Extract the rom zip. Go to system/etc & copy the audio_policy.conf to ur sd card. Then paste this file to ur system/etc folder of ur phone by setting permissions. Then reboot. See if this fix the problem
Nothing happend....... still same problem

That should solve the issue. U can try to reflash the rom without wiping data (wipe cache & dalvik only) it won't make any more issues so I suggest u to give it a try or u have to flash the rom again with full wipe

HI,
I had the same issue, but with no reason. Uninstalled every additional soft, reflashed rom. Digging into net, looking for solution found nothing.
Yesterday I realized that I have accidentally switched "profiles" on in Settings. After switching profiles off ringing sound returned. I have tested it few times with different profile settings and always when profiles were activated there was no sound.
So maybe there is an error in profiles set up in JB or CM10?
Hope it helps

Haha you're right, There's a bug in profile sound switching,
I also have facing that problem in December
Yeah, but with your own created profile it works, you only have to delete the existing default ones.

Yep, the problem was about the profile... What would fix the issue? Does somebody know?

Okay so i have this problem and i dont know how to solve it. The thing is that when im listening to the music on the speaker the system allows me to increase the volume normally and when i plug in my headphones the sound doesnt go up past ~20% i can increase it tho but the volume doesnt go up. I'm using Galnet MIUI 1.9.30 i made a data factory reset and formatted system and wiped dalvik cache before installing it. And also before i was using bmarkos MIUI 1.9.16, and gangsterjoops port of MIUI 1.9.23 and 1.9.30 and on them all same problem (also would do full wipe before installing it). And also i cant find in the settings if theres any option like on iOS where u could regulate the maximum possible volume, so i guess its not the problem in the settings. If anyone know please help.
BUMP Anyone? It's really annoying :/
I have got exactly the same problem! Has anyone got an idea how to fix that?
I guess no, i found somewhere that this can be fixed by opening the service mode but none of the codes i found work on MIUI and i read that its a bug in the miui (actually cm7) rom so it cant use any service codes there are for galaxy :/ i guess the solution would be putting back the stock gingerbread and then opening the service mode and adjusting the volume level for headphones and then when thats done switching back to miui
about the sound problem.
ok . here is what i have for you . maybe you should root and try a different rom. also , you can try to get a app like boost volume or some type like this to over ride your volume issue. i have the at&t galaxy s2 usa edition and no problems with it . ITS AWESOME . NICE AND LOUD . good luck
Yes I'm familiar with the volume boosting options but i don't want to boost it up and leave it stuck on 6/15 (zplayer) I want it to be able to increase it to 15/15 but i might try installing some custom rom and fixing the volume issue and then switching back to miui ... let u guys know if it works might even try it now
Hi,
Galaxy S2
F1 GalaxyNexus ROM, Build 5.
I'm having a problem switching calls. When the second call comes in I'm notified of it and swipe right to answer it but I get an error, "unable to switch calls". I had the same problem in Build 1 so updated to Build 5 today but I still get the same error when I try to switch to the second call.
I've checked that call waiting is enabled, and it is.
I've turned it off and rebooted the phone but strangely still get notified of the second call.
I've re-enabled call waiting and rebooted but still get the same error as before "unable to swich calls".
I'm on Vodafone pay as you go, Freedom Freebie.
Any ideas please? I'm a noob so can't post on the Faryaab's development thread
Thanks
Greg
I probably should of said....
The Baseband version is I9100XXLPS.
If the second caller hangs up I am able to get back to the first caller.
If I can get the first caller to hang up then I can switch to the second caller.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
Greg
Just bumping my own thread again.
Wondering if anyone can advise if they have call waiting enabled and can switch calls and what ROM you're running?
Any help would be really appreciated
Cheers

Hi Sun90,
Sorry about the bump, will edit my OP if I need to in the future.
In Titanium I did a 'wipe data' for 'Phone 4.0.4-eng', shutdown, pulled the battery and rebooted. No luck unfortunately
I was wondering if this could be related to the baseband? I'm running I9100XXLPS on Vodafone UK. What are you running?
I might have to check out the ROM you're running! I really like this ROM but not being able to switch calls is such a pain.
Thanks for your help.
Cheers

Hi Sun90,
Just tried as you said but the only option was to clear data, which I did. I also cleared the defaults (not sure what that'll do!), switched off, pulled battery but still get the same error, unable to switch calls.
I suppose it must be the ROM
Thanks anyway.

