'm pretty sure you need to build your own twrp/clockwork mod recovery yourself for your pacific device.
Mediatek chipset devices are notoriously difficult to mod in anyway, and always the easiest to brick.
I'm no expert but you really need to have someone explain this to you, your phone is bricked and there is no way to recover it.
Its the very reason after having two of these very cheap Chinese clone phones that both went wrong after only a few months I will never purchase such a device again, even after one came to me pre rooted and with CWM installed, that did not stop it going horribly wrong after 6 weeks usage.
My only advice to you is to google the make/brand along with the model number firmware(for example this is how I did it)
Example-Epade S90 (NEO N002) 4.5 firmware
But its doubtful you would be able to flash anything as you won't have any working recovery, and most of the website for these firmwares will be in Chinese.
This is my own experience, not something I have read, someone with a lot more knowledge than me needs to explain this to you in a way you may understand more than I can explain.

Soft Bricked Honor 7C

Hi there,
I'd really be grateful for any help anyone can give. Yesterday, my Honor 7C got stuck in a boot loop, restarting at the blue Honor screen continually until the battery runs out. It's impossible to boot it into recovery mode using any combination of key presses. It just keeps restarting.
Can someone please help? I don't really mind losing the phone, but ideally I would like to save some of the data on it, as it had been a while since I backed up.
I understand that the way to do this might be to flash the stock ROM, root the phone and then run a data recovery program like EaseUs. Is this correct?
Also, I have tried to flash the stock ROM but really have no idea how to do it. I got half way through using SP Flash Tool before I realised that the Honor 7C is not a Mediatek phone.
Also, I can't find the stock ROM (LND-L29) anywhere except on pretty dodgy looking websites. Is there a reliable source for stock ROMs anywhere?
Any help would be really gratefully received. Thanks!
B7C
@Bricky7C
Your Honor 7C has a Qualcomm chip-set hence you might use free-of-charge QPST ( read: Qualcomm Product Support Tool ) to re-flash device's Stock ROM.

Turns out my bootloop was caused by a hardware problem after all - ripping open the side of the phone solved it.
However, for anyone who stumbles across this thread with a similar problem, jwoegerbauer's suggestion of QPST was very helpful, but the tool on the site would not install for me on Windows 10. I kept getting an "installation was interrupted error". However, I found a working version of the tool at:
androidmtk dot com fslash download-qpst-flash-tool
[I'm a new user so XDA won't allow me to post a URL]
I scanned for viruses and the installation didn't cause me any issue, though I never ended up having to use it in the end.

Creating Tablet image to transfer to others

Hi,
Newbie here so go easy!
Ive been changing the settings on an imported chinese tablet such as boot image, remove bloatware, download apps required, etc and it works great. However, I want to be able to create a full image of one tablet and transfer that to other tablets I buy so I dont have to manually do this every time. Basically a full backup and restore of everything on the tablet.
Can anyone assist on the best process to do this.
Thanks
If device's Android got rooted then you can perform a full NANDroid backup by means of either TWRP or FlashFire. FYI: ROOT is required for mounting all partitions as RW.
TWRP:

Hi, I worked out why flash fire was crashing, but some of the items in the app are greyed out so it doesn't allow a back up. I think its because I still have the standard recovery that came with the tablet instead of something like TWRP. And I cant find one online that will work.
Are there any other ways to do a full back up programmatically?

Teclast P80H D9C3 Android 10 Go edition

Hi!
Can anyone help please? I need to use this tablet as navigation but the sd card function doesn't work. If i format it starts at 20% and stuck there and nothing happens. At restart it doesn't see the card. Maybe ROM change will solve but is there a ROM that i can flash instead this Go edition Build: V1.07_20201223?
You try to add SD-card as Adoptable Storage?
BTW: Android 10 GO is meant to run on low-end devices as the Teclast P80H is one. My guess is you'll find not any Custom ROM suitable to this device, and even not any Custom Recovery matching this device, what is an indispensable prerequisite to flash any Custom ROM.

Have you additionally installed the "Android USB Driver" suitable to this tablet what is based on MediaTek chipset? If not already done yet, do it.

My device is a
Teclast P80H D9C3 Android 10 Go edition with Unisoc 7731e, so it's not MediaTek chipset, it is a Cortex Arm A-7 verified by cpu-z. Will this work anyway?
Then the product description i read misstated it.
Anyway, install the "Android USB Driver" valid for UniSoc ( formerly Spreadtrum ) devices
SPD_Driver_v1.4
MediaFire is a simple to use free service that lets you put all your photos, documents, music, and video in a single place so you can access them anywhere and share them everywhere.

FYI: I don't own this tablet, hence I can't guide you further. Thanks for your understanding.