just to ensure its a problem with the present version of F1 rom ur using, i would suggest u to try an older or a newer version of that rom and see, also alternatively check with some other rom like 'Slim ICS' for instance and see if the issue persists
I worked out what the defaults is all about, it's cause I've got calls set to default to the phone rather than Skype.
I've removed Skype just in case it was causing the issue but it wasn't.
Any other ideas please?
Cheers

Solved
Hi Everyone,
Just a quick update to say that Vodafone UK advised me that call waiting / switching doesn't work when you are on pay as you go
I had previously posted in the Vodafone forum and been advised to try a wipe and spoken to tech support who advised that it should work, luckily for me I spoke to someone today that knew what they were talking about!
Thanks for your help.
Cheers

Hi All,
recently I have rooted by Samsung Galaxy S III, flashed and reinstalled ROM to a custom one. The problem is that after I reinstalled the ROM, I am unable to hear anything in my speaker, when dialing. People cannot hear me on the other side either. This is pretty weird, as when I switch to loudspeaker, I can hear the phone call all right.
The issue happened for MIUI, several different versions I tried. It happened also for for pre-rooted TouchWiz that I found on the web and reinstalled after issue with MIUI.
Now I have cyanogenmod and the dialer WORKS fine for this ROM, without any issues. I just want to switch to MIUI, and I can see I might have the same issue for all custom ROMs, except cyanogenmod.
What's the problem? Can anyone advise?
I have attached dump from my android system info app, I hope this will be helpful.
I have the same problem on some AOKP, AOSP, CM roms, not on stock based roms, and after search and trying many many many things, i find that enabling screen lock sounds (or touch sounds) and restarting device, and keeping that enabled does solve the problem. But if you losing the network signal when you don't have the tone in call that might be a hardware issue.

Thanks man,
Did you try this on miui? Can you specify in more details how to enable these lock or touch sounds?

Try performing a mega wipe mate before installing your preferred rom
BUT BEWARE AS IT WIPES ALL FROM INTERNAL MEMORY

Hi all,
For a long time I have being using CM and CM based rome like Slim. Recently (since 4.2.1 and up) I have very annoying issue that is preventing me on using these ROMs as a daily drivers. Namely when my phone boots up I can place only a couple of outgoing calls before they start being rejected with message "Call Ended". That is happening before even call is connected at 0:00. I have tried to google for the problem and have found only that some users on Motorola phones had similar issue back when GB rolled out and they have being able to temporarily correct it by deleting dialer cache. Sadly that doesn't work for me too. Only thing that I can do is to restart my phone...
Thank you for your help guys...

Actually I don't know why u r facing this problem may be flashing a different modem will solve your problem
And for reboot... If u have to reboot frequently use a app (forgetting its name) that will restart all your networks in one click without rebooting...

Thanks on ur answer but I really don't want to use some app every time I want to make a phone call. Is it possible that modem is causing issues because when I flash 4.1.2 I don't have these issues and also, like I mentioned before, I can make one or two calls after I reboot my phone.
Hi. Got a strange sound problem on my S3. Have Omega Rom installed XXEMB5 v 43.1 and J-Kay 14.92.9. Stock Kernel After some time my phone does not have any sound. If i try to play a sound withsound player it says that it is not supported. Cannot play any Youtube video, no ringtone or notification sound. If I reboot the phone everything works normal again for some time until the problem is there again. Tried to reset to factory, wiped and reformatted the internal and external memory card and reinstalled Rom and Jkay. Anyone knows about this problem or have a solution?

I'd install a stock ROM to test the speaker. That will tell you if the problem is the custom ROM, which it may well be. Otherwise, ask in the specific ROM's thread that the dev started.
Hi, I think I am having the same problem.
About 30 minutes ago I missed a call, Phone was on my desk 2 meters away?? He then rang back and the phone was in front of me with the call screen but no sound, I checked all volume levels and they were all high. Now when I altered the volume with the rocker switch (Down then up) the volume came back
I also had this same problem a few weeks ago when I was running custom Samsung roms, But that was mainly to do with the alarm going off but not sounding. So I reverted back to stock because of those issues and now that I am getting the same problems on the stock software it must be a hardware fault.
So I am pretty sure it has nothing to do with the rom but the hardware instead somehow. I Don't want to but I may have to send my phone off.
Somebody else must have this problem as well? ??
i have the same problem too, just like for me the sonds do not come back after reboot. i made it to work somehow but after one more reboot the problem is here again and cant make it work again.
